"Only the dead have seen the end of the war.."

In a long forgotten past, a time sculpted into an era of peace, where people from all known walks of life freely ventured from one extensive kingdom to the next. Bloodshed was kept to a minimal, and the uncommon, minor disputes, were handled by according, and worthy nobles and lords. An old magic reigned supreme, the undiluted and pure essence harnessed into valuable and sacred charms and artifacts, by ancient thaumaturgists, known exclusively as “The Tuarens.” Sexuality was not a limitation, women and men alike held thrones, and tended to them with loyalty.

These ages of peace, were abruptly, and brutally disrupted, when rocky coastlines, untouched by outlying civilizations for millennia beforehand, were beached by hulking vessels. These foreign invaders, held much different beliefs from the peaceful kingdoms. The enemy was a race of strong, militaristic, and power hungry people, who savored the bittersweet taste of war, whom had conquered their rugged and spanning homeland with ease. As their weak armies banded together to face this threat, it soon after became apparent, defeat was utterly inevitable.

It was decided, they were to set out on a voyage of their own, using their weakened armies to give them enough time to set sail. The house representatives from each kingdom, along with hundreds of skilled citizens, slaves, and the sacred Tuarens, set out on three bulky, weathered ships into the vast and expansive unknown. While the hapless, remaining population was consumed with little resistance, conquered under the banner of the savages. With the seemingly endless ocean around them, the brutal storms which battered the boats on occasion, the thick tension forced the houses into an unruly manner.

Hushed alliances were forged in the midst of the chaos, and silent enemies were made, over petty grudges. The desperate and weakened voyagers, had set themselves on a path of ruin. When a fog blanketed coastline had come into sight, it was far too late. Although the towering settlement was finished, the houses had begun plotting for the throne, as the disorderly colonists stand leaderless and divided. The seemingly hostile, and primitive natives, along with the terrifying beasts of this unfamiliar land, threaten to blow out the fragile life, that the broken colonists struggle to cling on to. A bigger threat is looming on the horizon, one which will push things, perhaps to the tipping point, and then some.

So this is a fairly basic backstory, providing some meager foreshadowing. I will go more in depth on the houses, the tribes, etc, and how our characters will play a part in the salvation of the colony, if I get some solid interest of course. I was thinking of allowing a few to create their own houses, and I've a few things bouncing around in my head about positions the colonists could possibly hold. I would like this to be a serious RP, with literate, and passionate writers. If there are any questions about the concept, feel free to ask.
