In the midst of a great and empty void, a small light slowly flickered Into existence.

Streams of data flowed out of the void towards the light, spinning and twisting into more solid shapes and forms. Ever so slowly a large elegant stone tower took shape, or more accurately its crown. As it floated in the void it seemed to grow out rather then up as a courtyard took shape. It was larger then what one may think a courtyard, more like the size of a football field really. Soon walls began to rise on one side, leading up into the void as rafters began to sprout and take shape with no seeming end. They did however stop, seeming to fuzz out about halfway over the massive courtyard. Back down below, door after door began to form along the bottom of the wall about a foot apart from one another. Opposite of the wall a crater began to sink, replacing what was lost with water until a gigantic swimming pool was clearly visible. Things seemed to go still as the last things took shape, seeming to leave the rest of this newly created world at piece...

Suddenly, from the center of the courtyard burst a massive tree. It was an amazing sight to see if someone had been there to see it. Even though it had burst from the ground it left no signs of its entrance, it merely seemed to have already existed there. It was massive, even for the tower it had come from. It was as thick around as a large living room and taller then a three story building. Its branches were adorned with what could be best described as "leaves so green that they had a golden glow about them". Amidst its branches sat one more thing however: a small golden apple. It was the final thing in this world of a floating towers crown to come into existence. It was an amazing sight to behold, a place of wonder that had merely sprung up in this void.

However it could not last.

After a few moments of stillness a breeze began to blow and it was like watching the shift of silent hill. Stones began to crumble and fade, their luster now long lost as the wear of time began to show. The doors fell into disarray. Some began falling off hinges while others seemed to merely rot away. Each room revealed that it contained the void that surrounded the this tower. The rafters to began to rot and wither away, leaving gaping holes in the sky where they once sat. Even the pool began to deteriorate. once where there was beauty, now there was an old dried up ugly pool with cracks and splits within its once full basin. And then there was the tree. At first, it was as if the tree was immune to whatever it was that had been changing the tower. But it to, slowly began to change. Its leaves began to change colors, taking on the rustic colors of fall as they fell and blew away with the wind. Its mighty branches withered and shrank as did its trunk. It seemed that the tree simply died.... But the apple remained. it was still as golden as before, and as ripe as before, simply clinging to the small branch that held it near the trees crown. It was the last bit of beauty in a dying world.

"PURR has logged into the tower. Welcome them!"

The robotic voice split the silence, announcing the arrival of its long anticipated guest. More streams of data shot out of the void, faster than any other data before, and formed into a person. He stood, blinking, as he gained his senses. He was a humanistic white tiger, what most would call a furry. And he was home. He stood there in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, a large trench coat upon us shoulders and a satchel over his shoulder. A few more blinks later and he was ready to walk his old home. He had appeared on the far end, closer to the old pool, and began to walk around and take in his surroundings. It was odd to see the place deserted, but he had known it would be so. Looking up at the rafters a small smile spread across his lips and a dry chuckle left his lips. Even now in the rundown state he could hear old friends, old family. Suddenly he vanished into a cloud of smoke, only to reappear on a stable rafter nearby. It had been a long time, but he still knew not to go to high. Regardless of time he was sure that the old traps would work. his friend would have made sure of that. Bending down he found what he wanted however. Carved into the rafters were the names of his friends, all etched into the wood and still well preserved. A tear landed amongst them as he read the names of those who had no longer had contact or had long since gone on to better places. Eventually he returned to the floor below and continued his walk. All around him he could still see the smiles of those that once dwelled upon the tower, even hear laughter. But He knew that they were simply memories. Nothing more. Eventually, he arrived at thew once great and mighty tree. He placed a furred hand upon its trunk and smiled once more. It was the last thing that had been added to the tower, and it had been his doing. With a small laugh he began speaking to it.

"Well now, you old tree. Not doing very well are you? Its to be expected, after all. No ones been here in ages. No one to look after you... it makes me sad to see my home this way, but life just keeps moving I'm afraid. Things happen that we cant control. But I'm home now, and ill take care of you once more as I once did. We shall see the return of others someday, and we will see it together."

As he finished he closed his eyes and began to changing. He grew larger and the fur that covered him receded and was replaced with golden scales. Great wings sprouted from his back and his new form took shape. Now he stood as a great golden dragon, and an aged one at that. With a small huff and a bit of smoke he seemed to smile and curled up around the once great tree to protect it once more. 'someday,' he thought to himself, 'i shall see the return of others to this world, and when that day comes i shall be happy. For once again the family that was here shall be born anew and things will be better... things will be better..." The last part seemed to repeat a few times until the golden dragon fell asleep, a gently rumble as he snored.

Time passed, and eventually the tower began to slowly dissolve back into streams of data, flowing out into the void from whence it came. Ever so slowly it circled around until only the dragon and his tree were left, and they to began to unravel into those same data streams. As the last bit left them both, the robotic voice sounded once more as the light slowly dimmed out....

"PURR has logged out of the tower. Hope to see you again soon!"
