"A railroad is like a lie, you have to keep building it to make it stand."

(This is the only song I could find which fit.
Hell On Wheels was my inspiration for this idea,
wanted to give things my own twist .)

America, land of the free. At least that was the brave, defiant revolutionists original intention. Just as the flourishing nation had nestled itself a nice spot of power, valiantly pushing off those whom threatened their liberties, they were struck down, some say by the justful hand of god himself. A seemingly unstoppable disease, sprung up mysteriously across the nation, leaving a desolate, scarred trail such as a raging forest fire in its wake. When news reached the already unstable bordering nations, it was far too late.

Although it died off somewhat shortly after it had destroyed America, due to the vastly different climates of the Canadian wilderness, and the spanning mexican deserts, it ravaged the lands nonetheless, forcing the countries into anarchy, resulting in the eventual collapse of both already unsettled governments. It seemed as though hope was lost. It was brought in the form of sinister, greedy businessmen from around the globe, buying out canada and splitting it into several different provinces. As governments were once again established in these provinces, the country formally known as America, was left to fester.

Union, or Confederate, Black or white it simply didn’t matter, Americans were a desperate minority, the remaining populations fled to the various provinces, or a majority established some of their own inside of America’s heartland, along with the thousands of surviving natives, and the constant flow of immigrants, it became a lawless hellhole. These formally Canadian provinces teamed together, using the most advanced technology of the solemn eighteenth century, they have begun the creation of two railroads, both in a treacherous race to the rockies.

You will take the place of a railroad worker under the “Northwest British Pacific”. A weaker railroad, paired with a few of the other provinces, providing a steady income to pay for the many expenses of undertaking such a task. The first small town was established a ways across the border, one which stays for the most part out of harms way. The second rail town is set miles away from the first, stuck well into the heartland of hell. The newfound town has just been established, merely looking as though it were a camp, meaning the railroads further advancement is in just in the works.

This town is in desperate need for each and every soul to pull their own weight, with casualties already immense, you must buckle up, and bravely face the imposing danger lurking around each corner. The group is split, each serving an array of vitally important tasks. The first group surveys the land far ahead of the railroads, mapping the path for the railroads headway, facing the dangers of the unknown world, they are provided with merely a small band of escorts, along with courageous scouts. The second consists of a rail workers, sly businessmen feeding off of the workers, and a series of different protective military groups, gunslingers, and all other manner of people.

You believe Northwest British Pacific must be the first to the rockies, you have come to make a name for yourself, to advance in the militaries ranks, or to perhaps find your fortune, whether you have been hand picked by the railroads leaders, or have tagged along to watch the progress, you alone control your fate. Now come, we have a railroad to build.

Hopefully this snags some interest. I am looking for mature, literate Roleplayers to help me push the story along, those who can handle most mature themes, as I want this to be realistic. (This includes most everything but sex, although it will be prominent, with brothels and such, most everything needs to be kept PG-13, otherwise it should be taken to pm.) If you are interested, or have any questions at all, please post below.
