Baylie isnt much like the other scientist on her research team. She is much younger, carefree and at times her curiousity gets he better of her. This is one of those moments...

It is 11:50 pm, and following a hypothosis of her it had to be exactly twelve am for her to travel in time. Perhaps it should be mentioned that her career is in Horology. Shes co director of an elite team and just the other day, she recieved a note the other day at her desk, informing her she would be able to test the time machine out. Years of hard work would finally be worth it.

She starts up the machine and within second is was running, full power and brightly lit in the center where she would step in a few moments. She types in the time she wants to travel to and puts on a wrist band from which she could control the machine.

She smiles widely as the clock strikes twelve stepping into the unknown after the first strike she begins her journey into and unpredictable past.

Cyrus always lived a simple life as a farmer, and when his parents passed away he was left to run the farm on his own. His skin was left marred by the countless years toiling in the wheat fields. Today was the day of rest so his normally long black hair was tied up in a ponytail and he was dressed in a pair of slacks and a loose fitting shirt.

Today is always the day he goes into the city to sell his goods, and picks up the next weeks supply of food. " HEY Cyrus! when you going to sell the farm and come work for me. I'm sure the ladies wouldn't mind" The voice broke Cyrus' train of thought and was followed with a boisterous laugh and a smack square on the back. The farmer turned around and smiled. " Damn old man, when will you die and quit badgering me. Farming is in my blood, and I haven't found that right one." He let out a chuckle of his own and walked into the shade of the smithy as the other sat down on one of the benches. " Cyrus. If you are so picky, you'll die and the farm will be sold off anyway. So I think you could make great money off of it and come work for me, cause I won't live forever and this forge gets all the ladies to look at you." All he could do in response is shake his head and walk away. " I'll think about it, but I have to go."

He arrived back at his farm just around midnight and opened the gates to the house. With a defeated sigh he set his bag down on the porch and sat out by the stairs. " Why can't I just escape this place..." As soon as he finished he noticed a light form in the wheat fields and instantly set off to find out it's source, with a sickle in hand of course. It seemed unnatural.

Baylie lands with a thud that is sure to bruise. When she opens her eyes there is nothing but stars above her. Costalations so bright it is hard to believe. Around her field of view is quite literally a field. It is one of wheat right in the peak of harvesting. If Baylie didn't time travel she sure did end up somewhere new.

She stands up and attempts to see over the tips of wheat. Everything is dark with night and the moon just barley highlights the out line of a home.

She decides that will be her plan then. Head toward the home.

By the time she makes it half way, or atleast what she'd like to believe is halfway, her brain decides to remind her that sleep existed and is nessisay.

She pushes past another row and holds back a yawn. Hearing something nearby she stops.

"Hello?" She says hoping she'd get words as a response And not a growl or grunt.
"Who's there?" She says louder.

Cyrus froze as he heard another voice in his field. And a girls voice to top it off. " Hey. What are you doing in my field. It is private property!" The man yelled as he broke through the wall of wheat that was separating him and her.

Cyrus stops dead in his tracks, dropping the sickle with his mouth slightly agape. " How did you get here? What are you doing in my wheat field? Who put you up to this? Was it Jericho the smith?" The farmer drops down to one knee and picks up the bladed tool again.

"I warn you if you don't start telling the truth now. I will have to bring you to the guard."

Baylie is taken by suprise. Stepping backwards and the man lifts his weapon again. This was sure a great way to be greeted.
"My name is Baylie Thomas. I am from Atanta. At the moment I'm lost and all im doing is asking that you to put the sickle down and help me."
She said trying to reason. The man seemed upset. But then again who wants to be woken up in the middle of the night to a stanger on your land. She replays what he had said in her head. Jericho, gaurd... she beings to make a list.

"What Lordship is this 'Atlanta' under. Since I've never heard of it and I traveled a lot." Cyrus glares up at the woman before reasoning that he could easily take her if she did try to attack him. With a sigh he stood up and placed the dull and nearly decrepit weapon into the back of his pants " You aren't starting off very well. First that weird light, and now some weird place that I've never heard of. Why should I even bother with you?"

"The lord ship of John." She says stating her boss's name. It was the closest thing she had to a lordship, unless the president was a valid answer. "And Atlanta is in the New World. The one I came from. I'm here to learn of yours in hope to make mine a better place." She tries recalling the mission statement of her job. Something along those lines.

A better place; this was definitely not turning out to be one.
"Who are you?"

The Farmer began to laugh. " Your funny girl. Did ya hit the ale a little bit too hard at the tavern? New world? Like what. Some sort of distant island that is laden with resources or something? Jeez. Come along. I'd feel bad leaving a poor lass out here in the fields drunk." He carefully draped his arm over her shoulder and started to lead her towards his old wooden house that was set on the hill. Cyrus began to think about what the girl said. She spoke way to clearly to be drunk. Maybe she was just crazy.... Shaking his head he smiled. " Ah. Where are my manners. My name is Cyrus, Son of the Gromwell lands and soon seller. Might I ask your name...and please don't give me some crazy answer."

Shs sighs realizing she should go along with the man's assumptions. She didnt want to disturb any time spectrums. She follows Cyrus to his home, feeling a bit awkard due to the fact she was two or so sure inches taller than him.
"My name is Baylie Thomas. Is that crazy?" She chuckles a bit. "And i just hit my head too hard." She lies hoping it would be a good enough excuse for her lack of cultural knowledge. But at some point her attire would hint she wasnt from here. She highly doubts anyone in this era wore khakis, polos, or lab coats.

Cyrus felt little shame in the taller girl next to him, due to his intent facination of the clothing. They seemed elegant and yet not befitting a noble. " Yes it kind of is crazy. Though your attire is equally crazy. Are you a noble or something? your clothes are too clean and new to be a peasant...and yet they don't scream elegance so I'm not sure whether I should bow down to you or shirk you away" With a dissmissive glance he throws the sickle on the porch before opening the door. " Anyway. My house is your house, Baylie Thomas of Atlanta."

"Thank you." "I appreciate your generosity. And no, I'm no nobel. I just have a lord that treats his people like kings and pays them well." She says wondering how she could ever translate her life to him.
His home is small and dark. Nothing is clearly visible further than a couple of inches from a candle that burns on a table. She isnt terribly fond of the dark and considering all the sharp tools the man had around she didn't feel all too save either.
"Do you live alone?" She asks waiting nearby the door.

Cyrus nodded solemnly as if the girl could see him in the minimal light provided by the candle he left flickering before he left. He went around lightning the majority of the candles to kind of lighten up the space. " Yes I am. Been too busy working the farm myself to worry about passing on my genes. Figure I'll sell the land to the local Lord and make a small fortune. Though I would like to go to Atlanta if that is how this John pays." He chuckled. " we all live in the dark and in fear that the church will condemn us and banish us..."

"Right. Religion." She nods remembering once again how nothing scientific could be explained to him with out dishonoring his god. She was never fond of religion for that reason. Every kind she knew or heard of was contradicted constantly by science. She sat at the table hoping it was alright. She was much more comfortable where the light was.
"Lord John is a nice man of coarse but he isnt fond of the uneducated. In fact he requires all of his subjects to have schooling of some sort. However the church of coarse never liked him much for that."
She attempts to make sense and removes her coat and lays it folded upon her lap.

Cyrus smiled. " He seems like my type of man. The church never liked my family for our extreme views on the world around us. However if he is looking for knowledge, I can offer plenty. I spent the first 14 years of my like being tutored by the the very best the kingdom could offer, Then of course my parents died and the Church began to extend it's influence into the military... However I do consider myself extremely well taught for a commoner. " He went on to explain how he was taught under the princes tutor as well when he sat down across from her. " Would you like something to eat? I just brought another weeks worth of food so if you want some, don't be bashful."

"Oh no. It's much too late. But thank you. I'm honestly not sure how long I can stay here. I have to keep traveling. " she frowns a bit. Feeling bad. She couldnt do much while she was in these junctures of time. Any small thing could change a decision and that would just cause chain reactions.
"But please, can you tell me more of yourself? Your life sounds very interesting."

Cyrus smiled at the girls honest opinion. " It is no skin off my back Baylie, and sure I will gladly talk about myself. It was getting kinda lonely only having a smith to talk to." He laughed at his own joke before clearing his throat. " My family once was apart of the royal family in this area and this was their land. In all truth I haven't the most interesting life. My parents died and until I crossed the 18th year. Then the land was mine and I started farming, Living low since if I even try to move up the feudal ladder, I'll be killed by the church. But my life isn't that bad. I mean. I survive, I'm strong, and I..." He interrupted himself before putting his head down in shame. " I'm a shame to my family name. I should just die..."

"Now dont say that! Life's full of oportunities you just have to find them." She grabs his shoulder. "Like me, what are the chances of traveling the world and being payed for it? I just happened to be at the right place at the right time. Couriosity is practically my job. How old are you cyrus?" She wondered. He didnt seem all too old but life was short in this time, and perhaps he was right, he was running out of time...

Cyrus looked at the odd girl as she grabbed his shoulder. "I'm 25, the prime of my life, however I know I'll never amount to anything in the time I have left do to the fact that the church controls everything about my life anymore, and if I should rise even a hair, they'll end me." The farmer said darkly as it started to rain outside. Thunder echoed in the distance and lighting lit up the dark corners of the room. " Luck has never been my ally."

"They're a bunch of bullies aren't they?" She sat there in a slump. Now realizing she'd hate to leave this man in a grave state. She scuffs her shoe on the ground. "What could i do to help? Granted i cant change the world but how could i go and not repay you for your kindness?" She asked with a hopeful but nervous smile. She was getting herself into trouble again...wasn't she? Just like john had warned her not to do. Heck she even reminded herself millions of times. Just visit and leave. Dont talk to anyone or look for attention. So many rules instantly broken. "F*" she whispers to herself.

"It is no consequence. I opened up my home to you, You should continue on your travels for your lordship and your land. It should come before some lowly farmer like me. Though I suppose you could change the world Lord John could give us some money to maybe fund the Ottomans and their conquest of the church... They really need the money, and with out it, they won't last long." He sighed before resting his head on the old and creaky wooden table, utterly defeated.
