The year is 1934. The Dust Bowl is ploughing it’s way through the prairies, the Great Depression has it’s hand at the throat of the citizens, and starvation and disease has got a firm grip on the best of men and women alike. Everyone is scrambling about, doing anything they possibly can to put dinner on the table and make end's meet. Everyone has their reasons for their actions…and you have your own reasons for leaving home to join the traveling carnival.
Whether you’re a married man with children, looking for a way out of providing for his family or a rebellious teenager who’s tired of trying to farm barren soil, you’ve all joined Marston’s traveling carnival. Some of you may be new comers, others might have been with the carnival for quite some time. Regardless, you’ve all come together in the oddest way possible.
As if the times have not brought you enough turmoil, some other evil is staining the curtains. A few weeks back, while set up in Springfield, Illinois, minute but notable mysterious incidents occurred. Like the game tent that had somehow went up in flames. Or the performing horse that ended up with a broken leg. Thinking it was the city folk, the carnival packed up and went on to the next city. They wouldn’t have to worry anymore, right?
Wrong.
After one of the circus performers end up evidently murdered while set up in Bloomington, the workers have come to an alarming conclusion. The killer is traveling with the carnival. With this being the heart of gossip and other drama and hardships, the workers of the carnival are going to have to put on a million dollar smile to the public by day…while secrets, lies, and unholy indulges hide behind the shadows at night.
