Katrina, startled by Nicholas, looked up from her horse and stared at him.
“She has been my comfort over the years so I guess I’ve always just talked to her.” She said quietly as she realized how stupid she probably sounded to this man.
She lowered her gaze back down to Ebony and ran her fingers through her mane then smiled and looked back at him.
“She is a beautiful girl though, thank you.”

Katrina followed them into the castle and looked around as she finally took in her surroundings. It hadn’t been too long since she was here last but each time she came she was too worried about her mother to actually look around. Quickly she realized the amount of people that had surrounded them as they entered and she shifted uneasily under their eyes. When they were called off she felt herself relax a bit more only to be startled by the little girl that ran over to her.

Katrina couldn’t help but laugh when she was told she wasn’t very tall. Katrina then tried to answer the questions from the girl but found it hard to keep up.
“I guess you can call me K-“ She started before she was cut off
“I don’t believe I am me-“
“I would love to be your si-“
Finally Katrina gave up trying to answer the young girl and just laughed as she rambled on. When the servant came over and bowed to Katrina, she smiled back politely then looked towards Nicholas and Elizabeth. In times like this Katrina often wished she had an older brother who she could be such close friends with instead of her jealous sister.

Katrina couldn’t help but sigh as Charlie walked over to her and after he kissed her hand she knew what she had to do. She made it clear as she wiped her hand on her dress and then looked Charlie directly in the eyes.
“Listen, you’re sweet and everything but I have no desire to marry you. It was my mother and your fathers intensions but I don’t plan on following them. While I am here I plan on focusing completely on stopping this war from happening and if you try to get in my way.” Katrina paused and tilted her head to the side.
“I think you may find that my mother isn’t the only one with a temper.” With that Katrina smiled sweetly then turned and followed Silvia up towards her room.

Once in the room she made quick work of taking out the braid in her hair and running her fingers through it. She sighed as she scanned her new room and felt uneasiness flow through her body. She didn’t like this one bit but she knew it was what needed to be done. Katrina walked over to the window and sat down on the ledge as she stared out over the kingdom that wasn’t her home.
“Oh Gavin I hope you are alright and are treating our guest well. If she is feeling how I am feeling I only hope you are making her stay better.” Katrina whispered to herself then felt her stomach tighten at the thought of her friend, so far away.
“I hope you aren’t missing me like I am missing you dear friend.” She thought to herself with a sigh.

“I don’t think you wish to refuse the queens request.” Gavin said before Victoria made her rude welcoming.
“you’re just upset before you will never be a princess!” Victoria said with a wicked smile.
With that she then turned with a flick of her hair and disappeared down the hallway as Gavin let out a sigh.

He then turned to the princess and cocked an eyebrow as she tried to flirt with him.
“My name, princess, is not of importance to you at this time for I am only a knight of this kingdom. It is nice to meet you as well but you must know it is forbidden for us to do anything together.” He said as she watched her tighten her dress.
“It would be in your best interest to prepare yourself for the upcoming meal and forget anything about me, a servant will be by at a later time to get you.
Gavin then turned and walked down the hallway with a shake of his head.

“Yes Gavin, as a knight it is forbidden for a princess to be with you so stop thinking of the princess, Katrina, like that.” He thought to himself.
“Katrina, I hope they are treating you well in that kingdom, if I find out they laid even a finger on you there will be hell to pay. I do miss you and what you did back at the border…well I just hope no one saw or else there will be punishment.” Gavin sighed as he made his way back towards the other knights.
