Story
Ten years after the coronation of Princess Twilight Sparkle, the princess has been noticing more activity happening in the world of Equestria but, to her surprise, it wasn't some world ending threat. It was different species that littered the land much like her own race. Twilight Sparkle then set out, offering a hoof of friendship out the 'new' races of Equestria, hoping that they would be able to live in peace with ponies. So far, the only races that accepted her offer of peace were the proud and gentle deer-folk of Elkwood and the bipedal and strange saurian of Marshstop. The princess was overjoyed to hear that these people would gladly live side-by-side with the ponies.

After months of searching the new areas of Equestria, Princess Twilight Sparkle has realized that only one pony couldn't scour the world, exploring it's depths and learning about it's other inhabitants, this is when she established an organization called the Exquestrian Explorer's League. A home to all who wish to explore, travel and learn more about the vast world that they live in. As soon as the League was created and opened to the public, it exploded from the large amount of applicants that were as curious as the princess herself. By land, sea, or air – The League will find every place, artifact and race then offer the same friendship that Princess Twilight Sparkle offered to them. Set a course for adventure!

Map of Equestria

Race Info

Pony

The dominate and most common race of Equestria. There are three types to this race; Earth, Unicorn and Pegasus. In most of the newer species' eyes(besides the donkeys, griffons, zebras and deer), they're the most advanced given their trains, hospitals, and gorgeous cities. Something that makes the ponies and zebras special is that they are branded with cutie marks that dictate their special talent and their place in life.

Griffon

Arrogant and very prideful, the griffons rule the skies over the seas to the east with their high speeds and almost predatory behavior. It's rare that they come down from their mountain cities high in the sky, to mingle with non-griffons and pretend to show respect to them. Though most of their species consist of arrogance, there are few that are actually kind.

Donkey

The donkeys of Equestria are mostly unknown. Save for the few that actually made themselves apparent. Most believe that they're all cranky and pessimistic, rivaling or surpassing griffons in negativity. Though, like said griffons, there are a couple that are actually nice and somewhat positive.

Zebra

Unlike most of the races, zebras can populate almost any type of terrain thanks to their sturdy and strong physique. They are famed for their talents in brewing either medicine or tasty drinks that any would enjoy. And like ponies, they too develop cutie marks.

Buffalo

Proud, large and strong. Three words that best describe the buffalo of Equestria. Making their homes near Macintosh Hills and San Palomino Desert, which is strange to most as the terrain there is very hazardous. They are unique in the sense that they might be the only race of Equestria to have a strong religion as they worship the 'spirits' of the land that grant them prosperity and clarity. An interesting rumor that surrounds this race is that they live near these areas because they can hear the voices of their revered spirits.

Deer

They live in thick forests overseas to the east, often not having the luxury of houses like most. They are kind, and welcoming to most, but due to living below the sky the griffons deemed their kingdom, they are the most obvious targets for their bigotry. This has brought up bad blood between the two races. Thankfully nothing too serious has happened between the two groups, but some do worry that battle could break out sooner or later, and prepare for the worst.

Saurian

Bipedal reptiles that resemble most of Equestria's lizards. Their appearance varies from looking like dragons, to a simple alligator. No saurian look exactly the same, though those who take on more dragon-like appearances live with the real thing over the seas to the south-east, and ones who take on the alligator appearance are more prone to the much closer Hayseed Swamps.. Another thing that some ponies and zebras find interesting is that they are capable of using a brand of magic they call 'Swamp Magic', though this is limited to a handful of this race and is rare even among themselves.

Name: Armand

Race: Gator-Saurian

Sex: Male

Appearance:

Armand

Age: 30

Personality: Armand is a very jolly, happy and well, fat saurian. Always the life of the party or being chummy and friendly with everyone in his range. But, beneath his happy exterior beats the heart of a predator with an insatiable hunger for anything sweet and generally bad for one's health. Chocolate, cake, chocolate cake, Armand'll eat just about anything with high amounts of sugar. Especially if it's chocolate. Besides his gluttony and hedonistic personality, he also has a darker side much like all saurian. At times, Armand will lose his mind over the smallest thing, becoming enraged and wanting to fight the nearest living thing.

Reason for joining the League: Exploring the unknown and tasting it's food.

Bio: Armand was born near Marshstop, closer to the sea and Horseshoe Bay. This is where he became fascinated by the ocean and his future career of becoming a sailor like many other saurian from Marshstop. As the young reptile grew, along with his gut, his opportunity arose as he spotted one of the pony ships docked near the bay. It didn't take Armand long to go up and speak to the ponies aboard the large boat. To his surprise, they accepted him and didn't mind that he was a three-hundred pound saurian. After his years with the sailors and their travels over Equestria, Armand heard rumors that Princess Twilight Sparkle established the Equestrian Explorer's League. Practically ecstatic about this, the corpulent lizard made his way to Ponyville, joining without hesitation.

Name: Freya

Race: Pegasus

Sex: Female

Appearance: Standing at 4'3", Freya is a fairly built mare that has a healthy blue coat, usually appearing quite clean all the way down to the tips of her black hooves where the hair stops. Her mane and tail are a lighter black, her mane being short in length and usually rather rustled under her brown Newsboy Cap. Her tail is medium length, prone to swaying in the wind whenever she flies. Her eyes are a bright pink, and go well with the smile she usually has on her face.

Age: 21

Personality: Freya has a very positive attitude, appearing sweet, and light-hearted, for the most part. Until you get to know her, that is. On the inside, Freya is a very confused mare. Fighting a battle in her head, between denial from her past, and the urge to live life freely in the present. This can usually make for some awkward moments, as she wishes to find the love of her life from the past, but also wishes to find thrills while on that path. This causes her to be quite flirty towards the stallions she encounters, though when flirted with on occasions she can become very hostile, even to a stallion she had flirted with previously. With where she grew up, fighting is one thing she certainly is used to, and has no issue introducing anypony that invokes her wrath to Hoof #1 And Hoof #2.

Reason for joining the League: To find her boyfriend, or 'Big Brother' from back in Las Pegasus.

Bio: Freya grew up in the Undercloud. The large cloud that Las Pegasus sits atop hides a secret inside, a slum city that is home to the less wealthy of the big city above. She grew up without many friends, often being picked on by the colts around her. But he... He stuck up for her. The tan pegasus was cocky, his eyes shined like brilliant gold, and he was there whenever she needed him. They grew up together, like brother and sister. As they grew, Freya became more and more attached. He was like a big brother, but her feelings weren't that of sibling love. She wanted to be with him forever. She didn't care about how poor they were in the Undercloud, if there wasn't ever any sort of wedding in their future. Just staying with him was enough. To know he felt the same way, would have been a blessing.

But she never found out.

It was only a few years ago, honestly. The stallion of her dreams said he was going to get them to the top, they'd live a life like no other. He had a bit of a gambling habit, and usually went up to the city in order to play against the richer folk. He was a natural card player, often bringing winnings back for them to save. But one night, he simply never came back. Freya figured he had just had a really good night... He must have been planning a big celebration. But she woke up the next morning, and he wasn't anywhere. She began searching the city, and couldn't come up with anything. Her love had simply vanished, his parents didn't know, none of the big casinos had seemed to have saw him, and nobody on the street could give her any information. She spent an entire month looking for him, knowing something happened. He wouldn't just leave! Would he? The thought began making her go crazy on the inside. She packed what little she had, and set out into the big world of Equestria. He was out there, somewhere. She was positive of it. It'd just take a lot of effort to find him...

Over the past few years, she has found no trace. It has caused her to go into denial about him truly being gone. She was going to continue exploring on her own, until she learned about The League. It sounded interesting, and Freya thought that perhaps she'd run into her love if she ventured about. There might not have been much of a chance, but it was still a possibility!

Augh, now I have to decide between Unicorn, Zebra, and Deer. I'm thinking unicorn since I don't have any actual ideas for the other two... I'll start up a sheet for the unicorn, and if inspiration suddenly hits for one of the other two I'll go ahead and switch, though I'll keep the unicorn around if I decide to have two characters.

Name: Swifthoof

Race: Deer

Sex: Male

Appearance: Littlehorn stands at 3'11", being mostly brown in color with small white dots adding a pattern to his coat. He also has a vanilla line of fur going down his neck, to his chest. His horns are short, as is his tail, seeming more like a stub if actually observed, and he has blue eyes. He has a scar on the left side of his face from a griffon claw, and the only real accessory he wears is a red headband across his forehead.

Age: 19

Personality: Swifthoof is a dependable buck in his tribe. He often does extra work, ensuring the older folk to not have to work as hard, if at all. He is quite observant, and tries to be polite to outsiders. Though he has a strong issue with griffons, mostly due to the fact that they rule the skies that his tribe lives under, and they have no problem mocking him about it. He doesn't like the idea of combat, but will protect his tribe and those he cares about from anything endangering them. For one who acts fearlessly when others are in danger, he is actually afraid of more than a few things. He isn't one to speak about his own issues though, and keeps them to himself.

Reason for joining the League: To travel the lands of Equestria and learn about the world.

Bio: Growing up in the forests of Elkwood, beneath the skies of the Griffon Kingdom, Swifthoof was raised to be helpful to his tribe, and was trained in the way of close combat in order to protect it. There wasn't much to say, he lived day to day life, harvesting, patrolling, and dealing with whatever griffons came down. Most of the time it was just to mock them, though fights have broke out between Swifthoof and the griffons before, it never went far enough to do too much damage. Though once Swifthoof got slashed across the left side of his face. It wasn't enough to keep him down, or hiding. He continued his day to day activities, dealing with the griffons when he had to.

A faithful day had him summoned by the elders, in which a conversation took place that he didn't expect. He was, as they put it, the perfect candidate for an ideal project that they had. The discussions between the tribes of Elkwood and Princess Twilight Sparkle had given them ideas, concerning the Explorer's League. To learn about the world, they wanted a dependable member of the tribe to travel it and study the different lands of Equestria. Swifthoof was honored, and accepted near-instantly. It wasn't long after that he was packing up what he considered necessary, and traveled to the sea to board a ship to the more pony-populated area of Equestria. He has gotten a fair share of odd looks since his arrival, but understood. He wasn't from around here, in fact, he was willing to bet there weren't any of his kind around this part of Equestria. That was fine, though. Because that meant there was more of the new to see, rather than old!

Name: Forte
Race: Pony Pegasus
Sex: Male
Appearance:
Age:23
Personality: Forte is a rough and ready Pegasus that takes pride in his size. He towers over all but the largest of ponies, But despite this hes not arrogant, if anything hes guilty of being protective. He is a tad on the sexist side, but the little cloud skimmers are so small and pretty. Though it is a tad cliche, he is tempted to solve most situations with his strength as opposed to his head...though his head is notably solid. He is surprisingly well educated, but often would rather act ignorant so as to make brash decision.
Reason for joining the League: A feeling of obligation, and the aspect of finding new things is a regular "Thunderstorm!"
Bio: Forte was a tad larger from the get go..For a pegasus thats not the best thing, Particularly when learning to fly. And when your family are famous cloudshapers, and you can hardly sculpt a broken triangle...He was rather dejected. When his brother was born a unicorn and they had to move for a gravitational reason he found a setting where his stature was a blessing rather than a curse. He was even able to find his ability was not as his father and mother who did the delicate work of cloud shaping, rather he was given a Hammer and heat! HIs metal work is spot on!

And UGH! Now we already have two Pegasi! Curse my slow CS-making skills...

EDIT: I guess the character would still work as a Griffon, and we do need one. What do you guys think? Would another Pegasus be okay, or should I adapt the concept and make her a Griffon instead?

EDIT: And, yeah, I'm working on the sheet right now, have it about half-way complete. I made her fairly important, if that's alright (she's part of Twilight's branch of the Royal Guard, and the Princess asked her to join the EEL so that they'd be more prepared for any unknown dangers they might come across out there).
