The year is 2000; but not our 2000. It's still a year full of shitty movies, shitty music, and just shitty everything, but there's even more shittyness going on. If we want to know what in the hell went wrong and why 2000 is an even shittier year than it is, we need to go back to the 1932 presidential election. Knowing that he was going to lose, due to how large of a following Roosevelt was gaining, Herbert Hoover chose to rig the election so that most of the electoral votes would go to him and as such he would become president.

Without Roosevelt, America suffered throughout the depression, and was forced to sit out of World War II. Though the Allies did win, World War II didn't end until 1955 as a result, and then-president Dwight D. Eisenhower had to loan large amounts of money to England and their allies to pay for the cost of war. Because of this, large budget cuts were made, and law enforcement became almost non-existent. The crime rate sky rocketed, and any police officers who tried to stop it were either slaughtered or bribed.

For the next 45 years, mafia families, gangs, and just armed maniacs kept the law force at bay. Illegal drugs, such as marijuana, crack cocaine, and especially crystal meth were in mass production, and now it only takes about ten seconds of walking outside for a dealer to ask you if you'll buy something. The hub of criminal activity is a large city in Massachusetts, its real name being long forgotten, named 'Metropolis', surrounding it is nothing but a vast expanse of desert, God knows how it was made, known as 'The Empty', where most of the bodies are dumped or where people are killed. The police force was corrupted long ago by the ruler of the city, known simply as 'The Boss', but there are a few cops who won't (or just can't) give in.

And now, here you are; somehow you're rolled up in this massive cluster fuck of shit. You could be a gangster, working under the boss and going around shooting people and making deals that'll probably end with you pumping a sucker full of lead. Maybe you're a hitman, working for (and killing anyone who wrongs) The Boss. Perhaps you're a cop, who either refuses to give in and hunts criminals or is corrupted and lets those they catch go off free for a nice wad of cash. And lastly, it's possible that you're just a civilian, trying to live a normal life in a shit stain. Whatever you are, your story in Metropolis has an infinite amount of endings.

So... Yeah, this is Metropolis, the slash RP that ties several genres together, inspired by movies like Pulp Fiction and Sin City. Sign up is always open.
