He has a scar across his left cheek, where he was grazed by a sickle a few years back.
Profession: Formerly a sellsword with the Company of the Cat, Ser Aerion Goldfyre chose to seek better fortunes back in the ancestral home of his family and forbears, he is an anointed knight by a septon, and lays claim to House Goldfyre, a "legitimized" cadet house of House Targaryen, tracing his ancestry back to Aerion Targaryen/Brightflame.
Equipment: Wields the broken Valyrian Steel sword "Poison", a spoil of war during the peasant uprising on Bloodstone back in 322 AC. A suit of well-worn Plate mail, having seen many years, if not many previous owners, use. A custom-made kettle helm with a single golden dragon upon its top. Lastly, Aerion carries with him the ancestral token of House Goldfyre, a gold and silver dragon egg, passed down from father to son since its gifting to... or theft by Yna Ormollen.

Skilled Commander/Fighter - Having fought under the ragged banners of a few sellsword companies, and having been trained under an exiled Westerosi knight, Aerion earned his keep, and over the course of fourteen years, became respected enough to lead his own detachment of light infantry and archers. He has been particularly active in the Stepstones, being employed by local lords to suppress peasant rebellions.
Attractive - None can deny the tell-tale signs of ancestral Valyrain beauty that grace Aerion.
Quick - Aerion is said to be quick to learn, always hungry for more knowledge and understanding of the greater world around him. He has a deft understanding of combat and the tactics around it, can balance a ledger, and perhaps more importantly, how to stay out of trouble.

Aerion Goldfyre the Honorable traces his ancestry back through the ages to the illegitimate offspring of Prince Aerion Targaryen, better known by his moniker, Brightflame. During the Prince’s time in Lys, he bedded the daughter of Magister Collio of Lys, of House Ormollen. Young Yna Ormollen was deeply infatuated with this Targaryen Prince, and by the summer of 217 AC, she had borne two children to him. It was around this time that Prince Aerion had worn out his welcome, due to not marrying Magister Collio’s daughter, and the abusive nature of their relationship. Before he left, Aerion met with Yna one last time, and legitimized his children, or so the memoirs of Yna would lead us to believe. Another darker account is that Prince Aerion took young Yna by force, after beguiling Magister Collio into believing he was an honorable and up righteous man. As Prince Aerion slumbered, Yna Ormollen stole his dragon egg, and fled to the safety of her father’s keep, which led to the subsequent banishment of Prince Aerion from Lys, but the truth may never be known.
What is known though, is that Yna gave birth to two children, a male and a female, who were said to be as strikingly beautiful as their father, Aerion Brightflame. Baelon and Elaena Goldfyre were raised in Lys by Yna, who refused to part with them, even threating to leave Lys forever if her father had tried to take her children away. Being seen as bastards, it was hard to find prospects for these two children, but with time, both ended up finding suitors. Elaena would marry into the Rogare family, and her history becoming theirs. As for Baelon, he married the youngest daughter of House Sathmantes, the newly elected Magister of Lys around 239 AC. Ezzere Sathmantes and Baelon Goldfyre were married in a small ceremony, with only their families present. What can be said about the two, is that they loved one another with a ferocity that to this day may never be matched. This alone aloud Yna pass happily into the next world in 242 AC, knowing that her children had found love.
By 259 AC, Lys, and the region it neighbored, was vastly different. With the loss of much of the Disputed Lands to King Maelys Blackfyre of the Stepstone, the fates of Baelon and Ezzere Goldfyre, along with their three children, suffered greatly under the man who was known as Maelys the Monstrous. Before Maelys conquest of the Stepstones and the Disputed Lands, Baelon was given a lordship within the Disputed Forest. He ruled from his modest keep from 247 AC to 259 AC, when Maelys and his Band of Nine quickly conquered the region, grinding all resistance under their iron boot heels. Baelon fell in combat defending his castle from the invading Pirate Lords and their King. Ezzere and her three children were taken into captivity, in part for Lord Baelon’s fierce resistance, and for their blood connection to the Targaryen’s King Maelys was fighting against.
By the end of 263 AC, the surviving members of the Goldfyre family were freed from the dungeons of King Maelys Blackfyre. Ezzere had gone made with grief from the loss of her husband and her only daughter, Maegelle, and youngest son, Vaegon. The middle child remained, though forever scared from the tortures faced within the dungeons of the vile Maelys the Monstrous. Aeryn Goldfyre would look after his mother for the next thirty years, before she passed into the next. With his mother’s soul and mind safely in the hands of the Seven, Aeryn left Lys and the ruins of his family’s castle behind, traveling to the Stepstones to find himself a new fortune. In 299 AC, Aeryn Goldfyre would marry Alia Quanis, the daughter of the Pirate Lord of Wreckstone, Lord Khorane Quanis. Lord Aeryn Goldfyre would sire one child before his demise during the great autumn storm of 301 AC. His wife Alia would give birth to a sickly son in the dead of winter, one she would name after the very man who started the Goldfyre family, Aerion Targaryen, the Brightflame. Her husband had spoken of his forebears before him, and in his honor, named her son Aerion, after his Great Grandfather, Prince Aerion.
His childhood was comparable to any other disgraced noble family living in exile. Not great, but not bad by any means. By ten, he became a squire to one of the knights who chose to remain in the Stepstones. He was trained hard but fair, and was developed into the man he is today. Aerion earned his knighthood in 322 AC, after a particularly hard fought battle at Sunstone. It was here that he not only earned his spurs, but where he earned the title "Honorable". Aerion chose to not to raise to an undefended settlement, even though he was ordered to, sparing the lives of a few hundred women and children, and rather, met the enemy on the field of battle, and defeating the peasant rebellion's leader in single combat. He defeated their army with that blow, and at his own behest, the survivors were given a choice, serve in the Night's Watch, or face the gallows. A great many chose the Night's Watch.
Aerion is a driven and determined man, who seeks to erase, or at least mend some of the taint left behind by his family so many years ago. He practices his swordplay often, choosing to remain ever vigilant. And above all, he seeks to remain honorable to the very end, for a man without honor, as his mentor told him, is no man at all. Those words have reverberated within him for eighteen years, and remain a constant sense of duty and purpose within Aerion. With only his mother remaining aside from himself, Aerion gathered those few like-minded individuals like himself, and set sail for Westeros proper.
Aerion and his comrades in arms, the Band of Seven, sail upon a battered merchant vessel, carrying not riches or troops, but rather the remains of the families, the coffins of all those that came before them, with the intent upon burying them at home, on true Westerosi soil, whatever the consequences may be. But for Aerion, there is another purpose as well, and one that he has to see through to the end. Currently, the sit a few hundred meters from the docks of King's Landing, preparing to make port, and begin their journey for the next chapter in their lives.
