If they are powered by a god that would be more difficult. Though conablum labs has dealt with supernatural energy before. I don't know about the ethereal though. Plus it would be a different kind of energy then the one encountered in the deadland in the Rivardverse.
Right now the ethereal has the combined might of conablum labs and his own labs. It won't be too tough to figure out what he's made of and how to recreate it for their own purposes.
