I'm back from drill. I love you all.
Alright, I can finally post. Had Louis fall unconscious so that he can start to sober up. Also, drunk Louis has to be a reoccurring thing

YES. DRUNK LOUIS IS EVERYTHING I WANT OUT OF LIFE.

I actually really like our team's characters though. Especially Louis's dorkiness. :D

Edit: Also drill is done for two weeks so I'll be active. My next drill shouldn't be as busy, either, so I'll probably have time and energy to post then. :)
Lenna held Louis, and giggled.

"I wonder if he's being serious or not about the bunny stuff. I wonder if he even knows I'm mostly just telling rabbit jokes at my own expense," Lenna said with a fond smile, "Ah, well. Either way, you are a riot, my drunk and unconscious companion. I just hope you stay safe on the battlefield."

Lenna trusted Cecilia to take care of Elisha, and so stood up to carry Louis to a room. Lenna didn't know where his room was, so she figured she'd share a bed with him. The beds were supposed to be decently large, so she didn't see a problem with that.

Then she heard Vance speak, and smiled as she walked over.

"Now, sir, have some confidence in your allies. I mean, true, this guy," Lenna gestured to the unconscious dork in her arms, "is a bit of a dork, and...I don't even know what's going on with Catman over there."

Lenna gestured with her ears at Bart.

"But people will surprise you," she said to Vance.

She then glanced at Eve, "By the way, you are very pretty, miss. Would you guys tell me your names? I'm Lenna Underwood."
Mathew

Mathew remanifested in the apartment, forming into a medium height humanoid thing with no face and long, spindly arms and fingers.

"This place could use some tidying up, Alex," he scolded, before looking at the money Alex set aside.

"I may not quite approve of how you got a hold of it, but I do want you to know I'm proud of you for helping the church. Now, I'm going to make dinner. How does rhubarb pie sound for desert?"

The shambling, faceless horror that was Mathew tied on an apron and washed its hands in the sink, before it began cooking. More arms sprouted out of his body, before washing their respective hands and handling multiple jobs at once.

Eren

Eren hesitated, before sighing.

"No, they weren't clear, at all. I thought you were talking about the Hunter," Eren whispered, before setting off for the basement.

It irked her how terrible she was at working with her doll. She wished she'd not been forced into such a partnership. But then, if she hadn't met Nuul, she would have been killed by those dollhunters when she was a marionette.

What especially irritated her was that neither of them truly trusted the other. From what Eren knew, doll and master were supposed to be friends, at least. But Nuul, Eren just saw the doll as an asset, and an irritation. Eren's feelings about Nuul were a mixed up conviction of resentment, fear, irritation, fondness and bitterness.

Well, however she felt about the doll, she had to work with her.

Eren stepped into the basement, and saw Viper. The thug was on the ground, arms around his knees, breathing heavily.

"Viper," Eren said, "Are you ready to talk?"

Viper looked at him, blinking, as if surprised.

"I..."

Eren waited for him to continue, before shrugging.

"It doesn't matter, for now, come with me."

Eren went back upstairs, Viper in tow. Eren stepped quietly along the wall to her room, then opened the window. For some reason, without explanation, Viper was complying. He followed her out of the window.

Eren thought for a moment. She could take Viper to her father's, but that would put Dad at risk. She could use one of the abandoned warehouses nearby, but then how would she properly secure her prisoner in so short a time. Maybe she cou-

She felt hands wrapping around her throat before slamming her face first into a wall. Eren winced in pain, before biting down on her enemy's hand as hard as she could. He cried out in pain, and Eren followed it up with a flurry of punches to the face. Viper responded with one intense punch to the stomach, knocking the wind out of Eren's stomach, before lifting the detective and tossing her into the wall.

Eren fell to the ground, gasping for air, and Viper grabbed her by the throat amd lifted her.

he is yet to awaken...

Eren cursed her own thoughtlessness. Nuul had said he was ready to talk, and yet he'd been close lipped. Nuul had said he was unconscious, and Eren had disregarded that when she saw him awake. Eren had made stupid mistakes by ignoring her partner and not trusting her. Perhaps...

No.

Eren kicked Viper in the face hard, once, twice, three times. Viper became more and more dazed each time.

Finally, Eren slammed her foot into his temple and he dropped. Eren drew her pistol and aimed it at Viper.

Eren had always done best on her own. She wasn't going to reduce herself to bring some demonic lawyer's pet human. She would not rely on Nuul.

The man returned to consciousness quickly, eyes glowing yellow a moment.

"Tell me all that you know if you want to live," Eren said.

"O-okay, fine. Just please let the nightmares end," Viper said.

Eren knew she had limited time. If Nuul could defeat the dollhunter, that would be great. But if the dollhunter managed to escape, he could come across Eren. As she was, there was no way she could face a dollhunter. Hell, Viper could have killed her had he any skill to match his supernatural strength.

"Where can I find him?" Eren said.

"At this pub, the Alabastor Python. The bartender keeps an extra room for us. That's where I report my goings about, and where Mr. White, where he...where he..."

Viper looked at his hands.

"Where he made me a god," Viper said, suddenly grinning.

"Speaking of which, what are you?" Eren said.

"The future," Viper said, before standing up.

"Don't move or I will blow your fucking brains out," Eren said, cold and calm.

Viper began laughing, then stepped toward Eren. Eren fired into the man's skull, and he collapsed.

"...well, I have a location," Eren sighed, climbing back through her window.

"The trail's not cold yet..."
Eren considered his options. He had to somehow neutralize the dollhunter. He had his pistol, but not his knife. He was a damn good fostfighter, but he figured he'd rather not go toe to toe with that nail fist thing.

At the very least, his dress would get ripped. Worst case, his flesh would. Both were a no go.

So...an ambush. He'd have to ambush the man. But how? He could fire from the shadows, but if his initial few shots failed to take out the dollhunter, the retaliation could be quick and dangerous.

He almost flinched when the beholder landed on his shoulder, but then frowned.

Ready to talk?

Eren raised an eyebrow, and glanced to see the giant eye.

A lightbulb lot in his mind.

Eren trusted Nuul's shadows to hide him as he peered out. The moment the dollhunter moved, he would unload every bullet of his pistol on the man but two. Eren had 6 shots in the clip. If that failed, Eren would shot himself in the leg for the last one, grazing the flesh so as not to cause permanent damage. He would then limp out and act wounded, playing the part of a wounded hostage in order to catch the dollhunter off his guard.

Hooefully, the final bullet would and the fight.

Eren briefly wondered if he could gove the blood from shooting his leg to Nuul to power her grimoire. That could be a back up plan.

For now, Eren waited, pistol aimed and ready.
Yo, I have drill tomorrow through the weekend, so posting might be a bit slow yo fo sho bro.
"They went to the local church. There's a big event going on, you know. Wish I could have gone, but, eh, the hours are good, at least," Eren said, before smiling widely, "If that's all, then I shall return to my work. Thank you for stopping by, sir. Have a nice da-"

The blood curdling scream went through the house.

"That damn cat. I have to take care of that bye sir," Eren said, before closing the door. She immediately turned the lock and bolted it shut.

She grabbed her pistol from the kitchen table and loaded it. She briefly considered warbing Nuul, but decided against it.

She had never relied on an ally before. She wouldn't now. She could handle a solitary doll hunter.

She took cover behind a chair, cursing the minimalism of her house. There was so little defensive cover, and not much room to manuever.

She kept her pistol trained on the door, and listened. She kept an eye on the windows, just in case the dollhunter tried to break in through one.
Yo, I got drill this weekend so I might be busy, so I may be slow on posting yo fo sho.
Mathew

Mathew sighed.

"I suppose it's at least going to a somewhat good cause. But will you at least try to avoid fights in the future?"

Mathew gestured at the one man he'd knocked out.

"That man is going to have a splitting head ache when he wakes up. And honestly the guilt of that may or may not have ruined my whole day. But yes, homeward bound I suppose. I'll just stop existing for a bit and follow you. Remember that I AM watching though, Alex!"

Alex waggled his finger as if he was scolding a child, before melding into the earth.

This was mostly just a visual effect. In truth, he had melded partially outside of reality, as all dolls could. He wished he could just walk the streets, but sadly, his appearance was horrifying to most humans.

Oh well. Once they got back he could probably feed some of the stray cats that hung out in a nearby alley way. That would boost his mood.

Eren Deville

"Ah, I'm sorry sir, but I can't let you inside without proper identification. Why, the other day, silly me, I let this one man claiming to be a cop into the house. He made off with a small amount of cash. The boss never noticed, luckily, or, why, I might have gotten sacked!"

Eren was making up Cathy's characterization in his head as he went. He always was good at acting and lying on the fly. So far, he figured Cathy would be a ditzy type, but pleasant. Cathy would also be quite expressive, so Eren added slightly excessive body language to his speech.

He figured that if this man insisted on trying to come in, then he'd slam the door and grab his pistol from the kitchen table. He didn't like the idea of contending with a dollhunter when he'd already taken a beating from Viper, but he was ready to fight, in a dress if need be.
Eren Deville

Eren sighed.

"Are you really cutting me out of seeing this?" He asked.

"Whatever, I'll just try on the dress."

A few minutes later, he answered the door.

He took a lot of details in at a glance. He looked at the man's odd outfit and appearance. He glanced at the man's weapons, and noted anti-doll weaponry.

"Hello sir! If you're looking for my boss, they're out of the house right now," Eren said, "I'm Cathy, the housekeeper."

Eren hoped her Doll was keeping an eye on this. She didn't have her gun or knife, and if the dollhunter aggressed on her she'd have to hope her fists would serve to deter the man.

Mathew

"Money you got through gambling, Alexander!" Mathew said, "It's not theft, but it's still dishonest and dangerous. What if I were busy, Alex? I worry about you."

He paused, "And I've seen you do some unpriestly things. Especially when the fairer sex is involved. Bah, but enough of that. Just remember to behave, or I will stay as far away from that oven as possible."

By now, Mathew had shifted into his humanoid zombie looking shape, with rotted looking skin. He was actually perfectly clean and sanitary, though he didn't look it.
