Erica followed Lucien inside the house. She'd noticed the quest window with a frown and closed it out so she could listen to the others.

The young woman regarded the other three people with a smile before she sat down to listen. She helped herself to a cup of tea and didn't interrupt. It was just a struggle to keep up with all of the terms flying every which way.
Well, ok
Remi caught the smile on her Empress' face, and couldn't stop the one of her own. She was not one to understand the meaning of such a smile, it was not charged with sensuality, nor malicious in intent. In other words: it wasn't a Ra smile or a Yakoul smile. It was just...a Shoko smile: serene, understanding, and rare. It was pressed upon the young woman's mind in a way she wouldn't ever forget.

"Me too. We won't fail your vision." she vowed and continued to walk with the Empress. Her face scrunched slightly when Shoko asked her question. Virgin...such a strange word. A word that Remi had never learned until the queen told her of human mating habits. When... "...No..." the girl shook her head rapidly and placed her fingers over her ears. "No. I not. But...mate? No mate. I...not normal." she looked up at Shoko, meeting her eyes for the first time. Those piercing eyes were full of loneliness and sadness. "Not beautiful enough. Not good enough wife." these weren't even her own words. Someone who had spent time with her could tell. "Too stupid. Care too much for Bees. But, not bees. Hornets sting multiple times and don't die. Mine eat meat when grown, honey when large. Not bees...But...no mate for Remi. No one dumb enough."
Remi hummed yo herself quietly. She noted the others returning, but didn't bother to really acknowledge them. She was too deep in her mental thoughts on the best way to maximize her hornet's genealogy. Her expression didn't change when her empress approached her. Nor did it change when she was ordered to walk side by side with her.

Remi followed obediently as she listened to her Empress' questions. She frowned a little bit and tried to explain. "I...change Hornets. Bring back natural suzumebachi, but my strain." she smiles a bit. "One already done. Hornet with stinger like a scorpion. The venom is potent and can cause necrosis. File is on your desk." she gave a tiny little smile.

"But girl...girl is for hug. To feed, and read to me. She can be in the gardens, or in the kitchens, or just sleep in my bed. I...dont sleep much. I don't want my bed to be lonely. You call Yakoul pet. I want pet." she shrugged, it was the best explanation she could come up with.

Her eyes lit up when she felt the hornet on her ear, "Oh! Problem in Konoha." she let the hornet crawl onto her finger and looked at Shoko's face but not her eyes. "Konoha no bachi. Nest is made within urban areas, see coloring?" she points to the red orange and yellow stripes. "This mating drone. He never leaves the hive. If he leaves, he can't mate queen. See this?" she lifts it and points to a spot on the abdomen. There is a very minor discoloration, "This means it is mating season. Drone was forced from his hive, then separated from the rest. Pheromones mean Escape" she frowns again. "Konoha no bachi are not found in trees. They adapted to survive on Synthetic materials like cloth and in darkness." she pursed her lips and blew, but no sound came.

A few seconds later, three larger hornets landed on her finger and she stared at them. All four flew off together. "He mate with South Colony Queen. One of the brood will carry Konoha no Bachi's ability to track via fabric. North colony has a few hundred young workers and drones with two sets of mandibles. I separate them after you give your speech." she hummed. "Then mate those with the Scorpion Hornet specimens and a chakra specimen. A family of hornets carry their own chakra! An amazing find, and in the rock gardens. In a few weeks, that crop will be the first Shokobachi: A race of Hornets bred and cultivated for battle. Since they have chakra, I can make a contract with them. Well...theoretically."
"One of those 'trust in me things' huh?" she sighed deeply then bit her lip in thought. She didn't want to be involved in anything shady but...if people like them were being hunted, the young man in front of her was right. It was a risk, but so was leaving the temple.

"Alright. I'm in." She stood and followed him, "But this is a trial. I'll run with your group. When I actually understand what is going on, I'll make my final decision whether to stay or not. Sound fair?"
The girl startled a little bit and looked up in confusion. She blinked at what she saw, "I uh..." A certain French Duo was playing loudly in her ear, a nice long live version of a very old song many had heard of. "I'm Erica. I can't say I've been having much luck finding anyone like you." She frowned a bit, "Or me for that matter." she gave a shy smile.
"Um, you can have a seat. No one has sat here the entire trip." She motioned at the seat next to her.
Yes
Remi looked at the much younger Yakoul and couldn't help the snicker. "A pet, you are. Mine ? No. No, you'd hate to be owned by anyone not our Empress." she ran a hand through her hair and released the hornet from her scarf. It crawled along her neck to her ear then perched on the tip of her ear.

"I have my hornets in the Gardens. But, I would...want a girl. Like her." she motions to the woman. Her words came out a bit slower, she'd never really had to voice a desire. It was rare when she had one since she was generally easy to please. "Anyway, I think I'll introduce this drone to one of the young queens. Breed a new subset of Konoha no bachi. The size would fit well to create a new breed of Sparrow Hornets here. Perfect weather for them." she spoke quietly and ignored Yakoul's words.

She did give a sidelong glance to the cat creature and hummed, "I smell it. Smoke, blood. The drone flew from his smoked nest. His Queen is dead. Hornets hear more than most would believe...The Rebels have finally made an attack." She didn't seem worried, and instead put her hands in her pockets. "I've called to hornets in Kiri. They are known for their very...poisonous stings. Two hornet stings can kill a healthy man." she sounds a little gleeful. "Another drone. I'll breed him with another queen I think. Maybe with the Queen of the Sand Hornet. Powerful mandibles they have for digging. Can crush rocks twice their size. Hm...yes, my own swarm of hornets...I must asked the Empress if I can have the South Rock Gardens for nests. Maybe the pond nearby too." She says, off on one of her common tangents.
Erica sat on the train, headphones on her ears and blaring music. Her headphones were great though, so the music couldn't be heard except by her. She tapped her foot randomly while her eyes were closed.

The motion of the train was making her a little dizzy, but she was enjoying her last few months outside of the temple. Yes, she fought a lot of monsters, met a strange person, and was still coming to terms with her new life, but it wad better than spending all day in the temple.
Thanks. I'll post in a few minutes.
