Monofilament wire is a fictional wire that appears in a variety of movies and novels, including Hellsing and several other works of literature and animation. It's not real, if that's what you're asking. Now, if you were to run full force into a katana, the katana would be so sharp that your body would be cut to shreds. If you have a really sharp knife, you won't be able to exert any real force on it due to the fact that the edge is so thin.

That's what my searches came up with too. I'm cool with the wires existing since it's 20 years of Jack level science further down the road.
Still, shouldn't the wires weigh practically nothing? The katana cuts because it has some inert mass that needs to be moved by the body hitting it. To move the katana you apply force to it, and because it's on an edge it cuts. But the wire has practically no mass, other than the metal orbs that aren't connected to anything.

I think the wires would wrap around him, and then constrict him. Then it would cut him when he tries to break free. The wires digging deeper into his skin until they wrap around his bones and start to cut into that. He'd still die I think, but from massive blood loss all over rather than being.
A lot more agonizing than a clean cut now that I think of it.

Yes lets! Can we Books?
Magnus hung up and so Martin got himself to the fridge to grab a quick snack.
That's when he noticed something wrong. He stared up at his imaginary starry sky and watched as one of the brightest stars on his dark tappestry went supernova. Followed shortly by a similar star far away resonating to the blast.
"̢̀͡ One down... "̸̶̴͠

Martin stepped outside, the phone still in his hand (to the owner's dismay). He called a few vampire soldiers over and had them prepare an armored van and "̢̀͡ Stuff it with some weapons, soldiers and 10 liters worth of blood bags. "̸̶̴͠

As they drove over to where he felt the shock emanate from Martin handed out blood packs to the group of well armed vampires. They radiated fear and nervousness. Not knowing what to expect from this sudden mission.
"̢̀͡ Drink your caprisuns boys. It may be your last meal. "̸̶̴͠
The young blood vampires, some even younger than Martin himself, stared at him in dread.
Martin bit his index finger and presented a drop of blood for them to drink.
"̢̀͡ I can grant you a helping hand "̸̶̴͠
Fuck yeah! Overly dramatic rescue!
Sam's attention to the two wizards darting trough the sky was ruined when the massive speaker rose up from the ground. He braced for a shock wave of wubs that would make Richter shit his pants when he saw the speakers turned to Maria, and her expression to match.
Without thinking he dropped the spear and charged the stage, jumped, and pounced Maria off the stage just in time to avoid the core of the blast.
While not lethal, the edge of the sonic boom still flung them both across the room. Sam managed to break their fall from the worst damage but the impact with the cold ground still dislocated his shoulder.

"..."

The sonic clap had left their ears ringing, Sam tried to talk but no-one could hear him. Or anything else for that matter.

Kick the fake frenchie right in the cooch.

Sammy's too nice for that.
Rothe drew his path of lines into 'town' past his house in a crescent shape and towards the centre. There he drew a large circle and continued to the edge of the cliffs. Once his line was done he set up a sign post with the text. "Job opening: Digging crew." With detailed instructions under it, explaining the circle to signify a small lake and the lines to signify a two foot deep channel.

He looked at his handiwork for a minute and decided this would be clear enough.
"I think I'll go have a drink then check out that arena business."
