The massive monster followed Suzi from a distance, since that was a better way of thinking it than running from Abel.
A known threat was worse than a potential threat and in this direction were delicious shinigami. Easy choice. All he ever made.
Before the Gillian arrived on the scene the arrancar had already been cut up and the mysterious girl disappeared.
If it hadn't been a Gillian it might have sought out her spiritual pressure. But then it would know to stay away.
So either way the Gillian turned it's narrow attention to the shouldering pile of Arrancar. It could regenerate, It might survive.
The Gillian figured this out simply because this is what the two surprised shinigami figured, they dried to coup de grace the creature before dealing with the Menos.
The Gillian had different idea's. One of them was called Cero.
While not as lethal as hoped, this got them to take a step back. This let him perform his second idea.

The Arrancar was slowly lifted up in a square pillar of yellow light while it clung to life.
The shinigami both attacked the Arrancar but their blades couldn't slash trough a place that didn't exist.
The Arrancar was safe in another dimension. Well... Safe...
