I am going to try my best to keep Iraq in-character per say without drifting into the realm of "Saturday Morning Carton Evil" or having my own personal bias against Ba'athism effect internal affairs; so, needless to say there will not be any sporadic proletarian revolutions occurring much to the dismay of working class peoples. It should also be noted that I am not going to let convenience dictate how events unfold in Iraq as that will be determined by either preexisting tensions or in-game happenings; so, no Saddam will not be killed by a pack wild boars.

President Saddam Hussein's Address to the Global Community on the 9/11 Attacks

I speak for all Iraqis’ when I say; America we too know what is like to be deeply damaged by the fanaticism of others. However, while I am deeply saddened over the loss of life the fact of the matter is that frankly the United States Government as an independent entity does not deserve the condolences of the Iraqi people or any peoples of the world as it continues to violate the sovereignty not only of the Republic of Iraq, but of other nations as well. As the leader of this great nation I can personally attest to the fact that the United States Government and their Zionist puppet through the use of covert mechanisms against this year’s harvest are responsible for denying bread to the mouths of starving Iraqi children.

Thusly, I warn all nations against rushing to make statements or adopt resolutions, which intrinsically support the United States’ use of unregulated force in response to these attacks; lest you wish to see these mechanisms turned against yourselves. America needs an influx of wisdom at this time not unbridled power; if we the global community deters an absolutist response Washington will have to turn to more sensible ways of dealing with this grievous crime rather than spilling of innocent Arab and Muslim blood.

To those grieving this day remember that God has created us, and to Him we return. May God give you long life.

Brewing Tensions in Iraq

It seems like Saddam Hussein and his Ba'athist cohorts are taking this brief relieve from underneath the proverbial magnifying glass of international scrutiny to revert to their old ways. While Saddam Hussein claimed to speak for “all Iraqis” in a defiant speech addressing the 9/11 attacks he made earlier today, it now seems his administration is posed to cleave off the majority of subversive elements according to a leaked memorandum issued a few days prior. The document in question addressed the question of identifying and dealing with so-called “enemies of the state”, identifying three bastions of opposition to the current regime; Shi’a groups in the south, Kurds in the north, and other suppressed opposition groups including the besieged Iraqi Communist Party. If this ends up being more than just Saddamist rhetoric it would be suffice to say that these are the tentative first steps of a state that has never maintained control over the situation in Iraqi Kurdistan. It is no longer a question of if violence will occur, but rather when.

At times Jareth can be rather sycophantic using false flattery and other means of verbal or emotional trickery to get his way…in essence he is merely a very well-practiced liar. When it comes down to it any naturally observant or cautious person can see through this façade, but in the end it comes down the individual in question and their perception of falsehoods… free will and the such; if the person is easily duped or desperately wants to believe what he is telling them is true, then chances are that they could become entangled in Jareth’s web of lies. It would be best not to trust him in any capacity unless you concretely hold something over him, but sometimes there is no changing people.

Alright, reworded and relegated to Jareth's reliance on manipulation to the personality section as after a lengthy deliberation I could not justify it's existence as a proper power; apologize about the confusion as I did not mean for it to give off mind control-esque vibes. I also enjoyed Justin Carmichael's comedic portrayal of the character in Suburban Knights ;it is rather disheartening to think of his passing.
Name: Jareth, the Goblin King

Age: Immortal or Maybe Just Extremely Long Lived (Return to Labyrinth States His Reign Has Lasted at Least 1300 years)

Gender: Male

Species: Fae

Appearance:

Powers:

Jareth has been losing his powers ever since Sarah once again left the labyrinth, so most of his more questionable powers have been lost to him; here is a list of what powers he retained since the end of Return to Labyrinth.

Shapeshifting: Can change himself into a white barn-owl.

Short Range Teleportation: As seen in both the film and its manga based sequel Jareth possesses the unique ability to move instantaneously from one location to another on a whim.

Empathic Perception: Again evidenced by both the film and subsequent manga Jareth showed that he could interpret one’s emotions and desires with relative ease. While this more than likely helped him retain the throne of the Goblin Kingdom in lieu of any great political aptitude, he primarily uses it as a form of entertainment; promising one their greatest desire and holding it out of their reach amuses him greatly.

Faction: Factionless (By Choice Mind You)

World of Origin: The Goblin Kingdom

Personality: Jareth has many facets to his personality, On one level he resembles the trickster archetype that is found within many Earth legends as he is quite fond of games of chance and is prone to making deals that those who summon him end up regretting; he is rather mischievous at times. In this regard he is known to give one worthless advice or information that seems profound or noteworthy just for kicks. On another level he relishes in his cruelty, for example he enjoys tormenting his underlings and those that enter the labyrinth with his powers; he extremely enjoys finding one’s breaking point and exploiting it until the victim in question bends to his will. Like most beings in a position of monarchal power he is known to be proud and arrogant; he is a sore loser and can be rather vindictive if beaten. However, despite the aforementioned aspects of his personality deep down Jareth has a lover’s heart and this is his proverbial Achilles heel; find the key to his true affections and he is powerless to oppose you.

Backstory: With all the power accumulated in his drawn out existence he failed to make Her stay twice…he gave up paradise twice; it had been years since Sarah(living a subdued life as school teacher) once again left the Goblin Kingdom and he was once again powerless to stop Her. This fact in particular immensely bothered him, it irked him so much that he abdicated his throne and went into a self-imposed exile; he sincerely hoped his former regime plunged into unadulterated chaos in his absence as She had the gall to choose the lives of his idiotic subjects over spending forever with him. In his exile he visited many different worlds and experienced a plethora of wonders; yet nothing compared to the happiness he briefly known. Any goodness She had unearthed under his well-polished façade was eventually relegated to the farthest reaches of his subconscious as he traveled from world to world spreading his misery. Nowadays he only felt alive tricking fools into chasing their greatest desire before pulling the proverbial carpet out from underneath them and watching them sink into the clutches of disparity. Jareth is unsure what drew him to “Museum Island” as he normally avoided Earth for obvious reasons, but he assumed that it was a good as place as any to cause some mischief; taking the form of the white barn-owl he perched himself on a branch surveying the landscape.

Quote: “Even when the stars fade into nothingness and the planets fall out the heavens; a voice will still reverberate across space and time proclaiming our shared greatness in face of all the adversity that currently surrounds use. I am sure we can be heroes…just for one day.”
Intriguing; thought of Rocket Man when I read the introductory blurb.
