I knew it. "Yeah, where should we go? The mall, the park, the movie's, somewhere else?" Allie asked. She then quietly looped her fingers through Virgil's and squeezed his hand.
Allie leaned on the wall next to Virgil. "So..." she trailed off, nudging him gently in the ribs with her elbow. "Who do you like?" she asked, since he hadn't responded to her touching his hand.
The last bell just rang.
Allie hid a blush. Virgil had to be talking about her. Who else would he have a crush on? She'd been with him pretty much all day, and he never spoke about anyone else. And she did catch him looking at her. She mentally slapped herself. How could she have not noticed it before? She admitted to herself that he was pretty sweet, and she did admire the combination of his blonde hair and striking blue eyes. Why shouldn't she go out with him? Allie placed her hand on top of his and smiled at him. When the bell rang, she stood up, standing by him, waiting for his reaction.
No, not yet, anyways.
You haven't missed anything. We're all still in class.
Allie grinned. "There's nothing wrong with me. What about you? Is there something on my face?" she teased back, referring to when she caught him staring.
Allie looked at Virgil and caught him staring at her. She smiled warmly, totally oblivious to his obvious feelings for her. "Is there something wrong?" She then looked at the new girl and smiled.
