I am Amaranth, witch of the wilds. Through shadow and legend I walk, haunting mortals like you. So... Are you a vulture , I wonder? A scavenger poking amidst a corpse whose bones have been long since cleaned? Or merely an intruder, come into this darkspawn filled page of mine in search of... a bio?

The solar flare idea is a good one. Not catastrophic enough for full on Armageddon, but dangerous enough to cause planes to go down and rescue to be awhile. I think it should be a public flight though.
Maybe we won a contest? It could just be a smaller flight though. I like the idea of an electrical disturbance, and not to turn this into an apocalyptic scenario, but making it a state-wide possibly nationwide event would eliminate that plot-hole, plus be really cool at the same time.
I think I'd prefer more modern but oh well.
