Centuries ago when Charlotte was an average human being, she practiced some sort of medicine created out of herbs and other vegetation to help the ill. At the time, she had not practiced any form of "witchcraft" spells, merely relying on earthly materials and little charms she made just to boost her morale. Her interest at the side of medicine was in discovery of the unknown and possibilities the future held, curious of the composition of matter, how they can interact with the other, the outcome of certain events and such. Thus she created various medicines and treatments of sorts through this curiosity, results of experiments after experiments. The people were grateful of her services but did not utter any word on their worry of the girl's eccentricity and how they were cured of their sickness as if by "witchcraft".

One day, a circus visited their simple town, showcasing a variety of fantastic tricks to bring laughter and smiles to the townspeople, including Charlotte, the curious one. The flawless performance of such dangerous acts intrigued her greatly on how they were able to pull them off so magnificently to the point of resulting her in approaching the crew after show hours. With the interest being evident with the countless questions she threw at the crew member, he spilled the secret of his talent. Charlotte was astonished into complete silence. Power. Gained just by a contract with the one he called "The Keeper".

Upon returning home to her household, her mind was plagued by the thoughts of what the circus member had told her earlier. Was it not considered witchcraft? If so, how were they able to escape the clutches of the witch trials? Is it worth serving The Keeper for eternity for keeping such power? If she had the chance to earn such power... Her train of thought was interrupted abruptly by a late night visitor, inquiring for a cure to a common illness. Charlotte being half absent minded while reaching for the compound in a dimly lit room, her hand grasped on the wrong bottle, a substance still undergoing experimentation. As the patient, who was accompanied by a family member, drank the liquid and reacted oddly before she collapsed on the floor with a loud thud, the body covered in awkward colors and the face expressed pure pain.

A shriek. "A witch! A witch! Charlotte was a wicked witch after all!" Being a simple, small town, the shriek and screaming of the woman echoed throughout the vicinity. Not long after, the villagers were out of their homes with burning torches and weapons of sorts, from pitchforks to knives. The accused maiden immediately sprinted out of her house and out of the town with a heavy guilt in her heart, there was only one place she could only think of seeking refuge at the moment, the circus. It hadn't been too long before the circus had left, if she hurried, she could hope to catch up to them. If her fate was to be sealed by the burning, crimson flames for a misunderstood accusation, she would rather give up her freedom. After what seemed to be like forever of running and heavy panting, light from a lamp hanging from a carriage illuminated through the darkness and carriage wheel noises were heard not too far away. Her arm reached forward as she neared, her vision started to blur after she felt a warm grasp on her arm, and the rest, as they say, was history.

It had been dead silent for a couple of minutes now, what exactly was she seeing? The man's interest was piqued when the female fortune teller showed clear signs of shock, the widely opened purple eyes and the flinching from out of nowhere. Before he could inquire her of what was it that she had seen, her purple orbs gazed up directly into his eyes as her lips parted to speak, "Sir... I do not mean to frighten you, but do listen to me carefully. Your near future is shrouded in total darkness after a flash of crimson. By this, I mean it does not hold good fortune for you and perhaps I can offer you this to ward off any foul omen."

The man left the fortune teller's tent with a charm in his hand which had a bell and a peculiar logo imprinted on it. Skepticism were written all over his face as he stomped away in disbelief, out of the circus grounds. That lady must be mad, he thought, as his life had always been in the right direction, all the riches any commoner would want were at the palm of his hand. Yet she told him otherwise to his face, preposterous. He had hoped of a fun 'charade' of clairvoyance from the maiden, the man hadn't believed in such non-sense to begin with after all. Out of annoyance, he threw the charm on the ground and stormed away to his vehicle. That was such a waste of time, it was slightly entertaining while it lasted at least. As he drove away, he stopped his vehicle at the stop light of the crossroad with a slope and brought up his phone to ring an acquaintance.

Being too busy with earphones in his ears while listening to what the person on the line was saying, what the man didn't notice was that a run away truck was sliding down the slope behind him at a great speed, gained from the momentum of the slope. Civilians who saw what was about to happen screamed and shouted at the man, only to have him notice a second too late. CRASH. A scene of dancing crimson flames was the last sight he saw.

Jack the Ripper

Name: Thomas Howard (a.k.a. Jack the Ripper)

Biography:
Before Thomas became the infamous Jack the Ripper known as the grotesque serial killer who was never caught, he was a doctor at a hospital, long time ago. He lead a relatively normal life, average family, tolerable, high paying job, good background from medical school, and a lovely fiancée. As a medical professional, he was dedicated to learning and applying his knowledge on the human anatomy, always striving to learn more and more about it as he conducted surgeries in the hospital. One fateful day when he had ended his hospital duties early, he decided to surprise his beloved with an unannounced early visit which ultimately turned out sour.

Before knocking on the door of the fiancée's house, the young doctor overheard two female voices, one of them evidently being his beloved's. Figuring it would be rude to interrupt their conversation, he delayed his entrance as his attention slowly started to purely focus onto the content of the two's discussion. They were talking about how much money they've made the previous night. Then his fiancée proudly flaunting the money earned... from a rich old geezer? Just as Thomas convinced himself that he had heard enough, the last words he heard from her before he left the premises were "Being a prostitute makes money this easy!" with both of the ladies laughing in agreement.

That night, with a hidden scalpel in his jacket, the doctor confronted his beloved about what he had heard earlier that afternoon. Things lead to another in the argument until she screamed furiously that she had only agreed to his marriage proposal to leech money off of him, a young doctor, then leave him for good. SLASH. SPLURT. Then total silence. Except for the loud thud that had followed. Something inside Thomas' head cracked as he chuckled softly, with his bloodied hands trembling violently, until it became a loud cackle. After years of studying and working to save lives, this was the first bloodshed he caused without any intention to save a life. The crimson liquid on his hands and on his fiancée's neck down to her chest, which dyed her white dress red, thrilled the man.

With his new motivation to rid the world of these filth known as prostitutes, he killed one after the other until his fifth victim without having Scotland Yard catch him. He was swift with his cruel deeds as he was an experienced doctor, he knew how to get the job over with in a matter of minutes and gone as fast as he came. After his fifth victim was killed, a circus had come to visit the city. Not that it mattered to 'Jack the Ripper' in any way but what piqued his interest was the rumor he had heard about earning immortality. An actual chance to get rid of filth for as long as he wanted and to be able to travel around to make his 'job' easier.

And so he vowed his loyalty to "The Keeper" in exchange of his services to shred and rip apart his enemies with the guise of an immortal knife thrower.

The little girl seated at the audience box clapped, thrilled and nervous for the lady being strapped onto the circular board. 'All of these circus people are trained professionals, they'll never make any mistakes!', the girl convinced herself such.

As the knife thrower raised his hand with short, glimmering metal, he picked out one of them with his other hand and flicked his wrist in a quick motion as it flew towards the lady. The little girl's heart thumped loudly, she swore she could hear them loud and clear at that moment as she clenched her fist and the other hand wrapped around it tightly in anxiety, as tight as her eyes shut closed at the deciding moment. THUD. Her blue eyes peeked open, to see that the knife had pierced the wooden board. But it wasn't over yet, after the first throw, the grinning knife thrower threw knives one after the other in quick movements. THUD. THUD. THUD.The crowd, along with the young child clapped loudly at the performance, none of the knives have made their way on the girl's skin or clothing. Just when the performer had ran out of knives between his fingers and everything seemed to be over, he took out a couple more from a hidden compartment of his jacket and snapped his fingers. An assistant approached the wooden board with the young lady and spun the wooden board like some sort of wheel of fortune but in this case, a wheel of misfortune. The audience and the little girl gasped out loud at the escalation of the danger that entailed the poor lady on the wooden board. To top it off, the knife thrower teasingly covered his eyes with the palm of his other hand. The child couldn't take the thrill and covered her eyesight with her little hands. THUD. THUD. THUD. THUD. ... Suddenly, a loud, roaring applause.

Upon uncovering her eyes once more, the little girl's eyes immediately darted towards the wooden board with the lady. And she was safe. A splendid performance! The risks were high yet the knife thrower pulled it off! The lady on the wooden board was released as she and the knife thrower both took a bow together. The child clapped as hard as she could, amazed at the talent the blond man had. There was nowhere else in the world she could see a show such as this, and a memorable one at that.
