Hello Hello!!

I'm here on weekends to put aside adulting and get a little more story in my life.

Adventure, well developed characters, stories that can take years to write, with lots of back and forth between us, that is how I role-play. I fall into the casual category when it comes to post length.

No Smut.

I also exclude frequent foul language, horrific gore, and mature romantic content.

I firmly believe that stuff is unnecessary. Let's keep the fight scenes PG-13 at worst. I write no worse than I read, my favorite books being Lord of the Rings, Pride and Prejudice, and Sherlock Holmes.

I'm always in the mood for not modern. I love steampunk, medieval curses, fantasy adventures or a nice spaceship.

Andrew glanced back over his shoulder to see Angel coming behind him and grinned. He looked ahead at the road but that grin wouldn't stop. She was following him again, he wondered just how much more of her life she would spend following him given the chance. He walked straight through the village.

People recognized Angel and smiled called out to her asking if she has managed to kill the monster yet.

Some looked at Andrew and recognized him as the man who looked much like his father had looked as a young man. And they knew he had been a monster. Those asked Angel angrier questions. "What is he doing here? Why didn't you kill him?"
Andrew had looked back at Angel as she answered and smiled.

The woman rejoiced and filled their bowls again, hoping to keep them eating until her husband arrived to hear the glad news himself.

Andrew protested more food, he was eager to get back to his home and sleep for hours upon hours. "Thank you Ma'am, but I must decline. There are others to tell." He nodded at the hostess and then at Angel.

He had no idea what Angel's plans were now. She would need to be paid of course. She would be celebrated. She would be pestered with questions about her heroic acts by the villagers. Or she could simply leave.

He was going to leave, and stood up, showing himself out. Saying another "thank you," from the doorway.
Every one of the hinges on the mammoth doors had been oiled within the last two weeks. Octavia had come over to the hangar one morning to ask advice from one of the pilots about flying her hot air balloon near a canyon. Then she hung around and helped sweep dust until everyone went away for lunch and she had the room and an oil can to herself.

Last Thursday Octavia hid in an air balloon basket in another hangar until dark. She snuck to the Orion's hangar much like they had done tonight. She set up a ladder and climbed each rung painfully slowly to reach the upper hinges and clear the track above the door along which the accordion doors folded.

The cables stop the doors were well maintained so when one door moved it's partner mirrored the movement. It was a simple and effective design father had borrowed from mother's drapes. But even with the pulleys, it required more force to open two doors than one.

Tonight Octavia walked along the doors pushing one corner out a few inches, pulling the next corner in, pushing the next one out. Not much. Just enough to give her peace of mind that nothing was going to jamb and stand in their way.

Mr Fischer's voice seemed to signal the adrenaline to start coursing through her. Octavia wedged her shoulder against the edge of the door and pushed against it with all her might. Slowly at first the door began to roll along it's track, the partner opening as well. She gained momentum and the doors buckled and folded to the sides just as they were designed to do. They thudded into place against the walls fully open.

Though the process was effective, it could not be considered silent. Octavia turned and ran for the Orion. "They're open!" she called.

She side stepped one of the cables and realized to her horror she hadn't released any of the mooring lines yet. She hadn't released the Orion! Was that her heart thundering in her ears? Was that footsteps? It didn't matter at this moment, what mattered was loosing the Orion.

She crouched down and started the untying of the line from the mooring. When it was free she left it dangling from the Orion and moved forward the next one. They could pull them all up later.

Almost immediately she growled and threw up her hands. Octavia pivoted on her toes and hurried back to the first line and gathered it up. She tossed it up over the orion's railing so it wouldn't be in the way when Max tried to get the ship out. Then she went to untying the second line.

These little delays were beginning to drive her crazy. She had this theft so carefully planned out. Why couldn't she stay focused and calm and just get it done? She was wasting too much time!

"For Hubert. For Hubert." She whispered to herself pulling apart another knot. The plan was still working, she just had to keep moving and stop spinning her gears.

The shadow of the security guard appeared in the vast open space of the doors. Octavia cringed, they were so close! The guard hadn't made a move yet, probably adjusting his eyes to the light Octavia guessed. She unwound cord frantically.
The woman at the cottage welcomed Angel and gave them both food before pressing about what has happened. Andrew ate quickly, delighted to eat bread and some stew and be warm and satisfied. Not thirsty.

The woman waited until three hunter and the man has eaten before pressing Angel with questions.

"We worried you'd never come back. Did you do it? Have you saved us? Is he dead?"
"You lead. They'll be glad to see you." He said stepping out from behind the tree. They would probably be scared of him. But he did follow Angel to the house for some much needed food, help for her leg, and to pass along her news.
Octavia pressed her fingertips against the door, fighting the urge to scratch an uncomfortable itch on her head that was stemming from the inconvenient truth Mr Fischer pointed out. Not that this was unexpected. But she had planned for the patience to wait for an opportune moment to sneak past the guards. She was far too excited to wait patiently when they could make the opportunity themselves.

"Outside the gate, so he's not investigating on the grounds," Octavia suggested. She took her key from her pocket, calmly, carefully turning the lock in the knob. As soon as the guard was away they could rush inside and lock the door from the inside. Then it was on to preparing the Orion as much as possible before opening the wide hangar doors and getting the ship out and up in as little time as possible.
We're both tired, Andrew thought leaning back against a tree and stretched his arms out in front of him over his knees.

It was a long and very slow journey, but finally the pair made it out of the woods. The first buildings of the town could be seen through the trees, the road running past it, smoke coming through the chimney and the smell of something cooking drifted on the breeze.

It was a welcoming sight, but Andrew worried no one would welcome him. He stopped, hiding behind a tree out of sight of the house.

"Do you think they'll be able to trust me? Believe that you killed the other monster and pay you? Let me live? Even if they don't let me live here, at least I can live, if they don't capture and kill me themselves now that I'm not in my castle. Do you think they'll believe you if you tell them what happened?" He had all kinds of worries eating at him but had put off voicing them to Angel until right now when it couldn't be avoided any longer.
@Vampiretwilight do we want anything else to happen in the woods or just to skip and say eventually they made it out?

Is there anything else you want to happen in this story?
Andrew stood and carried her southeast. He said as much attention as usual to the roots and shrubs, but this time it was to protect himself from tripping, to protect Angel, than to protect the plants. He made it farther than he had expected to get, but had to stop and sit down a while afterward.
Andrew looked over his shoulder at her. He adjusted so his back was facing her again.

"I don't have to. But I want to try to do something to help your leg. And there isn't much of anything I know, except offer to carry you a little while. I doubt we will get very far. If your stubbornness can keep us moving without further damaging your leg, I'll take it. I'm serious, hop on."
