This is an unfortunate (and somewhat disappointing) turn of events.
This game is going to quickly degenerate into Planet of the Apes if pursue this path...

National focus: Train bears for combat

According to Outcast, national focuses always succeed to some degree, so...

Bear infantry, pls.

Inb4 Russia arms whichever ships are left in Alaska, and refits them for combat or as blockade-runners and catches the blockade by surprise. Meanwhile a counter-offensive with bear-mounted Russians retakes the port from land.

If the Russians come at us with bears, they can have whatever land they want.

In order to win the war and actually contribute to Allied efforts, they have to cross all of it. Most dissidents were sent far north.

Shutting down East Russia is a good enough contribution, tbh, especially since it contributed to the full blockade and brings Russia one step closer to defaulting.

Because most siberians are neither. Most are ethnic Russians in good standing with their government.

Circa 1850 and along the Sino-Russian border?

In outer Manchuria, but not any farther.

And why not? You are a native of Siberia or a political opponent of the Russian Empire. China and Japan come invading with the intent of kicking Russia out of the region, and what are you going to do? Probably, you're not going to do anything, but you're certainly more likely to support China and Japan over Russia simply because they're the enemy of your enemy.

Everyone calm down

This is actually a really civil discussion. We don't need to be afraid of conversation just because there have been some spats in the past. In fact, it'd be really silly to not discuss this game in the OOC.

They're not any more likely to support the Chinese and Japanese.

Yeah, but this is a war for retaking Outer Manchuria, not Siberia. With this logic, guerrillas would be more likely to support anti-Russian invaders.

You way overestimate China and Japan. The Russian Far East is the finest territory for guerilla operations in the whole world. Invading and defeating Russia from the east is impossible.

Guerrilla operations loyal to the Russian Empire, though? Russia had a nasty habit of exiling people disloyal to it to Siberia, and combined with the native population, I don't think there are that many pro-Russian Empire inhabitants, at least not enough to make a meaningful difference.

They live there. It will be like the Boer wars but 100,000 times worse.

No it won't because China isn't invading Siberia in a war of conquest. They're waging war against Russia for Manchurian-populated lands in the East.

It would make more sense for guerrillas to side against the Russian Empire, all things considered, e.g. Russia's crippling debt, the large number of exiles and political opponents, the number of people who aren't of Russian descent, etc, etc.

Basically this. I don't think that China or Japan can do anything else aside from having taken Vladivostok. I mean, are they going to force march through Siberia? They'd basically kill their soldiers so they can say they have control of basically nothing.

That's more or less all there is in East Russia except to sweep the provinces along the Sino-Russian border and put holes in whatever progress Russia made in the Trans-Siberian Railway which, btw, runs along this border to Vladivostok.

Actually invading Siberia isn't necessary. Any armies that are moving through the region are more numerous in population than entire regions.
