That's a hell of a lot worse than what we are asking. That's like half my turf!

It was going to be a bit more complicated than that, but it would have amounted to "Westphalia" becoming a state and then Mecklenburg and possibly Saxony getting annexed to you. Either way, the purpose of the treaty would have been to create a third German state. The "western half" was a bit of an overstatement, but it would have essentially been Rhineland, including Luxembourg and German parts of the Netherlands plus Hanover.

Had the war gone on long and bloody, one side would have been totally eradicated. This is best for the sake of the RP.

Not necessarily.

Our demands would have amounted to turning the North German states into a third independent power and then establish a Polish state out of Russia.

Once the ACW is settled and if Aegon loses is he even allowed to just switch to another nation or does he get sent back in the queue?

I'd assume "killed" players get priority.

NarcolepticSailor said There was a collective alliance throughout the entirety of Europe and a council that basically wouldn't allow any war in Europe at all and if one started, they'd get dog-piled be all GPs. I didn't think it'd need much of an explanation as to how this could prove detrimental to the development of the NRP, it'd make everything way too quiet at a time period where such a thing shouldn't even be possible. There should be conflict in Europe that doesn't automatically draw everyone into the pile, there should be isolated wars between a few powers, but not all of them.

From my perspective, at least, it went down something like this...

I approached France for support in case either of us went to war with Prussia. When Prussia aligned with Russia, I aligned with the Ottomans, enemy of my enemy, and all that.

I'm not exactly sure how the Conference of Constantinople came about. I wasn't even going to attend it until I found out the other Great Powers were.

From the start of the game that alliance was basically stalling the progress of this NRP.

Okay, I think we're pretty civil, but I don't appreciate this accusation. What does this mean?

The Coalition wins, it's the Allies who are getting nothing out of this (except a lot of dead sons and fathers). The Prussians are a step closer to forming the German Empire, and the Dutch can now form Greater Netherlands. All the allies get is a bunch of dead people. Seriously, you should have kept fighting, France. Your move didn't just cost everyone the war, but will put you all at a severe disadvantage for (probably) the remainder of the RP. The Coalition has practically won the game.

Yeah, France just gave Prussia the German Empire. That's not exactly the game, but it's still a major blow to the balance of power.

Hmm... This throws a major wrench into my plans moving forward... Someone should form a third (major) German state that I can take over.

This was the idea. France and I would have taken Hanover and the Western half of Prussia and re-established something similar to the Confederation of the Rhine or the Kingdom of Westphalia.

Had Russia caved, we would have also carved out a Polish state from Congress Poland and the bit of Polish land in Austria.

On top of that, had we forced Italy into something more than a white peace, I would have demanded Lombardy and then established Veneto-Lombardy vassal state between the two of us.

The exact borders were still up for discussion, but it was what we were discussing.
I think France would be more interested in stalling Germany's foundation. Backing down now is essentially letting Prussia found a world power right on its doorstep.

Yes, we should.

Yeah. I'll let you do the honors of starting a private since I imagine you have something in mind here. Just do me a favor and add Outcast to the conversation and presumably anyone who has vested interest in our negotiations.

Well, that's anti-climactic. Seems like the French are being pretty soft here. I mean, I'm not sure they should have joined the war to begin with, but if you're this far in you might as well commit.

It's pretty logical that they'd want to join this war.

This war is more or less a combination of the Austro-Italian War, the Austro-Prussian War, and the Franco-Prussian War. Austria-France and Prussia-Italy are the logical alliances for an 1861 game unless any of them have particularly unorthodox or alternative ambitions.

At least, that's what makes sense from a pragmatic point of view. Austria and France both have vested interest in preventing from Germany from being established.

Ampharos, are you now willing to yield, or must we push this further than necessary?

I know when I'm beaten. I suppose we should open up dialogue?

Treachery cuts both ways.

Weirdly enough, Greece approached us after he announced his desire to switch sides.
