Today is a day of sadness. It is the day I quit partaking of the drink of my lord and savior, Lord Coffee Bean. I shall be very grumpy for the next three weeks.

Genres/Other

I'm all about that fantasy. I can mix it with other genres, such as sci-fi, slice of life, etc. but I generally stick to fantasy settings. As long as something supernatural or mystical is afoot, I'm interested. I generally like adventure, exploration, and conversation more than action and fighting in my roleplays as long as everyone is having a good time. I enjoy tabletop RPGs such as Dungeons & Dragons, Scion, Dungeon World, and Ryuutama.

Arcana (Featuring Cecilia and Simon)

Sunlight splashed against her face, causing Arcana to nearly zoom out of bed, her hair floating every possible direction as if it had a mind of its own. Her baggy t-shirt slid down one shoulder, exposing glimmering pale golden skin; she was the picture of a bedraggled student. For a moment, Arcana nearly forgot where she was, but her ears perked upon seeing an elegant form standing near the window. The form's small hands held the rope that usually kept the heavy curtains tied together, indicating that it was the source of Arcana's awakening. 'Is th-this my roommate?' Arcana thought, suddenly aware that she hadn't had a chance to introduce herself yesterday. The young harpy had spent most of her day after the opening ceremony in the library so that she could research Grey. She had made it one of her missions this year to figure out the origin of their Headmaster, so much of her attention was focused on that she had all but forgotten she even had a roommate.

"Hello there! Sorry to wake you up this way, I couldn't wait to say hello to you." The elegant figure said, a girl by it's voice, hiding a small giggle behind one of her dainty hands. The muted sunlight streaming through the window behind the girl made the her features nearly impossible to see, save for the pearly horn protruding from her forehead beneath shining blonde hair. "Oh, how rude of me. I should properly introduce myself." Her delicate form moved from the window, coming into focus for Arcana. The girl had soft blue eyes framed by long lashes and fair skin. She held out a hand for Arcana to shake, a small, yet polite, smile on her lips. "I'm Cecilia, nice to meet you."

Cecilia's refined nature caused Arcana to momentarily lose herself, staring at her roommate in awe. A small little noise from Cecilia, accompanied by an encouraging smile, brought Arcana back to reality. The young harpy reached out nervously, her hand slightly shaking as Cecilia bridged the gap to gently take Arcana's slightly larger hand in her own dainty ones. "You don't need to be nervous around me, I don't bite," Cecilia said, her hands felt warm on Arcana's, "Well, at least not too hard." Cecilia finished with one of her small giggles.

"I-I-I-" Arcana started, her cheeks flushing crimson, "I'm s-s-sorry. I'm Ar-Arcana." She stuttered, her cheeks growing even hotter. Cecilia only smiled, as if Arcana's stuttering didn't bother her in the least, or her poor introduction. "No need to be sorry, it's great to meet you, Arcana." Cecilia's eyes sparkled as she spoke. And then she gently let go of Arcana's hand, trotting to one side of the room to a small kitchen. "Tea? I have some jasmine, acai, chai...?" Cecilia offered as she brought out a delicate porcelain tea set. The two roommates spoke over breakfast, prepared by a giggling Cecilia after Arcana proved to be particularly clumsy in the kitchen.

Arcana had finally found a new friend.
Arcana burst out into the air, her elation evident by her looping spirals in the sky. She wore dark brown linen shorts and an earthy green tank-top, perfect for her first day in Gardening Club. Her wild golden hair was tamed into a french braid, courtesy of Cecilia. 'She's so amazing!' Arcana thought giddily, remembering her morning with her roommate. As she came out of a tight loop in the air, she heard a loud thumping sound below her. She peered down curiously to see a herd of galloping quadrupeds rocketing their way through the school grounds. Arcana looked into the distance, seeing that their path seemed to take them dangerously close to the gardens. They all seemed to be part of a club, she realized as one of them shouted orders at the rest. Arcana wondered who the one lagging so far behind was: he didn't appear to be wearing his team-jacket like the rest. Curiosity took over, causing Arcana to follow them overhead.

Not long after, she lost sight of them in the greenery of the gardens. She followed them down, twirling this way and that to make her way through the branches of towering trees. She arrived in a small glade surrounded by big-leafed plants, but couldn't see any of the four-legged creatures she had been following. It was quiet, she realized. She perked her tapered ears up, trying to listen for a sound.

...ump...thump... Thump... THUMP

Suddenly, she heard thumping fast approaching her location and she barely had time to turn when a chestnut-haired creature leaped over the leafy plants surrounding the glade and slammed into her. "OOF!" Was all she could manage to say, the air thoroughly knocked out of her as she got tangled around the front-side of whoever-it-was.
I could totally see the last one as Cecilia, so pretty~
Arcana (Featuring Grey)

As students filed in, the din they made seemed far-away to Arcana, whose eyes couldn't be stripped away from the stage, not even to say hello to the new students who sat to the left and right of her. Her curiosity about the Ruler of Ouroboros - the Headmaster they called it - was boiling over in her brain, her attention for all else was nil. Suddenly, the noise dulled as a singular voice demanded attention, a voice so beautiful, so kind, that tears threatened to come unbidden from Arcana's eyes.

On the stage was the most incredible being Arcana had ever seen. The being had the fairest skin, so pale it glowed. Long, pure white tresses of hair trailed behind it on the stage, save for what was held in two looping buns atop it's head with ornate hairpins. It's flowing robe was made from the constellations, each star glimmering as if it was in the night sky as Arcana gazed at it. Floating behind the being's head was a golden ornament shaped like the sun with its many rays. Beams of light from the sky overhead falling upon it's form only emphasized the perfection of the being.

"You can call me Grey! First things first, as I see some whispering going on, some of you may have noticed that your friends and companions are seeing me as something different than what you see."

'No one else can see what I see?' Arcana thought, shocked. She looked this way and that at her fellow first-years, but everyone wore a different expression. She could only imagine what her own face looked like right now. As the speech continued, she gripped her braid even more tightly as her heart attempted to leap from her chest. She stayed that way until Grey's voice magnified, cascading over Arcana in waves. The once heart-strikingly beautiful being grew in size before her as it spoke, somehow morphing into a hulking white-furred creature with red paint across it's forehead and glistening fangs. It's mouth was impossibly big, a gaping black hole threatening to swallow everything before it. Arcana hands let go of her braid as the strength drained from her body.

"We do NOT tolerate intolerance. You will represent your species and yourself with the utmost pride and respect for others. There will be no fighting. There will be no discrimination. Those who break this rule will face the consequences of their actions. NO exceptions."

Just as quickly as Grey had morphed, it changed back into the painstakingly beautiful being from before. Arcana let out the breath that she had been holding, feeling suddenly intensely fatigued. Silence had fallen across the colosseum, the absence of noise only heightened her nervousness before Grey spoke once more, to officially welcome them to the academy. Arcana sat, stupefied, as other students milled out around her after a roar of applause exploded from the stands. She barely registered walking out of the building; she kept turning her head to catch whatever glimpse she could of Grey in the throng. One thought was on her mind:

'What kind of creature is our Headmaster?'

Sorry for writing so much but omg, I was having a bunch of fun tormenting Anais. Also, if any of you actually read my post, I totally got the whole 'my umbrella!' thing from Velma from Scooby Doo, lmfao.

Hahahaha, yeah that's exactly what I envisioned. XD It was so adorable to imagine.
Arcana, Ajala, Shippo, Lilith, Nathalia, Fiona

Arcana gripped the pen Ajala handed her with a tenderness, writing down her information on the form in flowing, but none-the-less precise, handwriting. A smile played on her lips as she leaned over the piece of paper, making doubly sure that she had written everything down correctly. With a small nod at her own work, Arcana handed the completed form to Nathalia, the latter of which who was leaning against the booth with an appraising look in her eyes as she listened to Shippo's commentary. "Why yes, the greenhouses are, if I may say so myself, quite lovely. They house all sorts of magnificent flora, the likes of which would cause you to pause in wonderment just to gaze upon their natural grace." The nymph said dramatically, before she pushed away from the booth with ease. "I believe it is starting soon, you little blossoms will just adore this part of your first day." Nathalia concluded, giving a smile that included Lilith, Shippo, Ajala, Fiona and Arcana. As if on queue, the speakers buzzed to life. Two broadcasters gave instructions to all those in the commons. "Time to get slithering along, wouldn't you say Ajala?" Nathalia gave a small eyebrow wiggle and playful grin to Ajala.

Arcana was too nervous, her heart all aflutter, to say anything to Ajala or Shippo when she started on her way to the colosseum. All she could manage was a small, nervous wave good-bye before she was pulled into the current of the crowd. The gargoyles, with their banners rippling in the wind, made excellent markers for her and everyone else to follow. Seeing them above the crowd made her itch to be airborne, wheeling through the sky unrestrained. The feel of wind against her face, the stretch of her wings...

Before she realized it, she was up in the air, higher than the gargoyles, her wings easily bringing her to the height within seconds. The air and sun kissed her face and whipped her hair behind her, and she closed her eyes to envelop herself in it's embrace. The weightlessness of being up in the sky, of having more control over herself here than on land, was exhilarating for her. She opened her eyes to see the sprawling colosseum in the near-distance, it's grand marble columns inviting her to play among them. 'It's so beautiful!' She thought in amazement, eyes wide. Unable to contain herself, she pulled her wings in, causing herself to go into a downward spiral toward a copse of trees. They seemed to come up at her dangerously fast, then just as easily she pushed her wings back out, catching herself as her clawed feet brushed tree-tops. A merry laugh escaped her lips, the excitement of the day getting the better of her.

When her feet were back on land again, and she was situated in her seat in the lower middle section of seats, she felt just as elated as she was in the skies. What would the Ruler of Ouroboros say to them? What would they look like? Would there be magic? Or duels? Or magic duels?! Arcana was insatiably curious, her whole mind seemed afire with questions. Her legs wouldn't hold still, causing the talons at the ends of her clawed feet to click on the marble floor repetitively. Her hands gripped her braid, eyes intent on the area before her.
Arcana, Ajala, Shippo, Nathalia, Dantus (cameo)

'H-he really told me his name! He didn't ignore me!' Arcana thought in shock as butterflies swirled around in her tummy. Her mouth formed an "O" as she tried to think of something else to say in response, the tension between them becoming uncomfortable. Her fingers danced around her ring, almost yanking it off in her nervousness. That was when Ajala came to the rescue, trying to ease down Shippo and diffuse the tension. Arcana felt some of her anxiety melt away at the nagini's calm words and voice. "I cer-certainly didn't w-want to hurt you..." Arcana mumbled apologetically, looking down at the fliers in her hands. The Gardening Club's flier showcased an overview of the school gardens, highlighting plants such as the mandrake and athelas at the bottom and top of it respectively. 'I wonder if they have snapping dragon tanglers here?' She mused, remembering her favorite plant from back home.

She was pulled back into reality, away from her musings, by Ajala turning to her and offering her a place in the Gardening Club. "I-I-I-I-I-I-yes-ohmigod-please sign me!" She stammered excitedly, her words fumbling over each other. Somehow Arcana hadn't realized that she could join the club until Ajala had offered. She was beside herself, hopping from foot to foot, but was soon brought out of her reverie by a booming voice looming over the commons. She ducked down reflexively, eyes darting every where all at once to find the source. 'No yelling, no yelling, no yelling!' That singular thought repeated in panic, her shoulders shivering as she hunched over her knees. She hated aggression, or anger. They scared her more than anything else. "I re-really don't wanna be here anymore, miss Ajala." Arcana said weakly, tears forming at the corners of her eyes.

Suddenly, Nathalia was patting Arcana on the back to soothe the young harpy. "That old bag of bones is just puffing himself up, don't you worry about it Arcana. He'll stop soon." The nymph said sweetly, her hand warm against Arcana's back. Nathalia turned to Ajala, a serious look in her gaze that belied her sweet tone. "Ajala, dear, would you mind signing Arcana up now? And perhaps Shippo, if he would like to join? But that's up to him." Nathalia added with a wink to the kitsune in question.

Well I'm waiting on people before I can post again

Sorry about that, I replied. I take too long to write replies ;^;

EDIT:

I'm heading to bed now, I'll be back on to reply to the new posts late tonight/early tomorrow morning. Have fun everyone!
Arcana, Ajala, Shippo, Nathalia

Arcana's cheeks shimmered noticeably crimson as the boy bent to pick up the papers and stammered his own apology. She was about to tell - no insist - to Shippo that he shouldn't be sorry. 'I should have been paying attention to where I was going!' She thought admonishingly, tugging on her braid. Before she could get the words out, before she could even think to open her mouth, she found herself holding a burgundy cloth to her bleeding nose and being comforted by a very pretty nymph. "Whabufrgle?!" Arcana squeaked, her surprise slow to react and her nose too plugged to speak right. She managed a stammered "thank you" when the nymph handed her, her fliers back. But as the interaction between the nymph and nagini began, Arcana's head wobbled back and forth to keep track of who was speaking, the din around them pressing down on her tapered ears oppressively. 'Ajala... Such a pretty name.' Her thoughts trailed by slowly. Her head felt as if it was in the clouds. In contrast, her stomach felt like it was down in the pit of doom, nausea from her nerves acting up once again. She placed her palm against her temple, trying to calm herself, taking a few deep breaths.

She barely realized she was holding the new flier when Ajala spoke up, explaining to them what the Gardening Club was. Arcana's whole face came alive, her lips spreading into a wide smile as she flapped her wings exuberantly. "Y-y-yes! Show me every p-plant you have! Th-thank you!" She gushed out, enthusiasm dripping from every word. In each pot an exotic plant grew, vines and flowers twining and sprouting at awe-inspiring angles. Arcana's heart thumped in her chest as she knelt down next to one of them, her eyes sparkling. "These are in-incredible! D-don't you think so as well...?" Her enthusiasm slowed down as she realized she never received the boy's name, her fingers immediately started to fiddle with the ring she wore, a nervous tick of hers. "I-I'm Arcana, u-um, who are y-you?" She asked, cheeks shimmering crimson once more as her eyes darted to Shippo's face and then back down to the ground.
To be honest, I've been up all night trying to draw/color Arcana. It's been taking up all of my attention, I should have gone to bed atleast six hours ago.
