I'm proud to say that I only received one C though (ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha DON'T TAKE CRITICAL THINKING CLASSES IF IT'S ASSOCIATED WITH THE BIBLE.) I also worked way more than I needed to, so that kind of took over my life as well.

Cosima, a hybrid, was born with attributes familiar to both Wood Elves and Naerse Humans. Her skin is known for its silken qualities and milky color, pale and sickly-looking to others. Her nose is defined and small, like her elven mother, and her cheekbones high and marbled. However, her lips are shapeless and plump with a tendency to sweat, much like her human father. Her eyes are a deep, sorrowful icy blue with thick eyelashes that curve upwards. Underneath her eyes are sleepless bags, evidence of her many insomnia-ridden nights. Her ears do not have the point that most elves have, but instead are small and round compared to her face. She has the long, curling tendrils of her mother but has the dark brunette color and thickness of her father. In build, she is most like her mother, having a tall, slim build rather than the stocky squatness of her father and stands at 5’8” compared to her father’s 5’6” height. Cosima is typically seen in armor, but when she is relaxing she likes to don simples brown breeches and silken shirts with vests. Cosima hates wearing shoes, liking the feeling of grass on her feet – as such, her feet are calloused and rough.

Short Bio:

Cosima was always told that the love between her mother and father was beautiful. The little hybrid was always told stories about the heart wrenching passion that Fiske felt for Kasula. It was a forbidden romance as Kasula was already promised to an elven warrior and Fiske was married to an herbalist with a child on the way. However, each parent had a very different version to tell.

When fiske would gather Cosima into his lap, near the fire and a dog keeping them company, he would tell her of the pure, whole some love he had for her mother. He would start the tale out simple:

“Once upon a time, I was in Shimmerstone, visiting from the small town I lived in. I was making a delivery for my wife, Gunborg. An elf had heard of my wife’s expertly grown herbs and wanted a delivery of Hyssop. I arrived to the city – as beautiful and breathtaking as it is today – and immediately went to the client’s house. It was small house, with flowers hung from the windows in all colors. I knocked three times – only three times – on the door before a beautiful maiden opened the door. She had gorgeous silken hair made of pure gold and skin crafted from ivory. She smiled at me, sweeping back her arm and inviting me inside. I could not help but accept her invitation and I wandered inside, dressed in nothing but greased breeches and a torn, dirtied shirt. She fixed me tea – now that I look back on that time, the tea tasted quite awful, but when she asked, I could only say it was better than my wife’s. She introduced herself to me as Kasula Brushbrooke, soon to be Kasula Guilain. I still remember the sharp sting of disappointment in my heart. Despite the knowledge that it could never happen – me being married and she engaged – I still felt a flutter in my chest when her soft, unworked fingers grazed my own calloused ones. That afternoon we talked for so long, I had almost forgotten to give her the herbs. She took the package from my hand with such grace and her palm caressed mine. She must have been embarrassed as to having forgotten as well – she began to ramble about how she was having shortness of breath. Before I left that night, I promised I’d be back again with the best of Gunborg’s herbs to cure that nasty ailment of hers. And I did. Several times, matter of fact.

For years I visited her, we only talked those nights – I had meself a wife and a son, I couldn’t just very well throw that away, now could I? Still, it felt wrong to lie to Gunborg like that – and several times I had the mind to leave Shimmerstone and never come back. Kasula didn’t have need for my herbs anymore anyways and I had met her fiancé – Ruvaen, I believe his name was. He was a honorable lad, that one. Took care of Kasula as if she were a queen. But every time their wedding drew near, Kasula would postpone it. She says she wasn’t ready, but I think I knew the truth – she wasn’t willing to let me go.

The night you were conceived, I had come to visit Shimmerstone to deliver some motherwort and to finally end the friendship – if you could call it that – between your mother and me. But I just couldn’t do it. The sight of her took my breath away and I ended up forsaking my family that night. Later, when we discovered she was pregnant with you, I knew I had to leave my family back at the town beyond the mountains. Ingolf cried for me to come back and Gunborg ripped up her garden in anger, throwing the shredded pieces at me. But I wouldn’t change my decision for the world. I love your mother, more than I love life itself, and if I couldn’t be with her, then I’d rather have died in the mountains. You can imagine that Ruvaen wasn’t quite happy with your mother and me, he did quite like her, but he couldn’t very well marry your mother when another man’s baby was in her belly, now could he? Living with your mother, waking up every day to see her glowing face and tasting her awful tea, being the father of you…it’s the most blessed thing that has ever happened to me, love. I wouldn’t leave you two for the world.”

Of course, Cosima’s mother had another story to tell her daughter whilst lying on the floor in black, staring into the depths of nothingness:

“It’s the most wretched thing I have ever done, Cosima. Our love was not magical, it was not blessed – it was a consuming poison that blinded us and tainted our hearts. Love is a dangerous thing, dear. It’s a curse placed on us, a punishment. Yes, we were happy for a time. But was it worth it? Was loving your father worth this anguish in my gut, this hatred in my heart? I should’ve married that damned elven fool while I had the chance. Never love, Cosima. In the end, you will only be dead inside. In the end, you will only be alive and miserable while he’s out there somewhere being reborn as a herbalist’s husband. He never should have left her, or his son. I reckon she’s dead now, too.”

After Cosima’s father died, Kasula never left her abode in Shimmerstone. But instead wept and slept all day and all night. Her ex-fiancé, Ruvaen, eventually moved in to take care of the eight year old Cosima who did not quite understand what was happening. Perhaps out of a sense of duty to him, Kasula married him and lived her life as a shut-in seamstress. Ruvaen often entertained Cosima with tales of her father, Fiske, and his beautiful love for Kasula, but Cosima could sense his own heartache. They were never allowed to talk about him when Kasula was near and they avoided the house all together when they smelled the burning aroma of horribly brewed tea. It meant that Kasula was in an especially bad mood.

Ruvaen, a warrior, taught Cosima the art of fighting. He showed her the ways of the bow and the sword, but Cosima demonstrated a predilection for maces and axes. She enjoyed throwing her whole body into the movement rather than the graceful dance that Ruvaen liked. Ruvaen became much like a father figure to Cosima and he supported Cosima in everything she did, taking care of the family despite how Kasula and Fiske had wronged him. He never had a love or a child of his own, but instead his heart yearned for the bitter and cynical Kasula who he knew was further from his reaches than ever.

When Cosima was twelve, Kasula moved the family to New Sanguine, Djarkel on a whim. Ruvaen told Cosima that he believes it was hard for Kasula to live in Shimmerstone, where everything reminded her of her father. In Shimmerstone, Cosima had friends and was treated only slightly differently because of her hybrid nature. However, once she moved to Djarkel, Cosima experienced a harsher discrimination where people avoided her like she had the plague. People never outright said anything to Cosima, but it was obvious that her presence wasn’t wanted in Djarkel.

Cosima eventually grew up to be a bounty huntress, tracking down criminals in order to get fees to support her mother. Ruvaen continued to watch over her and her mother, working his own odd jobs here and there. He became a collector of sorts for information. When Cosima was tracking down a murderer, she went to Ruvaen for information on her bounty. He helped her track her mark down, but was called away by Kasula who needed Ruvaen to fetch her silk to make clothes from. On her own, Cosima fought against the murderer before he held her head underwater, attempting to drown her after her weapon was knocked away. When Cosima believed she was on the verge of death, she felt energy awaken inside of her and she was able to grab a rock and beat the murderer to death with it. With her mageblood unlocked, Cosima went to Ruvaen for advice who advised her to go to the college.

Good Attributes:

As a half-elf, Cosima possesses a nimble body, able to climb just about anything as well as move swiftly and quickly. Nonetheless, her ability relies in her obstinate way of fighting. When battling, she fights like a berserker, throwing everything she has at once. She batters her enemy until they give up and is proficient with maces and axes. She has a sharp sense of sight and hearing, though it is duller than full elves, and is a master tracker.

Bad Attributes:

Conversely, when fighting, it is easy to predict Cosima’s movements and those stronger than her can quickly overpower her because of her way of fighting. She is clumsier than her brethren and tires quickly when fighting. Her opponents only need to outlast her in order to defeat her or get her away from her weapon. Cosima is horrible at travelling and has no ability on a horse, and is rather scared of them, really. She is also apt to get distracted easily.

Personality:

The world has corrupted Sabira; a girl who was once carefree and joyful has become embittered and scathing. Those who come across the beggar cannot say much for her character – she yells at those who do not give her money and yells at those who do. On a wonderful sunny day, people avoid her corner to avoid the sarcastic quips and angered remarks that she makes upon her death bed. Sabira has become greedy and selfish, stealing from anyone she can, even children and the elderly. She cares not for their lives, but instead takes in order to extend her pathetic life for just a little bit longer. She lacks empathy, able to turn a dry eye to the saddest tale and is willing to do whatever to survive. Because she is a survivor – she will do whatever it takes in order to live from day to day. Her will is strong and she clings to her life with an iron grip; if she applied her strong will to other such things, Sabira would become a force to reckon with. Her temper is quick and hot, her frustration builds easily, but her frustration and temper only makes her more determined. She is a quick and diligent learner if she so deems the subject worthy of her attention. Among her hot-headed nature, her sarcastic wit, her cynicism, and her selfish greed, Sabira is loyal. Once her loyalty is earned, Sabira will protect you like a dog protects his bone.

Skills:

Sabira grew up on the streets and as such there were several skills she had to attain in order to survive. First, she learned how to climb everything and anything in her path. Second, she learned to steal – from pockets, from hands, from stalls, from purses – and how to run fast when she was caught. Thirdly, Sabira learned the ways of the street. She learned how to interact with the common day thug and how to get what she wanted from such thugs. Her bartering skills and persuasion is her only defense as Sabira never learned how to fight. If any of her defenses failed, Sabira would be forced to run away and hide as fighting would lead to her death.

Biography:

Sabira never knew her parents. All Sabira knew was the kind, smiling face of her older sister Elspeth. All Sabira knew was the sweet, soothing voice of Elspeth – speaking to her, guiding her, helping her. Sabira was born without her parents, without grandparents, but she had Elspeth and Elspeth was her world. Elspeth taught her about herbs and took care of her, despite being only seven years old, and protected Sabira from the dangers of the street. Sabira remembers the warmth of Elspeth’s hand, always holding her tightly as she guided her towards lightness and hope. Then, one day, Elspeth let go of Sabira’s hand and never touched it again. She was gone.

Sabira didn’t understand why Elspeth would leave her, she didn’t understand where Elspeth had gone. One day, she woke up and Elspeth was no longer by her side, holding her hand. The world that had once seem so warm to Sabira grew cold and desperate. The only thing keeping Sabira going was the thought of her sister coming back, the thought of the world being warm again. Soon, however, that faded and the only thing that kept her strong was her will, her will to survive and show Elspeth that she was not a liability, she was not a burden to be tossed on the side of the street. Sabira was determined to make it off the streets, to become something more, but first she had to survive.

Embittered by the world, Sabira relied on her thieving skills to make it through. However, once she moved to a different street in order to protect herself from the cold, a baker took pity on her. He fed her his leftover bread and gave her blankets when she was tired. He told her stories about the war, about the dangers of dragons, and Sabira became loyal to him. She would die to protect the baker. She adopted his view on dragons, she herself becoming a Mystic, and she did everything she could to impress him. She didn’t want him to leave her behind again. The Baker looked after her as if she were his child, though he could not let her stay with him due to his pregnant wife, but Sabira understood. So she stayed on the streets, in an alleyway next to the Baker, watching over him and his wife as well as their healthy son. She could feel herself slowly dying and the fringes of death crept closer to her heart. Yet, she stayed in the alleyway, even though better opportunities would be elsewhere, because she loved the Baker as if he were her father.

Horns decorate the back of his skull, straight and narrow, and grow from his chin as well. His face is ridge-less except for the single arched ridge over his small black eye. His mouth and tongue are gray with a cotton-like texture to it. His wings are their own appendages, separate from his forelimbs, and stretch impossibly far with jagged membrane connecting spines. His spine is patterned with dulled spikes that give him a fearsome appearance, like a skeleton with a spine made of bone. He has many teeth, all sharp and lined, and his body is longer than it is wide. His tail extends outwards with a magnificent flourish of a tail, having continued spikes along the length and an arrow ending at the thick tail.

Elspeth, much like her sister, has been tainted by the world that has robber her of her life. Elspeth, as a child, was light and friendly, optimistic and naive. However, upon the age of seven, Elspeth's life took a turn and her personality did as well. Forced to make a hard decision, Elspeth's lightness was convoluted until she became cold and ruthless. She lived day to day with no purpose, but instead lived where time never moved for her. Life bored her, but death terrified her. Elspeth became manipulative and cunning, playing with the minds of people in order to get what she wanted. She was selfish and disloyal, only serving her means and always choosing herself over others because of her deep-seated fear of death. However, she is intelligent and reasonable and a powerful ally to have on your side. Despite her barren personality, she retains a small amount of optimism from her childhood.

Elspeth is a skilled assassin, well-versed in poisons and lying. However, she lacks in hand-to-hand combat and is horrible at sword fighting. But her most important skill is Elspeth's ability to manipulate others to do what she wishes and her ability at lying through her teeth. When she needs to, Elspeth can become anyone she wants through counterfeit.

Elspeth Whimbleby does not remember much of her mother, but she does remember her golden hair and beautiful eyes and her crying. Elspeth Whimbleby didn’t understand it then, but she was born an illegitimate child. Her father was a married noble who had seduced her mother and when her mother was pregnant, he paid her to keep quiet. With nowhere to go and nothing to do, Elspeth’s mother accepted the money from him and stayed quietly with Elspeth. Three years after Elspeth’s birth, she met a man and became pregnant with Sabira. His identity is unknown. However, at some point, the girls’ mother became unsatisfied with her life and attempted to make Elspeth’s father take responsibility for his daughter. She wanted him to adopt her, acknowledging her as his daughter, in order to give Elspeth the life she couldn’t give him. When he refused, Elspeth’s mother threatened to expose him to his wife. As a noble, he could not have that and so he hired an assassin and on a dark, rainy night, Elspeth and Sabira became orphans.

Elspeth tried her best to take care of Sabira, stealing to sustain the younger girl and playing on people’s pity in order to provide for them. She became manipulative and a lying thief in order to protect Sabira. However, when Sabira became violently ill, Elspeth felt herself powerless to save Sabira. No medicine that she stole helped Sabira or lessened the three year old’s pain. Elspeth, afraid of watching her sister die and fade away, left her in the middle of the night, believing that Sabira would leave in her sleep. Elspeth traveled to a different city in which she made a living through nefarious means, thieving and beating people up to the best abilities a ten year old can. Guilt weighed heavily on her shoulders for leaving Sabira until Elspeth learned to ignore it, pretending that she didn’t care about anyone or anything.

Eventually, a man took notice of Elspeth’s infamy and took her under his wing, training her in the art of assassination. Elspeth failed in many aspects, especially hand-to-hand and swordsmanship, but she showed a prowess in poisons and subterfuge. The man used her as a diversion, mostly, distracting nobles as he killed people of importance – though, sometimes, Elspeth herself had to do the killing by slipping poison into drinks.

Two horns curve backwards from her head with three small stubs poking out inbetween. Her yellow, amber eyes are perpetually angry and look relatively small on her medium sized body. Her wings stretch out, powerful and strong, but possessing tears in it from fights. Her strong four limbs have spikes on the shoulder and elbow joints as well as blunt talons. Her spine is lined by tall, thick spikes that travel to the tip of her tail, diminishing in height. Her teeth are small, but needle-like and sharp as well as numerous.

White trash. Abigail hated the term with every fiber of her being - but according to everyone she met in her childhood, that's what she and her family was. White trash: poor, worthless, trailer trash, and the list goes on. Abigail was told the same thing from everyone she came across: "you will never amount to anything." And, truthfully, Abigail believed it.

Abigail Babineaux was born in the NSU to a single mother and five younger brothers. When it came to Abigail, she was always put on hold; everybody else came first. At the age of ten, Abigail's mother had saved up all her money and moved the family to Hokuko in hopes of finding a better life. There, Abigail understood what it meant to be inferior. In the NSU, they had enough money to at least pretend they were fine, but in Hokuko, they had spent all their money on plane tickets, and as such could only afford a cockroach ridden trailer surrounded by other cockroach ridden trailers. There was barely enough room for the seven member family and Abigail was forced to share the cough with three of her younger brothers. At the time, Abigail was fiercely protective of her brothers after her father had died. Yet, when others found out at school about her living conditions, Abigail had never felt more ashamed in her life. Trailer trash. It followed her wherever she went, as everyone always knew - was it her matted, usually oily hair that gave her away? Or her clothes that were always filled with holes and rips (it was always embarrassing when she got dress-coded and had to cover the holes in her clothing with duct tape)?

It was around the age of twelve that she discovered the release of self-harm. She didn't do it much, only when the bullying got really bad. She tried to hide it as best as she can, but living in such a small space, her mother was doomed to find out. Her mother never told her that she knew, never said a word, until one day her mother unceremoniously pulled her out of class and brought her to a therapist. The matriarch had been saving up her money ever since she saw the scratches on her precious daughter's arm. Under the care of Dr. Gagnon, Abigail was disagnosed with Clinical Depression. He believed strongly that Abigail's recent bullying had helped bring the disorder out. He prescribed her medicine, but it was expensive and her mother didn't know how she would pay for it. She managed somehow, but Abigail knew she was struggling even more than before.

She was thirteen when she decided to do it. It was a tucked away area that nobody would ever see, and Abigail was convinced that nobody would catch her. Growing cannabis was the easiest thing she had done since she moved to Hokuko. Going to a public school filled with a bunch of medium-waged kids made for easy pickings - she started with the smarter kids ant the athletes, due to the "stress" they often had to deal with. Soon, she was the school's pot dealer. At the age of sixteen, gangs had gotten wind of Abigail's little business and they recruited her to start selling worse and more dangerous drugs. Abigail couldn't refuse, though she knew getting involved with such people would be the death of her. Perhaps it was around this time that she began to hang out with Mykhaila Kedzierski in the basement of a mediocre gang's hidaway. They became close friends fast.

After graduating high school, Abigail did attempt to get her act together and went to college for two or so years before Mykhaila managed to pull her out again. They were careful never to be seen together because of Mykhaila's image that she needed to protect, so perhaps that was why it was so easy for Abigail to fool Tatiana when Mykhaila urged the blonde to become Tatiana's personal assistant for her. Mykhaila convinced Abigail to spy on Tatiana for her under the name Rachel Ortov and Abigail, being a loyal and close friend, chose to do so in order to protect Mykhaila.

I could not help but accept her invitation and I wandered inside, dressed in nothing but greased breeches and a torn, dirtied shirt. She fixed me tea – now that I look back on that time, the tea tasted quite awful, but when she asked, I could only say it was better than my wife’s. She introduced herself to me as Kasula Brushbrooke, soon to be Kasula Guilain. I still remember the sharp sting of disappointment in my heart. Despite the knowledge that it could never happen – me being married and she engaged – I still felt a flutter in my chest when her soft, unworked fingers grazed my own calloused ones. That afternoon we talked for so long, I had almost forgotten to give her the herbs. She took the package from my hand with such grace and her palm caressed mine. She must have been embarrassed as to having forgotten as well – she began to ramble about how she was having shortness of breath. Before I left that night, I promised I’d be back again with the best of Gunborg’s herbs to cure that nasty ailment of hers. And I did. Several times, matter of fact.

For years I visited her, we only talked those nights – I had meself a wife and a son, I couldn’t just very well throw that away, now could I? Still, it felt wrong to lie to Gunborg like that – and several times I had the mind to leave Shimmerstone and never come back. Kasula didn’t have need for my herbs anymore anyways and I had met her fiancé – Ruvaen, I believe his name was. He was a honorable lad, that one. Took care of Kasula as if she were a queen. But every time their wedding drew near, Kasula would postpone it. She says she wasn’t ready, but I think I knew the truth – she wasn’t willing to let me go.

The night you were conceived, I had come to visit Shimmerstone to deliver some motherwort and to finally end the friendship – if you could call it that – between your mother and me. But I just couldn’t do it. The sight of her took my breath away and I ended up forsaking my family that night. Later, when we discovered she was pregnant with you, I knew I had to leave my family back at the town beyond the mountains. Ingolf cried for me to come back and Gunborg ripped up her garden in anger, throwing the shredded pieces at me. But I wouldn’t change my decision for the world. I love your mother, more than I love life itself, and if I couldn’t be with her, then I’d rather have died in the mountains. You can imagine that Ruvaen wasn’t quite happy with your mother and me, he did quite like her, but he couldn’t very well marry your mother when another man’s baby was in her belly, now could he? Living with your mother, waking up every day to see her glowing face and tasting her awful tea, being the father of you…it’s the most blessed thing that has ever happened to me, love. I wouldn’t leave you two for the world.”

Of course, Cosima’s mother had another story to tell her daughter whilst lying on the floor in black, staring into the depths of nothingness:

“It’s the most wretched thing I have ever done, Cosima. Our love was not magical, it was not blessed – it was a consuming poison that blinded us and tainted our hearts. Love is a dangerous thing, dear. It’s a curse placed on us, a punishment. Yes, we were happy for a time. But was it worth it? Was loving your father worth this anguish in my gut, this hatred in my heart? I should’ve married that damned elven fool while I had the chance. Never love, Cosima. In the end, you will only be dead inside. In the end, you will only be alive and miserable while he’s out there somewhere being reborn as a herbalist’s husband. He never should have left her, or his son. I reckon she’s dead now, too.”

After Cosima’s father died, Kasula never left her abode in Shimmerstone. But instead wept and slept all day and all night. Her ex-fiancé, Ruvaen, eventually moved in to take care of the eight year old Cosima who did not quite understand what was happening. Perhaps out of a sense of duty to him, Kasula married him and lived her life as a shut-in seamstress. Ruvaen often entertained Cosima with tales of her father, Fiske, and his beautiful love for Kasula, but Cosima could sense his own heartache. They were never allowed to talk about him when Kasula was near and they avoided the house all together when they smelled the burning aroma of horribly brewed tea. It meant that Kasula was in an especially bad mood.

Ruvaen, a warrior, taught Cosima the art of fighting. He showed her the ways of the bow and the sword, but Cosima demonstrated a predilection for maces and axes. She enjoyed throwing her whole body into the movement rather than the graceful dance that Ruvaen liked. Ruvaen became much like a father figure to Cosima and he supported Cosima in everything she did, taking care of the family despite how Kasula and Fiske had wronged him. He never had a love or a child of his own, but instead his heart yearned for the bitter and cynical Kasula who he knew was further from his reaches than ever.

When Cosima was twelve, Kasula moved the family to New Sanguine, Djarkel on a whim. Ruvaen told Cosima that he believes it was hard for Kasula to live in Shimmerstone, where everything reminded her of her father. In Shimmerstone, Cosima had friends and was treated only slightly differently because of her hybrid nature. However, once she moved to Djarkel, Cosima experienced a harsher discrimination where people avoided her like she had the plague. People never outright said anything to Cosima, but it was obvious that her presence wasn’t wanted in Djarkel.

Cosima eventually grew up to be a bounty huntress, tracking down criminals in order to get fees to support her mother. Ruvaen continued to watch over her and her mother, working his own odd jobs here and there. He became a collector of sorts for information. When Cosima was tracking down a murderer, she went to Ruvaen for information on her bounty. He helped her track her mark down, but was called away by Kasula who needed Ruvaen to fetch her silk to make clothes from. On her own, Cosima fought against the murderer before he held her head underwater, attempting to drown her after her weapon was knocked away. When Cosima believed she was on the verge of death, she felt energy awaken inside of her and she was able to grab a rock and beat the murderer to death with it. With her mageblood unlocked, Cosima went to Ruvaen for advice who advised her to go to the college.

Good Attributes:

As a half-elf, Cosima possesses a nimble body, able to climb just about anything as well as move swiftly and quickly. Nonetheless, her ability relies in her obstinate way of fighting. When battling, she fights like a berserker, throwing everything she has at once. She batters her enemy until they give up and is proficient with maces and axes. She has a sharp sense of sight and hearing, though it is duller than full elves, and is a master tracker.

Bad Attributes:

Conversely, when fighting, it is easy to predict Cosima’s movements and those stronger than her can quickly overpower her because of her way of fighting. She is clumsier than her brethren and tires quickly when fighting. Her opponents only need to outlast her in order to defeat her or get her away from her weapon. Cosima is horrible at travelling and has no ability on a horse, and is rather scared of them, really. She is also apt to get distracted easily.

Personality:

Elspeth, much like her sister, has been tainted by the world that has robber her of her life. Elspeth, as a child, was light and friendly, optimistic and naive. However, upon the age of seven, Elspeth's life took a turn and her personality did as well. Forced to make a hard decision, Elspeth's lightness was convoluted until she became cold and ruthless. She lived day to day with no purpose, but instead lived where time never moved for her. Life bored her, but death terrified her. Elspeth became manipulative and cunning, playing with the minds of people in order to get what she wanted. She was selfish and disloyal, only serving her means and always choosing herself over others because of her deep-seated fear of death. However, she is intelligent and reasonable and a powerful ally to have on your side. Despite her barren personality, she retains a small amount of optimism from her childhood.

Skills:

Elspeth is a skilled assassin, well-versed in poisons and lying. However, she lacks in hand-to-hand combat and is horrible at sword fighting. But her most important skill is Elspeth's ability to manipulate others to do what she wishes and her ability at lying through her teeth. When she needs to, Elspeth can become anyone she wants through her persuasive lies.

Biography:

Elspeth Whimbleby does not remember much of her mother, but she does remember her golden hair and beautiful eyes and her crying. Elspeth Whimbleby didn’t understand it then, but she was born an illegitimate child. Her father was a married noble who had seduced her mother and when her mother was pregnant, he paid her to keep quiet. With nowhere to go and nothing to do, Elspeth’s mother accepted the money from him and stayed quietly with Elspeth. Three years after Elspeth’s birth, she met a man and became pregnant with Sabira. His identity is unknown. However, at some point, the girls’ mother became unsatisfied with her life and attempted to make Elspeth’s father take responsibility for his daughter. She wanted him to adopt her, acknowledging her as his daughter, in order to give Elspeth the life she couldn’t give him. When he refused, Elspeth’s mother threatened to expose him to his wife. As a noble, he could not have that and so he hired an assassin and on a dark, rainy night, Elspeth and Sabira became orphans.

Elspeth tried her best to take care of Sabira, stealing to sustain the younger girl and playing on people’s pity in order to provide for them. She became manipulative and a lying thief in order to protect Sabira. However, when Sabira became violently ill, Elspeth felt herself powerless to save Sabira. No medicine that she stole helped Sabira or lessened the three year old’s pain. Elspeth, afraid of watching her sister die and fade away, left her in the middle of the night, believing that Sabira would leave in her sleep. Having abandoned her sister like that, Elspeth was put onto a dark path and as such, her personality became dim and dark, cold and dank; sacrificing her sister paid its toll on Elspeth's personality. Elspeth traveled to a different city in which she made a living through nefarious means, thieving and beating people up to the best abilities a ten year old can. Guilt weighed heavily on her shoulders for leaving Sabira until Elspeth learned to ignore it, pretending that she didn’t care about anyone or anything.

Eventually, a man took notice of Elspeth’s infamy and took her under his wing, training her in the art of assassination. Elspeth failed in many aspects, especially hand-to-hand and swordsmanship, but she showed a prowess in poisons and subterfuge. The man used her as a diversion, mostly, distracting nobles as he killed people of importance – though, sometimes, Elspeth herself had to do the killing by slipping poison into drinks.

Brynja is a fiercely loyal fire dragon covered in rough, shiny crimson scales. Her face possesses ridges and spikes protrude from her jaw as well as her cheekbones. Two horns curve backwards from her head with three small stubs poking out inbetween. Her yellow, amber eyes are perpetually angry and look relatively small on her medium sized body. Her wings stretch out, powerful and strong, but possessing tears in it from fights. Her strong four limbs have spikes on the shoulder and elbow joints as well as blunt talons. Her spine is lined by tall, thick spikes that travel to the tip of her tail, diminishing in height. Her teeth are small, but needle-like and sharp as well as numerous.
