Would it be less OP if it simply teleported to the general area where there would be possibility of the targets to detect the character, vs teleporting just right in front of them?

Artholath sat in his chair, leaning back and thinking for a few moments.
He had not seen the creation of a demon for literally a thousand years... yet how could he forget his very own birth and that of his brethren? Forgetting one's own creation would be unthinkable.
"Some steps are simple enough - particularly when it comes to the creation of the body, although that must be done correctly or... nasty flaws may happen." He almost winced when he remembered some of the atrocious creations that his creator insisted led to his own creation.
"Others, including the capturing of a soul that is appropriate for the job, charging the host with power, and teaching it, could be more complicated. For now, a body would be suitable. Most components can come from creatures right out of a forest - even a spider has body parts that are useful. It is putting them together to form the body and then charging it that I will likely have to assist on, since later stage steps are more difficult and can be easily... botched."

True. I suggest ya have characters be posted to the OOC first in the future before having them here.
The guard managed a chuckle without coughing out blood this time. "I haven't seen my family in a long time... doubt they would care..." He would be able to notice the somewhat selfish nature of the man before him had he not been dying and coughing blood every so often. He slipped a little further away...
Could you explain the mechanics of the dimensional travel? How does it work?
Well, he could attempt to do further experimentation, send the demon out on some mission to find a material, begin what was suggested at the start :P.
I'll give you my personal input - it's a start and has a creative root, but a little expansion wouldn't hurt :)
Also, if you want, I can make you some lore on the roots of angels - demons are, for the sake of this roleplay, created as an experiment.

If you're up for a relatively casual fantasy that has some activity going on, you could try this roleplay. It's open to various skill levels and pretty fresh, should be very open to new characters.
Another abbreviation you should know is CS (character sheet).
Opening up in a roleplay ought to start off with the surroundings, current thoughts, etc. Try looking at a couple other intros to get the gist.
If you are in a larger group and/or want to specifically mention someone, place an @ in front of their name and put brackets around the whole thing. It will come out as @Kori no ko if it works. As you might notice, it also gives a notification.

Artholath had no qualms with obliging the doctor and held out his arm. After all, his own creation took time and many steps, which he had the luck of observing on a few occasions with later demons. Letting him take some rather pointless measurements was no issue.
He thought of offering to reveal his demonic form, but decided against it for the moment. He wouldn’t bring it up unless the doctor did.
