What country - or possibly even better, location within the country - is the RP based in?
If you want, I tend to flesh out environment of the character with CS's, so I would describe how things end up working in relevance to my characters - for example, if my character was police, the history of how it evolved to the point it is at and the associated technologies, manpower, etc.

So exactly how advanced is all this? Distant future would signify a high advancement of technology... unless something has happened to make things otherwise and prevent colonization of other planets, etc. that would be in a futuristic setting.
Ah... well, based on your description, I suggest you first look at the structures of posts to see if you got it down and then hop into a casual to begin with, then move up to advanced. If you're OK with combining depth and character development in with your 5-10 paragraphs, you can do advanced. If you want I can dig up some starters for you (preferences would help in selection).

He honestly hadn't heard of a "Goddess", but what he heard was by no means something that sounded wrong to him. Demon God? Sounds like the culmination of all my work. He wondered if his own influence was what would cause it. If so, he needed waste no time.
He peered into the crystal. It was very, very well... constructed, certainly of no natural composition. Within he saw many shifting shapes... he would be more capable of interpreting them in his true form, but he could still scout things out in his human form.
As he looked, he saw... warriors. Many warriors... ones that would more than suit his goals. However, there was something else. Two souls within that did not fit the picture. Two souls that were a little more innocent...
"I may be onto something... but I will need to shift to investigate further." He normally would not ask, but shifting and not telling anyone could result in either a bad reaction from those around him or in an accident - such as Lance touching his true form, which would not feel good at all.

What's the max of characters? If it is 2+ I was thinking of making a human investigator trained to hunt the Hex'es and another who is a hex vigilante with... questionable methods.
Well, at the least, I'll keep a watch on this. Mind if I add some formatting in the event that I create a CS?

I haven't the foggiest idea what you intend to do, and things have come to a standstill, so sure.

"Last words? I suppose I will give you my famous line... look behind you." he said, fixing his eyes on a spot behind him. He had no intention of teleporting but hoped his target knew of that particular bit. A few seconds later, he dived across Hanson's desk with a slight bit of regret for messing with all his paperwork, and shot one of his more classic energy balls from the tip of his staff at the unidentified target who obviously wanted to kill him.
He less dramatically hit the floor, and attempted to right himself in case his aim was less than the perfection required and hoping there wouldn't be someone charging at him when he looked up.
