Trapping a spider in a blob of hair gel is oddly fascinating to watch. Also -- why are they called 'buildings' when they are clearly already 'built'?

Still under construction. The ogre-mindslaves are still setting the foundation in place. Have patience, and know that the Sultan is watching us all.

Bio

Alright, guess I can provide something for people to go on here. Name's Arkka -- no wait, that's a waste of time, you already know what my name is.

Unless you can't read.

Which is making this incredibly awkward. Uh.
Moving swiftly on.

Twenty-seven years of age, nine-ish years of roleplaying experience under my belt. I am what some would call a 'dude'. A man. A mang. A man-thing. A vaguely-masculine figure that does, indeed, possess a willy, and knows how to use it. And is bisexual in nature. Terrifying.
My schedule is about as erratic as the weather-based offerings of a cloud with an incontinence issue, in that work combined with my family issues ensures that I'm around and about for posting thirty-percent of the time, one-hundred percent of the time.
That made sense in my head, so I'm goin' with it.

Thanks to tabletop fiddling, I've dabbled in roleplay of most sorts, so I only find myself completely out of my depth when I'm dropped into a scenario in which nothing is explained, and I'm forced to improvise. And please, for all that is good and pure, don't make me improvise.
Things get absurd when I'm made to improvise.
I'm comfortable with large-scale, long-term roleplay scenarios, and simple, day-to-day slice-of-life ones. My post size varies, as I usually prefer to match that of whomever I happen to be roleplaying with. The characters I make are varied, and usually have some kind of flaw or imperfection to round them out. Makes them more relatable.

Oh, and I vastly, vastly prefer playing with original characters and within original worlds/universes. One, I enjoy viewing the creative process and imagination of individuals and exploring their take on concepts such as species, origins, landscape construction and the like. It's like peeking into someone's brain, but in a reasonable and relatively-humane way, and without all the mess. And two, it's a nice way of connecting with people when you make your own together.

That and fiddling about with canon universes and characters just makes me feel uncomfortable most of the time.
Uh.
More to be added when I can think of it/can be bothered.
Have a good day! Or night! Or afternoon!

Would I be late in expressing interest in joining the crew? Reading these has been fascinating, and makes for a far more interesting method of making a character sheet.
'One must note that every Man has his House, and in it lies his soul, his property. Just as Man has his House, 'He' wanders from each to the other; for as long as Man has his wants, his needs, 'He' shall continue to roam, continue to knock and seek entry.

Though 'He' wanders, 'He' is not homeless. For when Man invites 'Him' into his House, what gives Man purpose is no longer his own. His wants, his needs...belong to Him, as does the Man...as does the House.

One by one, the Houses of Man shall fall. Names, history--they no longer matter, hold little weight or consequence. They are brought low, to nothing but a number in his ledger, a scorched footprint dug into the chalky, thin dirt along a quiet, dust-blown road.'

-Reginald Varemati Sr.

Sounded slightly fancy, didn't it? Like it came out of a nice little three-buck novel someone might've fished out of a bin in a coffee shop, with a few of the corners bent in for good measure. Well it's not. Isn't real. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Anyway, hi. Name's Arkkanon. Well not really, but it's what I like to go by. Shorten it to whatever you like -- Arkk, Ark, Ar, 'Hey You', I'll probably answer to it. I've been roleplaying for. Uh. I'd say about nine-ish years, but I can't be certain, as my memory has as many holes in it as a block of Swiss does after being dropped into a crossfire. Though I can say it all started at a table, with five other nerds-slash-social outcasts, a metric butt-ton of paper, polyhedral die, and a giant of a man that you'd think was far more interested in the nuances of the P90X system than being a Dungeon Master. 3.5, to Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, a (very) brief stint in 5e, to MMOs and you get the general idea. It's only just now that I found forum roleplay was a thing. Unreal, right?

I'm not sure how much to share here about myself without going into 'Alright, dial it back, you wally' territory, so I'll start with the absolute basics. I'm twenty-seven years old (Had to think about that for a second. Gods, I'm an absent-minded loon sometimes), an aspiring author, and have a love for video games that is borderline feral. To give an idea of my taste in games, I'll put up my five favorites.

-Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake Eater
-Sam and Max Save the World
-Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
-Monster Hunter...(Er, I can't choose, so I'm going to be a jerk and say 'the vast majority of them')
-Final Fantasy IX

As for what I hope I'll find here? I haven't the foggiest. Such is the spirit of adventure. Something casual to fill in the hours, or perhaps something wondrously epic that I'll remember for. Uh. Well, for as long as the human memory holds, I suppose.

I look forward to encountering you all!
