Anyways, the important thing is that Athinar got his first minion, Meat.
The Burning World

Story

A woman, shrouded in golden light, appears before you, extending her hand. She speaks in a strange, melodic language, more beautiful than any one you have heard before. "You are the last defenders of this land. Will you join me, and defeat the evil, or will you turn away?"

The world has always been a desert. For as long as anyone can remember, humanity has either lived on the tops of mountains, where there were springs, and arable land, or in the depths of the many chasms that scar the landscape. However, the titanic struggle between Good and Evil is new. It's the only thing that's changed in the last thousand years. Take that how you will.

Concept

Okay, so the world is a giant desert, filled with mountains, long, winding chasms and wide canyons. The last bastions of civilization are mountain citadels in the north. Villages have been formed, but usually within a month of their founding, they fall prey to the ravages of nature. The chasms and canyons are deep, and filled with weird and strange creatures, and sometimes treasure, remnants of a fallen civilization. Recently, though, A mysterious Overlord has appeared, coming out of the chasms one day, and attacking one of the citadels, completely destroying it. Simultaneously, a woman, with armor of purest silver, has appeared, rallying the best fighters, magicians, and scientists, to her cause, which is to protect the last remainder of civilization.

This was all fifteen years ago, and so far, neither way has made much headway. You, the player, are a recruit of the Grand Army, which is the group recruited by the Heroine, as she is known throughout the land.

Interested?
Middy! I'm interested!
@ElitestpotatoAhh, at least I got a post up! Hahahaahhahah! Don't let the bastards grind you down!
Athinar grinned as the Master expressed pleasure at their performance. He had done well, and Athinar knew it, but to get such recognition from the one he was currently working for, well, it felt good. Almost as good as spilling blood. Before everyone started to argue over the spoils, Athinar grabbed a slave, and picking him up from the scruff of the neck, enough to keep him restrained, and above the reach of the imps that now spilled about him, tossed him over his shoulder. He needed at least one slave. Didn't matter what for. Maybe he'd have him cook for him or something. Anyways, that wasn't important. Turning to Kor, he saluted the Darkwraith with a mock salute. "Well met. And goodbye. I have to take care of some things. Hope to see you in the next raid." Passing the group, he overheard the words "raid" and "village" in the same sentence, but unfortunately heard "scout" and "infiltrate", as well as "plan". Raising his voice above the din of the assorted creatures, he said, "If you need things or people broken, come see me. I'm not much for scouting. Call me when you're up for a frontal assault." Waving, he pushed past a burning zombie, not even minding the singeing that was blackening his slave's face.

Finally out of the central entrance, Athinar found himself able to breathe. Roughly setting the terrified village down, allowing him to walk, he rolled his arms around in his sockets. Taking off his helmet, he shook out his long silver hair, allowing it to fall down around his eyes. "So, uhhh, what do you do?" Raising his finger before he had the chance to answer, he said, "Whatever name you had before, it is irrelevant. You now answer to Meat." Athinar then waved his hand, allowing the man to speak, as a pack of imps carried a door deeper into the tunnels.

"Well, I-I'm a barber." Seeing Athinar's displeased grimace, he hastily said, "That doesn't mean that I ju-just cut hair, th-though. I can act as a personal servant, and I also can act as a surgeon, in a p-pinch." Athinar, studying Meat's face, broke into a honest smile. The man was actually useful, and he had a strange pull to effective servants. He didn't know why, as just killing them all would be more fun, but a good support staff was important, he supposed. While the Boss was certainly powerful, he couldn't have come as far as he had without a base of power.

As they came upon a room, roughly carved out of the stone, a connecting tunnel to the main one, Athinar said, "Meat, if you serve me well, we won't have any problems." This seemed to reassure Meat, a nervous grin appearing on his face. Opening a wooden door that was just recently installed, Athinar looked around his room. It was quite bare, with only a single torch in a hole in the wall, and a simple bed in one corner. "Meat, this is my room. You should be okay, if you do not leave. Ever." Gritting his teeth, he leaned in close. "Except for when I tell you, of course. But if you leave for any reason except for by my order, then we WILL have problems. Do you understand me?" Meat nodded his head frantically. Athinar, satisfied, exited the room, leaving Meat behind, and locking the door behind him. He then headed off to see what the Boss wished of him. While the other champions had a solid idea, he would like to see the Boss's opinions on the matter. The first one he met up with, on the way to the boss, he would greet with a command and a question. "Follow me. So, what is the plan?"
I'd have to ask, could yall refrain from posting for the next hour? I'd like to get a post up before crap happens.
@MidoriSooooooo sorry for my long wait time. I wanted to get everything right, and well, you know how it is.
Alex grimaced as the woman stated his personnel profile, with no indications of awe. She obviously knew what he'd done, what he was capable of. Was she not impressed by a PhD in Research Science at age 19? A bachelor's in Astrophysics at 17? A degree in all bio-, astro- and physical chemistries at age 16? Sneering back at the woman, he said, in a harsh, yet still condescending tone, "You still havn't told me your name yet, doll." The last word was drawn out slightly, to try and get a reaction. Positive, negative, it didn't matter. This woman needed to regard Alex in some way.

Turning back to his console, grousing, and nursing his hurt pride, Alex unlocked the door to his research lab, and walking along the corridor, slammed the console back into the wall, angrily. A bit sluggish? The computational systems were designed by Alex himself. Each was a basic AI, formed to chirp up at the slightest problem. They were the fastest computers that one could fit into a thruster block, and each was like a child to him. A bit sluggish. The hydraulic door hissed open, pulling upwards, and revealed Alex's lab. Several counters, with doors that held supplies underneath, were at the sides of the room, stretching from wall to wall. An analysis table, with several scanners, electron, thermal, vibration, CT and MRI, sat in the back of the room, a stark white tabletop, lit from below. In the center of the room, was Alex's computer table, which doubled as an access console. The flat black top lit up with a simple touch of his hand, and a soothing female voice said, "Welcome, User: Designation- Alex Johns."

Alex waited a tic, as it booted up, and smiled as he saw what he had at his disposal. Most of the scientific texts, throughout history, were recorded here, from the Ancient Greeks to the most modern advances in scientific discovery. Along with this, was a myriad of personal items, which Alex had brought with him, from his computer at home. A bunch of games, books and videos, chosen from an algorithm of his personal interests, that he had coded himself, lay in wait. He knew less than 1/8 of the content, so it should entertain him for a while. Sliding the personal files to the side, for later, he viewed the external and internal sensors, able to note any changes in either. Almost immediately, a red triangle quietly pinged in the proximity alarm box. Sighing, he opened an audio channel to the engineering section's two-way intercom. "Uhhhh, yeah, hey, so there's a defunct satellite about... 150 km. out, directly where our apoapsis would culminate. Ya might want to get on that. Guess that the Davis Project didn't clear out all that junk, 50 years ago. "
@Cyclone Ooh, the boss is all chuckly and stuff! I like this guy already!
I think that Athinar and Kor are gonna be bros, no matter what he thinks about Darkwraiths.
