Hello & Welcome!
Although I have been doing this for a very long time, I feel a bit rusty when it comes to things like interest checks and the like. That said, this post will be an ongoing and ever-evolving thread for both SFW and NSFW plots and pairings. Here is the link to the introduction thread I posted if there is anything I missed here from there.

Writing Sample (coming soon)

Hello,

You can call me Aurora, and if that's too much of a mouthful, Phoenix works too. I discovered this website almost a decade ago but when it shifted engines and notifications weren't available it became extremely hard for me to keep up with messages on here after a time. So now I'm back, wanting to find wonderful people to create equally brilliant stories with. And now, on with the questionnaire...

Roleplaying career:
How long have you been a roleplayer?
I have been roleplaying on and off for somewhere around fifteen years now. As it often goes, some of the stories died gruesome deaths filled with sorrow and neglect. Some of which I do still mourn, for their glory and brilliance, was astounding. But much like an old lover I just have to remember that the time spent with them brought happiness and that in and of itself should be appreciated but more will come in time.

I consider myself an advanced roleplayer, but despite how long I have been at this, I know that there is still a lot for me to learn.

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.
Albert Einstein

What was your first experience with it and when did it become a hobby?
I honestly don't remember. I have been doing this for a very long time now after all. I can say, that for a time it wasn't so much a hobby as it was my life and passion. It still is to an extent, and maybe, just maybe one of these days I'll take all of my experiences and turn them into a fantastical book that will actually pay the bills. For now, however, it is all just a dream stick at "Once upon a time..."

Roleplaying preferences:
What are your favorite genres?
By and large, my favorite genres to roleplay are fantasy, paranormal, and romance, usually in a custom setting rather than a fanfiction one. The reason for that is usually because I don't know the work well enough to feel as if I can do it justice. There are some, but not many, exceptions, as there usually are. But you will seldom if ever catch me roleplaying as one of the characters within a fandom for the same reason as stated above.

Do you prefer group roleplays or one-on-one adventures?
I have participated in very few groups roleplays over the years, and even now find them a bit too chaotic for my liking. I enjoy the flexibility and freedom of one-on-one more since the roleplay doesn't have to accommodate the likes or dislikes of many people at the same time. That said, recently I have gotten into playing Pathfinder in a virtual tabletop setting, which is a group roleplay but I consider that a much different beast than play-by-post and other kinds of roleplay.

Are you more interested in fast-paced, back-and-forth roleplays or are you looking for complex, layered stories with huge posts and intricate lore -- or something in between?
D. All of the above.
I most enjoy fast-paced, back-and-forth complex, and layered stories. Although perhaps because of the fast-paced nature it ends up becoming much less layered and complex than other slower-paced roleplay might be.

Any other preferences or details you want to share?
I know this question wasn't asked in the stickied post, but I wanted to add some general details about who and what I prefer to roleplay and this fit the format the easiest.

I am able to roleplay males and females and some genders in between. I do often prefer to play female-presenting characters, they are just simpler for me to impersonate and create. The male characters that I have played, however, tend to be of the dominant variety, I guess from reading one too many romance novels.

I also do not enjoy horror in most if not every form. Adam's Family creepy is fine, but more than that is just not enjoyable. There are likely other genres and details of a roleplay that I dislike equally, but I can't think of them at the moment. Adult-themed roleplays are not out of the question, the details for those I'll leave for private messages. What I will say here, is that porn-without-plot tends to get boring very quickly, giving it a short lifespan in most cases.

I will likely edit this (if possible) and add more details as time goes on. Though for an interesting enough premise, most if not everything is negotiable.

Hobbies and interests:
What else do you do for fun besides roleplaying?
I enjoy gaming (video and tabletop RPGs mostly), reading, listening to music, or stand-up comedy, anime, cartoons, movies, and other series.

My games of choice are usually RPG single-player games, though I have been "coerced" into playing things like League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Ark Survival Evolved, Minecraft, and Secret World Legends. So in general my gaming tastes can be an eclectic mix that bounces around quite a bit. I suppose I should note that first-person games do have a limited playtime for me because if I play them for too long I usually end up feeling rather ill. Motion sickness... bleh.

For reading, my habits tend to be a bit narrower. Much like my roleplaying, I gravitate towards fantasy and paranormal adventures that often involve some kind of romance. Lately, isekai light novels have also been a prevalent trend though that might just be because I have taken to consuming any kind of media with an isekai theme to it.

My preferences in music tend to be alternative rock, game, or anime-inspired music. That isn't to say that I don't enjoy other genres of music, but they tend to be the exception and not the rule. Most of all, when I listen to music, the part that matters most is usually the lyrics and how the entire composition feels. It is a bit hard to explain concisely so I'll stop that before it begins.

Most if not all of the other things I enjoy tend to follow the same trends as above, so I'll spare the details here. Not to mention that this introduction is getting a bit long already.

Thank you for reading, and I hope we might create wonderful adventures together. ^_^
