Bio

Hey all. I'm a few sunsets over 30, and I live in Michigan.

I'm a former Marine, currently kind of going to school.

I've been RPing since AOL, so that's like <counts, then recounts, then sighs>, over 15 years.

I RP at an advance level.

I'm pretty awesome, but I'm kind of direct, prickly, and assertive in terms of the RPs I participate in and the people I RP with.

Feel free to drop me a line any time about pretty much anything.

Go easy.

I'm not 100% sure l know what exactly you're asking with your second question, but the first answer is yes.....

Let's put the
RIOT

in Detroit!

So. I want to do a cyberpunk RP. There are two options:
1. Cyberpunk. Simple, assuming you're familiar with the setting. Our chars could be a team, could meet, could be hired and paired together randomly, whatever. I'm open.

2. Shadowrun. This is more specific, based on the Shadowrun world of games (tabletop, video games, book series). My thing here is I want it focused in Detroit, and non-canon. I want to create this world, from characters to The Corps (granted, some of the larger, more prominent Corps and the such can be easily inCORPorated into the RP).

As for me, here is a link to my INTEREST CHECK and I suggest you read it so that you are aware of my RP expectations and the such.

Hit me up chummer.

Name: Steve Olek
Birthplace: Michigan.
Age: 29.
Program: Operation Wrath.

Bio: Steve was born and raised in Michigan, never leaving the state until enlisting into the Marines, spending his 22nd birthday at bootcamp. After graduating and finishing his secondary schooling, he was almost immediately deployed the the Somali Civil War and then deployed to several other conflict areas--but none as savage and violent as the fighting in Somalia.

Growing up, his parents divorced when he was in high school and he opted to live with his mother as his father was abusive and had substance abuse issues. Because of this, he was always somewhat of a momma’s boy but that changed after enlisting.

He was done with his active duty contract of 3 years when the United States erupted into war as many Western states ceded and he was called back.

This is where things got somewhat odd as once recalled, he didn’t report to Marine Corps Command but instead to a base in a secluded part of Vermont. At this point it was revealed that Steve and countless other Marines and soldiers had been unknowingly subjected to a series of tests under the codename Operation Wrath.

While it wasn’t an outright lie, the authorization was vaguely worded in a series of innoculations and vaccinations that were mandated.

It was then revealed to those present that not only were they already mildly enhanced, but this was just the first stage in a series that would enhance them further. Also rolled out for the group was a large number of weapons and technological advances that they would employ.

Most men were upset at being deceived but the truth is that with the war looming overhead, they sucked it up almost to a man. As all men were already trained, the next phases were relatively simple with a mix of medically induced enhancing, mental preparations and integrating the new weapons at their disposal.

While it wasn’t a war with a death toll comparable to the Civil War, the War of Separations was noticeably more bloody and savage because of the technological advancements at the disposal of both nations.

Then, seemingly overnight, this war was over and both West and East came to peace terms only to be engaged in another war--or series of them.

As the world fell into bloody chaos, the Coastal Republic and Colonial America untited and formed Project 300 where both of their soldier programs were consolidated. At this point, the United States fought on two fronts: South American Front and in defense of the Eastern European Coalition.

Steve himself was deployed to the European theater where he engaged in almost 3 years of fighting. This was different from his prior combat because he wasn’t deployed with Marines as his first service tour, and the prior conflicts he was fighting mainly with Colonial American Wrath members. Now, it was almost constantly a hodge podge of fighters from a different corners of the world--some enhanced, some not.

After that three years, things sorted themselves out and the TransNational Federation was formed.

After the next 3 months of peace talks and the few weeks after, the enhanced were rounded up and ordered to stand down. Many didn’t. Steve did.

He was flown to Missouri and debriefed, left in relative isolation for days until he was brought before a board of various officials from both Colonial America and the Coastal Republic. The end result: he’d be partnered with another enhanced fighter to track down rogue enhanced who fled.

He took the offer.

The year is 2065. After the Global Nuclear Disarmament Pact of 2050, the Long Peace continued but like all good things, it came to an end.

Initially the US was hurled into a civil war. Conflicts were limited as most of the issues were political and social, but there were handful of bloody battles. Originally, the US had been working on a variety of "super soldier" programs and Coastal Republic ceded from what is now known as Colonial America, these programs fractured and split with entire programs and individuals attempting to flee to their respective places--some successfully, others not.

The bloody stalemate was brought to an end only at the promise of more bloodshed as the rest of the world fell back into an almost World War 1 and 2 esque scenario again. The players were Russia, the fragmented EU which comprised of most of Western Europe, the Eastern European Coalition (which includes almost all Israeli Jews who fled after they were attacked), the Caliphate out of Egypt, China, the Korean Japanese alliance and others.

And like all bad things, this too came to an end after a myriad of treaties and new alliances and pacts.

Then came the consolidation. Just like America, both East and West, other countries also had their own versions of enhanced warrior programs and when the wars and conflicts ended, most of them found themselves not only out of the job, but also having been changed to the point that literally their only occupational potential was war in some capacity or the other.

The TransNational Federation, similar to today's UN, was formed and part of their initial agenda was to consolidate these enhanced fighters and in essence put them in a variety of concentration camps. Now this lead to many small, violent conflicts as many resisted. Some fled when the violence started, but some others saw the writing on the walls before anything was written and fled.

After many missions to consolidate, most ending in bloodshed and violence with negative results, the Federation decided to try something new.

They'd use the enhanced to track and consolidate.

Holy ghosts, I've been looking for a cyberpunk RP for a long time. Had a group Shadowrun RP for a while, that's the closest I've gotten.

PM inbound!
