While the others discussed Z-Rings and facing off against Hala, Chuck returned to the Trial Site for his own battle against the Totem Gumshoos. He started off with Kite the Grubbin, utilizing String Shot to slow it down, then sending out Ariel the Popplio who finished it off with a mixture of Water Gun and Disarming Voice, earning himself the Normalium Z. He then returned to heal hos Pokemon and prepare for Hala.
"Alola." Chuck said with a yawn, Sludge back on his head, still refusing to get in his ball.
Chuck woke up the next day to Sludge sleeping on his chest.
"Sounds good to me." he said, noticing as Odum returned. Not wanting to deal with him at the moment, he decided to go and scout ahead right then and there. "I'll go a bit ahead and see if the way is clear. I'll return and state whether it is or not and we can proceed. I'll stay a bit ahead and return with any news." With that, Lucas headed off in the direction they were headed, taking to the trees, surprised with how easy it was thanks to how nimble he had become. He leapt from branch to branch, keeping silent as he scanned the road ahead.
"Why would I apologize?" Lucas asked. "He was being an ass, so I called him out on it. He's the one who almost pulled a gun on me."
Lucas had also seen Odum reach for his gun, which surprised him. However, he was also ready to grab his bow at a moment's notice and fire a magic arrow at him to defend himself. When Odum stormed off, Lucas let out the breath he didn't even realize he was holding and turned to Naomi. "I fear there may be something wrong with him mentally." he said to her. "Nobody in their right mind would even think to draw a gun on someone just for a comment like that." It was then that he heard the gunshots, as well as the death cries of several animals. "Not in their right mind at all." he said with a sigh. "We must be very wary around him from now on, and inform the others of this as well."
"Better than being just an ass." Lucas spat back, venom in his words, as he is now sick of Odum at this point, seeming to always ruin his moments with Naomi.
"She's got a point there." Lucas said. "We should stick together, at least until we learn enough about this world to warrant going on our own. We could end up unknowingly insulting nobility or run into bandits."
"I'm not one to judge." Lucas said with a shrug. "I used to smoke weed for my ADHD, but couldn't afford it after a while."
