Glad to see this has gotten some interest in the past few days. I'm extremely swamped with IRL work this week, but I will make it a priority to put OOC up by tonight.
I would encourage you guys to pick which House you want to claim now, before OOC goes up: To claim a house, fill out this basic CS.

House:
House Leader: Who is at the top of your House?
House Members: List any notable members of your family.
Lesser Generals:
Special Unit: Give a name to your House's unique warrior/infantry/navy/etc.

I'll simplify this as much as possible. This Nation RP will probably be "High-Casual"/Advanced. The Roleplay will take place in "2 Phases."
PHASE 1: Roleplay Phase

-All non-combat roleplaying (diplomacy, construction, negotiations, etc.) The only exception is Treating, or forming treaties with other players, which is only available during Battle Phase.
-Character development happens here primarily, since you will be roleplaying the head of your House + lesser generals and such.
PHASE 2: Battle Phase

-All dice rolls, stat calculation take place during BP.
-All In-Combat posts will take place during BP also.
-Assassination attempts can only take place during BP (more info in OOC)
Setting: Slightly Retconned Westeros + Essos.
-Time: War of the Five Kings.
-Same locations and people. Possible new areas and new people.
-Technology will be on par with series -
-Magic exists, but is not easily accessible to the average Westerosi

Player: Control familiar Houses (Lannister, Stark, etc.) and lesser Houses under their domain (Manderly,
-Would like to get some original/retcon Houses over in Essos as well. Alternatively, you can move your House from one region to another, but this will free up your region for someone else to snag, at the expense of leaving their region.
-House Reyne (of Castamere) is revived and up for grabs.
-Jon Arryn/House Arryn is revived and married to Lysa Tully.
-Melisandre has not yet joined Stannis Baratheon's entourage.
-House Targaryen is not up for grabs.
-Looking for 4 or more people

Stats/System:
-Basic adding/subtracting (there will be a CS that will hopefully explain everything thoroughly in the OOC) along with dice rolls: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm
-Complex nation-building, relatively simple combat.

You have been recruited as an Illuminati agent. Our organization is pleased to welcome you to our ranks.

Inside your coat you will find 100,000 Credits, this should be more than enough to get you to London. Take the next flight out from whatever podunk place you live in, head to the nearest airport, and take the next hyperplane to London. Pay whoever you have to.

Once in London, we will be in touch. We will know when you reach our soil, don't worry about that part.

The Great Templar, Joe Smith will see you now in his office and debrief you as to the specifics of your Illuminati membership. Please see our armourer at your earliest convenience to receive your weapon.

Do not bother replying to this message, it is sent through a secure channel and all traces of it will be destroyed in 3 seconds.

Just like that, the e-mail disappeared from his retinal display.

Reaching into his inner-coat pocket, Wyatt found a sealed holo-envelope, which he clicked open, that deposited 100,000 Credits into his account. He grabbed his phone, threw on his most elegant trenchcoat and stuffed his pockets with as many useless trinkets and valuables as he could find. No deodorant, no toothbrush, no soap and no shampoo would fit though. The young man, draped in trenchcoat, rode his hover board out of the grimy and claustrophobic room, on the 200th floor of his one-room apartment. Crammed into his apartment complex were hundreds of decrepit and downtrodden shady individuals, much like himself, all struggling, but all surviving.
"You are accepted into the ranks of a covert, clean-up organization known as the IllumiCorp Whenever an Occult incident breaks out, we're the ones stuck cleaning up the mess. Remember Roswell in 1947 and Waco in 1993? That was us. Or rather, our friends in Texas who brought a little too much attention to themselves, but to this day, there are still those who doubt humanity's first autopsy on extraterrestrials

Remember the Great Zombie Outbreaks of 2002, 2105, and 2329?
Good - you weren't supposed to hear about those missions."

Basically, the setting of the RP is planet Earth in the year 2500, technology has become integrated into daily life to the point where it is indistinguishable from magic. Although this is a Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk RP, there will be many magic elements to this RP, since it is so integral to the Lovecraft mythos and mood.

And yes, Amalvi is right.

I'd like to be a human mage. Probably combat and battlefield control oriented.

You can't be a human mage because the humans are not of the Mage race, unless you meant a half-human, half-mage (as in a human and mage offspring, which I'm cool with,) but you should know that your Magic will take a drastic decline in usefulness, since Magic favors pure Magi blood.

You can't claim all of the minor houses of the Vale, you'd control House Arryn, and make sheets for that. If your application is successful, then if anyone else wishes to make a house in the Vale then matters will be discussed with you, but you do not have god-like control of that region.

Ohh the way the post made it look as if they were both for the same thing.
Since the dawn of civilization, Black Magick/Magic has been persecuted and disallowed in all societies. Due to Human and Mage (Magi) intervention throughout the centuries, Black Magick was heavily-oppressed and pushed into obscurity. The natural good in everyone's heart ensured that such anathema knowledge remain locked away, fortunately for them. However, there are those whose curiosity brings them too close to the edge and they fall over, and what they fall into is more powerful than anything previously known, but also more difficult to control and with infinitely more variables to keep track of than is humanly possible. Very few possess the knowledge, required to venture into this Dark territory, but every being in recorded and pre-recorded history who has managed to train themselves in the arcane Dark arts, has managed to acquire a negative reputation. It is not uncommon for Black Magic to outright kill the mage or wielder if he is not of strong, pureborn blood.
Character Sheet
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Character Class: Melee/Ranged/Magic? All Magic-users are Magi. Humans are generally the Melee/Ranged classes.
Thelema: Gray or White Only, for now. Due to how uncommon and dangerous, Black Thelema is.

5 Sins of Magick
1. Power
2. Greed
3. Fallacy & Farce
4. Reliance
5. Death from life, life from death. (Murder & Necromancy)[/i]

All Magic falls into 3 categories known as Thelema; Black, Gray, White
The breakdown of magicks and where they fit within the 3 Thelema are somewhat complex.

Black

Blood Magic – Active. (Not much is known about Active Blood Magic other that it can have all sorts of strange and unpredicted effects. Also it does really require blood, either the caster's or someone else's.)
Necromancy/Golemancy/Creation Magics (Different from Conjuring, which requires access to a source Grey or White spiritual energy, such as a tree, rock, river, wind or field of grass. Whereas Necromancy requires access to any object which is either lacking a soul or whose soul has departed. Thus, Golems fall into Creation Magic as well.
Hexes (Permanent, always malicious, often nightmarish, can not be dispelled by Blessings.)

Grey

Blood Magic – Passive
Telepathing/Telekinetic Magics – (Uninvited telepathy, Jedi Mind Tricks, moving objects around with your mind. Telekinesis is limited by the Karmic Law of Threefold - only to objects which are equal to/less than the amount of weight the Mage could lift if there were 3 of him. )
Conjuring (Self-explanatory.)
Curses (Used far more often for mischief rather than as malice, but curses wear off over time and can be counteracted by Blessings.)

White

Healing - Self-explanatory, use is restricted by human law to clergy and medicinemen.
Elemental – Active Bolts of thunder, fireballs, etc. These are extremely difficult to conjure up, even for veteran mages, everyone who chooses White Thelema will begin with a WATER spell, a FIRE Spell, an ELECTRICITY spell and an EARTH spell.
Elemental - Passive/Supportive (Defensive/offensive Buffs rely on the elements to work and are ineffective during the nighttime or when the sun is hidden from view.)
Blessings (Blessings only work with the mindset of altruism and compassion, you can not Bless yourself or others to make more money as that would qualify as Greed and Reliance.

In the world of Aum, a world much like ours, there began a catastrophe known only as “THE LOSS.” In the 1011th Year of the 6th Moon Cycle of the Gray Age, “The Loss”began to plague the Magi of this world. Scholars argue about the specific exact date, however, it is widely accepted that the Year 1011 of this age, is when mages first began to become aware of condition, however, it may well have started before that.

As of that date, Magi have began to steadily, slowly, but surely began losing their magical powers and prowess. It was as though the very matrix upon which magic is cast began to crumble around them – much like a silkweaver without any fabric, or perhaps a blacksmith with no ore. A fisherman with no sea in which to fish.

Only once has this event happened in Magi history, over a millennia ago, in Year 999 of the First Black Age and records are unclear as to what was done about that occurrence of The Loss. However, the oldest surviving record about the first catastrophe is simply a folk tale that speaks of a brave warrior-mage who climbs to the summit of the great Mied'kilm Mountain and regains the Mana.

----

Every Magi on the planet has noticed The Loss and tens of thousands of Magi are on a pilgrimage to the holy mountain, hoping to find answers and regain their Magick. All the mages are in a state of panic and since the Magi have no official system of government, rather they co-habitate with the humans who are more prone to being kings and politicians, the only possible lead they have is this obscure folk tale.

So as you can imagine, this RP will be very magic/fantasy-heavy, but will have mature themes as well. This is not Harry Potter. Not everyone needs to play a Mage, since many people other than the Magi are affected Magic as well, including humans to some degree. You can play a Ranger or Warrior or Cleric any other Fantasy-class you can come up with. Although Knights, Rangers/archers, etc. are able to use magic, their proficiency is not as good as a Magi/Mage.

This sounds like a really cool setting. I will throw my hat into the ring with a healer/scholar type character.

Good to have you on board. I'll put up the OOC very soon..
