Bio: Liza lives with her mom. More accurately, her mom lives with her. Her older brother is in the middle of an internship in Germany and her father and step-mom are currently living in Miami, Florida. Liza has been taking online college courses, majoring in mathematics, while her brother studying to take over the family business. Mr. Montgomery is a very wealthy business owner. He pays for all living expenses and schooling for Liza. Most of the money he gives her either sits and gathers dust in her bank account or is spent by her mother on God-knows-what. Liza has recently found herself very disinterested in the "world of the living", as she calls it. Never much of a social butterfly, she has been playing Argon Online ever since it first came out and it has quickly become her new addiction. Her life a structured regime-- wake up, breakfast, exercise, school, lunch, game, dinner, game, sleep. With this regime, it is direly important that she not acquire any friends-- she has told this to her mother, as well as her brother, many times. They don't seem to understand how someone can be so alone and yet so content. Liza felt it was only natural she select a class that she can best relate to.

Personality: Liza is stoic and logical. Very rarely does she allow emotion to dictate her thinking. Her ego, however, is another story. She can be very headstrong and sometimes has a tendency to take things too far. That being said, she is still quite wise for her age-- this rare side of her only seems bare it's nasty head in the face of someone she considers to be "competition". She tends to see through the masks that so many people wear. She is very slow to trust other people-- and very quick to call out bullshit.

Sorry that took so long.
Abel rolled a small pebble inside his mouth from cheek to cheek, trying to mask his discontent with his odd dwarvish habit. The trip had not been very delightful thus far. They had been kept on a very strict schedule-- leaving positively no time to relax and (most importantly) socialize. The poor members of his party did not seem to be as accustomed to traveling as Abel was, either. He ascertained this to be the reason why nobody seemed capable of socializing whilst walking.

Heโ€™d hoped to make friends on this trip, but three days in and nobody had so much as said "good morning". Heโ€™d paid such acute attention when everyone provided his or her names. Perhaps he should just forget them, along with any hope of friendship. He had attempted to strike up many conversations, but he knew how to take social cues and heโ€™d sooner die than make a poor first impression.

Perhaps the most frustrating part of this whole situation was that the majority of the group was female. Of course, he meant this in the most positive sense of the word. The only other guy in the group was just barely a man. Abel knew what that meant. He inwardly sighed and tipped his brown felt hat as he glanced up at the clear blue sky. With so many beautiful women so ripe for the picking, how was he supposed to choose one?

First there was Illumina-- long brown hair and stunning blue eyes. She had what most people would call โ€œa rockinโ€™ bod.โ€ The scar on her face added a sort of mystic to her personaโ€ฆ it kinda made him wonder what sort of scars she might have under her clothes (harr harr). She was a bit hard to read, but Abel got the impression she might be one of those hard-to-get sort of girls. Not that he considered that a problem. He loved a challenge almost as much as he loved easy pickings.

Second, there was Elisha. She had a sort of dark mystic all of her ownโ€”and he wasnโ€™t just talking about her skin. She was small-- cute, even. Heโ€™d idly wondered what she might look like with longer hair and something other than that ghastly brown cloak that was completely obstructing his view of the form fitting leather underneath. Nonetheless- much like Illumina, she was quite the difficult read. Oddly enough, he could not see the two as being very similar. He couldn't quite put his finger on why.

Then there was Baroness Kristen Sallis. As a married woman-- and mother, no less-- she wore both titles exquisitely well. Even so, fawning over her was much like fawning over a bone in the mouth of a bear. Abel would be lying if he said he hadnโ€™t asked himself whether or not she was happily married, but even he knew better than to touch another manโ€™s lady-- especially a baronโ€™s. "Forbidden fruit, so sweet to eat while death is nipping at thy feet"... some stupid rhyme he'd heard back in the village.

Lastly there was Lyra. Of all the women present, the beautiful, curvaceous Lyra had piqued the most of his interest. This was not for reasons founded in lust (wellโ€ฆ maybe a little), but more for the fact that she was both an elf and uncharacteristically short. One look at Lyraโ€™s body would quickly dispel any suspicions of her still being a child. He wondered if she happened to be an albmot, like him. Not having had an opportunity to speak with her beyond introductions, however, he had no idea. He wondered if it was obvious to the other members of his group whether or not he himself was an albmot. She had not shown any animosity towards him upon meeting, so either she was just like him or didn't mind half-breeds.

โ€œHey, looks like that guy might want some help,โ€ Steven said, breaking Abel's train of thought. Oh GODS! How long had he been talking? Abel anxiously glanced at each of the members of his group. Theyโ€™d started talking and heโ€™d completely missed it! Had any of the girls said anything? Lyra?

That was when he noticed Lyra already making her way towards a young boy, searching for something among the rocks and boulders just off the path. This was his chanceโ€” Dwarven Gods be damned if he was going to watch it go by just like that!

โ€œI think we should definitely help the poor kid out,โ€ he nodded, stepping (almost a little too quickly) in Lyraโ€™s direction. He quickly caught himself and continued to casually follow her. โ€œDid you lose something?โ€ he asked, following Lyraโ€™s question as he neared.
Few quick questions... are our characters the only ones in this group that has already been traveling together for three days or are there more people in it? If it's just us, I'm assuming character meetings and greetings are over with at this point so... perhaps we should discuss what sort of terms everyone is on with each other? I really haven't put a ton of thought into how everyone will get along since I expected to be writing about when he introduced himself to everyone, but I'm a little lost as it stands now.

Also... Lord Santa, I'm sorry, but I can't help but feel like Steven is saying an awful lot to be assuming nobody will respond. Abel is very outgoing and would have been the first person to respond to anything he might have said if given the chance. It's making it a bit awkward for me to think of how I should have my character enter his 'conversation'. Lyra's character didn't really strike me as the type to ignore people either. Perhaps you could leave us with a better opening to respond? Someone might want to point out the troubled boy that taistelusopuli mentioned as well (and they likely would have done it before traveling too far).
I would probably say it depends on which section I am in. In the Advanced section, I would expect the other players to not only read the entire description of my character, but also reference it in the IC itself. If I'm posting in casual-- and perhaps this is overly cynical of me-- I count myself lucky if they read the whole thing... much less reference it in the roleplay itself/EVER. All in all, I would much rather just use a picture instead of put a bunch of effort into a description that nobody else except me seems to care about.

Personally, I do prefer more detailed descriptions and I whole-heartedly wish that was the trend, but it's not. It's frustrating to have a crystal clear picture of one character while all the others are the equivalent of old-school runescape graphics.

If I like an RP enough I tend to draw the characters-- and the only characters I spontaneously tend to draw are the ones I can picture. (Especially since I have, in the past, drawn "fuzzy descriptionless runscape blobs just to be treated with a "that's not how they look" instead of thanks)

I don't think numbers like 5'7" and 150lbs have any place in IC, but when listed in the character sheet, it doesn't detract from the story at all and only adds to everyone being able to collectively be on the same page.
Interested...
Color me interested.
#4 would be my top pick.
