The stuff that happened on my end was that the plot I wasn't able to finish forever ago ended up with Ruby being captured. Soren exchanged his life for Ruby being freed and his world being saved, but Ruby was able to resurrect his essence (and subsequently him) as she discovered a way to intertwine order and chaos. Unfortunately, resurrecting him allowed him to be alive for the summer solstice, just a minute or two after he was resurrected. According to a prophecy, chaos would return on that specific summer solstice and wreak havoc on countless universes; the whole reason the Order was trying to kill him. ANd of course, since he was alive, the first form of Chaos, Svár, was released from within him and took over.

That's it.
