The original 6 do get resurrected, but I've been thinking of having it such that each new circumstance in the increasingly unlucky series of the three driving book twists will directly affect the Mane 6 and cause them to have to be isolated until such time that they can be fixed. Thus, Sweetie Belle can't make it right yet. Then I can make what you said work. That's perfect!
