Coriana passed through the gate of the town, taking in the eerie silence that hung over the streets. She dimmed the fire burning in her palm; strange elves with burning hands often struck fear into the townsfolk. The few people left on the streets scurried out of her way or froze in awe. A common reaction, though Coriana was still discomforted by the thought that her presence and reputation alone were enough to shock a commoner. Regardless, she did her best to smile at those she passed by, for she understood the simple heartwarming power of a friendly face.

The lack of security at the gate was telling. Either the guards had abandoned their posts, or they were dead. Coriana winced slightly at the thought. The stories she had heard of giants were chilling, and though still young, Coriana was wise enough to know that the giants would be the least of the problems the land would soon face. All she had to do was ask some simple questions: why were the giants attacking? What was this ancient weapon rumored to be hidden within Kehema? There was a greater power at work here, and Coriana felt it her duty to find a swift resolution. A daunting task, but at least she wouldn't be alone.

Coriana felt her legs buckle slightly. It seemed that her natural physical strength had finally given; a full day and night's worth of walking could do that to a young elf. She stopped briefly to perform a quick transmutation of energy; she sapped her magic reserves and converted it into a more usable form. The transmutation gave her a gentle yellow glow, the physical manifestation of the draining of her magic. When she was done, she pressed on into the town, unsure of who exactly she was looking for.

From what she understood, Coriana was looking for two humans, two dwarven brothers, and another elf. Coriana groaned inwardly. Her experiences with her own kin had not been stellar since she had left the forests. Many of them were either thieves up to no good or lecherous bachelors looking for a partner for the night - or both, if she was truly unlucky. Much of it was credited to the masculine inclinations, but realistically, how often was it that a human or a dwarf would go out of their way to flirt with an elven woman? No, most of Coriana's bad experiences shared in common one thing: elven males.

But it was unprofessional and unwise for Coriana to think of such things at a time like this. She had a job to do, and she intended on doing it well. She had wandered for almost half an hour before she found herself at the riverbank. The soft sound of running water was soothing; Coriana made her way to the shoreline, wading into the river at about an ankle's depth. Sure, she was looking for some people and sure, she had more important things to be doing. But really, who would mind if she took a few minutes to relax?

Name: Coriana Alaros
Gender: Female
Age: 112
Race: Elf
Class: Mage

Appearance:

At 5’7, Coriana is slightly above average height for an elf. The image speaks for the rest, really.
Beyond her simple robes and staff, Coriana has no other equipment to note.

Personality: Reserved, compassionate, and wise beyond her age, though with the potential for a great anger. Coriana does not pride herself in her abilities, rather letting her actions speak for themselves. Such actions are often motivated by a need to promote the greater good, rather than any significant personal gain.

Background: Born in one of many elven towns in the forests around Overna, Coriana showed signs of magical ability at a very young age. Under the tutelage of the village priests, Coriana focused on her talent, eventually matching her mentors in skill by the time she was in her mid-twenties. By 40, she was regarded as the most powerful mage of the elven villages. Hoping to hone her talent even further, the villages decided to send her off into the human world. She wandered from city to city, endlessly practicing her magic and absorbing knowledge.

Coriana spent much of her time from her fifties to her seventies around healers and priests, quickly mastering healing techniques and defensive spells. By this time, she had earned a small reputation as the “Wandering Mage of Overna,” as commonfolk gossiped of her power. Much of the rumors spread spoke of her gentle soul and kind demeanor, though often were accompanied by whispers of a destructive strength with no match. Coriana often laughed at such rumors; there was truth to them, though never to the extremes that she heard.

The most common (true) story told spoke of both extremes in the same incident. While travelling between cities, Coriana stumbled across a farming village suffering from bandit attacks and a severe shortage in crops. She stayed in the village for several weeks, “speaking” to the earth in an effort to bring food to the village. She ultimately found herself successful, though that only motivated the bandits to press the village harder for their supplies.

Both her compassion for the villagers and her pride over her weeks of work angered Coriana; within an hour of the beginning of the bandit attack, Coriana had defeated every last one of the attackers. Again, it came at a cost: her weeks of work followed by such an eruption of her energy sapped Coriana of all her remaining strength. She fell unconscious, and was comatose for nearly a month while her body recovered under the care of the villagers. Upon her revival, Coriana simply thanked the villagers for helping her recover before moving on before the villagers could give her any further thanks.

Naturally, Coriana heard the calls for adventurers to investigate the ruins to the south. Only further motivated by her interest in the mystery of the ruins and her qualification solidified by the rumors and stories about her, Coriana could not refuse.
I'm currently writing a mage, actually!

I'm definitely interested.
Name: Alysia
Human Alias: Alissa Chang
Age: 22

Appearance: Alysia stands at a tiny 4’10. Her butterfly-like wings spread five feet behind her, colored a deep ocean blue. Her pale, sea green skin and baby blue eyes create a very oceanic color palette for her body. She wears her wavy platinum hair long, down to her waist, rarely styling it. Other those features, however, not much differentiates Alysia from a human. She has a thin, fragile frame, though she has a strength unexpected of her size.

Façade: Alysia prefers a facade inspired by her time in Asia. Her fair skin and single eyelid eyes are framed by black hair of the similar length to her actual appearance. However, unlike her real hair, Alysia is much more inclined to experiment with her facade hair, sometimes changing the length or styling. However, her clothing is not as important to her, often donning a simple pullover hoodie and jeans, though she does try to maintain the oceanic color palette her body has without her facade.

Personality: Alysia prefers a quieter life, leaving the attention and publicity of pranking to those more inclined to the spotlight. Rather, she enjoys the small indulgences to keep her happy; she has intense passions for food and music. Her passions often keep her in the company of humans, though humans are more likely to be attracted to Alysia than she is to them. While Alysia is fully capable of feeling attracted to others, she'd simply prefer not to - not that she always has a choice. Those that do manage to wedge themselves into Alysia's life see a much different side of her. Often with those she is close with, Alysia is still quiet and reserved, but much more playful and childlike.

Bio: Alysia hasn't always been a lonely, quiet soul. For most of her past that she can remember, she was actually a very outgoing individual. She enjoyed the social lifestyle and she enjoyed getting involved with humans, though her passions for food and music were the same. She spent most of her time around Europe, primarily indulging in Mediterranean culture and cuisine. For her, life was simple and good.

In the twentieth century, with the outbreak of the first World War, Alysia was harshly disillusioned with the reality of human behavior. The dramatic change tore apart everything Alysia believed about the humans. She backpacked throughout the Mediterranean throughout the early 30’s, hiding out in the Greek islands during World War II. The cruelty of the war followed by the shock of the discovery of the concentration camps only served to further disillusion Alysia. She chose to leave Europe completely in the late 40’s, choosing to wander through Asia. By the time of the Korean and Vietnamese Wars, Alysia was already a completely different person. For much of the 50’s and 60’s, she completely stopped talking.

She eventually moved to the United States during the late 70’s, and it was there that she found the spark that made her love life once again. In 1983, she met a 19 year old girl named Christine. Christine reminded Alysia of everything that she used to be: fun, outgoing, and sociable. The two quickly became close friends, moving in with each other only a year after they met. Soon enough, their relationship began, and Alysia found happiness once more. They had a happy relationship until Christine started to notice that Alysia - or Alissa, as she was known - hadn’t aged a day since they first met.

Then the questions began, followed by the wild accusations, then the conspiracy theories, finished off by Alysia dropping her facade in a panic. Her sudden disappearance sealed the deal for Christine. She stormed out of their apartment, leaving Alysia alone again.

Despite the heartbreak of Christine leaving, Alysia had learned to be happy again. Eventually she moved on, and though she tried to stay out of relationships, they happened anyway. Her maturation took a big step during her time with Christine, and Alysia keeps with her the memories of their relationship.
