Current Apologies to those I rp with; life is hectic at the moment and I'm trying to piece everything together. I'll respond when I can.

"I can hear you, dumbass." Lydia said flatly, glaring at them. She sighed softly before walking over to them, hating what she had to do next. "Look, I'm...sorry for attacking you. It's just that I have issues...a lot of issues." She said before holding out her hand to them. "I'm Delia. The Maitlands took me in."
Lydia sighed softly, a little unsure about all this before looking at the Maitlands. Both had been so kind and caring to her that she knew it would hurt their feelings if she didn't go. "Fine. I'll give it a try." She said with a little brave smile.

___

"I can't do this."

Lydia had just been dropped off at the school, students swarming around like ants on an anthill. "There's no way I'm going to survive the day." She added. Things turned worse when she heard a familiar voice.

"Hey, Nate. Isn't that Psycho Girl from the mall?" Zach asked.
"Yeah, but I don't think it'll go over well when they find out about the literal demon on my shoulder." Lydia replied. That, and she didn't know what would happen if Beetlejuice got bored while at school with her. She could see the headline now: Local School Terrorized by Demon.

"What are you going to tell the principal about my school records? Don't they kinda need those?"
Lydia smiled a little at her, she was just too precious to be this sweet. She definitely wouldn't be this way if she saw the things Lydia went through. As the next few days passed, she taught them sign language, politely correcting them if they made a mistake. Then the other shoe dropped on her one evening.

"School?!" She exclaimed, almost choking on her dinner.
Lyds is the only one who understands him.

Beej: *curses someone in Russian among the lines of using their blood to water their garden and use their body as fertilizer*

Maitlands: What did he say?

Lyds: He said that he wants their flowers to grow.
"Everything I've told you has been the truth. Even those languages I picked up." Lydia replied.

"I even know sign language my mom taught me when I was little. That's how Beej and I communicated when we didn't want those as- jerks to overhear us." She added, catching herself as she started to curse. Man, that was going to be a hard habit to kick.

"I can teach you what I know if you want." She offered.
The whole language thing can be summed up perfectly to this.

Beetlejuice: Who the fuck-?

Maitlands: Language!

Beetlejuice: Excuse me. Whom the fuck
"Beej, come on. They're our only safe haven right now. If we have to leave because of that then...I'll give you the silent treatment. I won't even summon you." Lydia threatened. It might have been too cruel or even a huge bluff, but she was right. The Maitlands were the only ones they could trust in town.
Lydia chuckled softly at Beetle Cat before gently scratching between his ears as if he was a normal cat. It was one of his forms she was fond of aside from his true one, it had helped calm her in the past. She followed the Maitlands out to the car, placing Beetlejuice in the seat beside her. "I'm pretty sure language is the first rule." She said once they were alone.
Lydia nodded solemnly in reply before looking at the clearly spooked couple. "Please don't turn us away. There's nowhere else we can go unless Beej teleports me there. We'd always be on the run until they finally capture us again. They'll separate Beej and I from each other for who knows how long. It's torture to us. We're somehow linked. He can't go a certain distance without me, if he does he's unsummoned automatically." She said.

"He's really not that bad once you get used to him. He's the only family I have left."
