"Beej!" Lydia hissed before signing at him to be quiet and look around for anything that didn't belong in the house like small microphones or cameras. She then looked over at the Maitlands, thankful she had taught them sign language before talking to them.

"I know he wants us safe, but we've been trapped in a cell for years. All we wanted was freedom and now it feels like we're trapped again." She signed.

Lydia hugged her back before looking over at Adam. "We wanted to visit you guys. We've been in a cabin for weeks and were starting to go crazy. Long as Dad doesn't know we snuck out and we keep a low profile we're safe." She explained.

"Beej, behave yourself." Lydia said before sighing softly. "He is right though, we were going to check in on them and let them know we're okay."

She headed over to the window before looking back at her friends. "We'll try to visit again when we can. In the meantime, you never saw us or ever heard of us, right?"

"Beetlejuice." Lydia simultaneously corrected and scolded before looking over at Nate. "No, nothing like that. It's more like...that bald guy in the wheelchair who has that school for gifted kids." She explained, forgetting the name.

"Professor X? That's so cool!" Zach grinned

"Probably once the facility isn't looking for us but who knows how long until that blows over. Also, you can't get rid of Beej that easily. He's staying for a while." Lydia smiled as she looked over at the demon who was now a miniature dragon version of himself fighting the figurines.

"There's something I found out about my mom, and myself." She said before telling them how her mom was a witch and that's probably how she got her powers. "I've been learning how to control it and have a grasp on it."

"Hey, nerds." Lydia teased as she grinned before telling them everything that was going on.

"Wait, Mr. Charles is your real dad?!" Zach exclaimed, mouth agape.

"Yeah, and he'd totally freak out if he knew we were out here after the deal we made. We're supposed to wait until we're sure the facility isn't looking for us anymore but Beej and I were going crazy being cooped up."

Maybe finds out that they snuck out of the house to check on the labradoodles and her friends when they don't know if it's really safe from the facility so he starts scolding/arguing with her.

"It's the only reasonable thing I can come up with. I don't remember anyone at the facility doing anything to me that would give me these powers." Lydia replied before sighing softly.

"The difficult part now is learning how to control it so I don't hurt anyone." She whispered.
