People had always thought that the discovery of magic would bring out a great era in humanity. That science and magic as one would open the gateways to new worlds. However, what if it were the exact opposite. When magic was discovered, it was used as a weapon. Not everyone could use magic and so those who relied on science focused all their efforts on finding out how to end it. Soon it became an arms race, magic and science only focused on making methods to wipe each other out. Two forces arose to fight. The Complex which relied on science, and The Maverous Society which relied on magic. This arms race soon ignited into a war with no clear victor. This war ravaged the world turning it into a wasteland. You are a survivor of the war. Tired from the fighting and now just trying to survive but this war is not over, it's far from it.

That is the general idea. Not that this world is not earth. A war of science vs magic has ravaged the world and turned it into a wasteland and you will be one of the people trying to survive. Your character can relying on magic, science, or a little bit of both. I'm hoping this gets good interest as this is an rp i'm really looking forward to doing.

Wasteland

Land long destroyed by the war. Ravaged cities and dead lands make up these areas. Outposts can be found all around. The wasteland is full of all kinds of people, treasures, and abominations created by both sides of the war.

A massive city covered in storms. it is said that the greatest treasures of technological marvel during the war can be found here. That is if the remnant of The Complex doesn't kill you first.

The Heart of Maverous has used their magic to restore the land in their territory. Artifacts of great magical value and power can be found here. The Maverous Society has remnants the live here and the are very strict. Those who bring examples of advanced technology will be killed on site.


The Complex: This faction relied on science during the war. Those belonging to this side despise magic, whether because it is too dangerous or easily abused, they all have their reasons. They would never be caught using magic as they hate it. They don't journey into the wasteland often but if found are extremely dangerous. Their technological advantage makes them extremely dangerous in combat. They will not hesitate to kill and Maverous member.

The Maverous Society: This faction relied on magic during the war. Those belonging to this side hate advanced technology. Whether it be because it damaged the planet or was used to wipe them out, they have their reasons. They don't go into the wasteland often but have extremely powerful magic that gives them an advantage in combat. They will not hesitate to kill any Complex member.

Undecided: Those who simply don't care which holds dominant, they are willing to use both and don't hold a strong belief in either side. They use what they can to survive.

Magic: Magic does have limitations. For one, it takes concentration and focus to cast a spell regardless of what it is. A fireball won't take much focus but it can still backfire if you aren't careful. Magic also acts as stamina, using too much can tire you out if your body isn't used to it. 
Types of magic: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Light, Summoning, Enchanting.

Technology: It may be advanced but there are still imitations. Energy weapons do exist but take up a lot of power. Power armor does exist but is extremely rare to find if not part of the complex. Power armor is more advanced then that of fallout but not near iron man suit level. Robotics is advanced as there are combat machines and robotic limbs. Nano tech also is around but only the complex has it.

These are failed experiments of both sides of the war that now roam the wasteland.
This list will expand as more are introduced.

Demons:

These shadowy beasts are the result of a low point in the Maverous society. At a losing point in the war, they turned to dark methods to achieve the power they needed to win. Infusing their dark and negative emotions with magic into a single being, they created a monster that roams at night to infect and drain the magic of others. Physical attacks do not work on them but they despise light. They are the only manifestation to dark m agic that exists.

Ravagers:

These monstrous creatures were created by the Complex. Wanting a way to psychologically mess with the Maverous Society. They sought to make their troops more brutal. The chemical resulted in making their infected troops feral and extremely aggressive. They no longer have the mental capacity to use weapons as they go into a fit of pure rage when seeing someone who isn't infected.

Not to extent of different species but they are unique differences.

Humans:Normal people that could use magic, some cant.

Cyborgs: You get the point, people that are mechanically augmented. Parts of their body do run on a power cell so it can be dangerous for them if it is to ever get damaged or shut down. 

Angels: People augmented with magic to reach physical limitations that humans can't. They makes a great meal for demons too.

Titans: People that the Complex genetically modified to increase their physical capabilities farther than a humans. Ravagers will target them more as they can detect them as a higher threat.

List of safe places in the wasteland that have been founded by people. Ill add more later but for now i just have one.

The Haven: a decent sized outpost founded by a man named Mythious. This outposts is widely known for the center of attention when it comes to trading.
