I'm in the process of moving so I'm currently a bit CrAzY at the second. Hopefully, I'll be back to normal reply schedule soon (after the move and the insanity of getting basic unpacking done)

As the Doctor opened the door and turned to leave, Miranda saw that his face was slightly red. Was he embarrassed? If they were doing something she might be a bit embarrasses as well, however, they did nothing wrong. Besides, it wasn't anyone elses business. But then again... she would probably be blushing as well if a few of her friends saw them together and started teasing. It was hard not to, despite the fact that she didn't care what others thought. Or at least didn't show it.

Following him out of the room, she glanced at the Doctor. "Maybe split up?" She suggested. They would cover more ground and though finding each other later would be a bit more difficult she wasn't the type to just hide behind someone else. Heading off, she ignored the looks from the other cast who watched her head toward one of the doors.

"You can't leave." One woman whispered harshly glancing toward the distracted director. "You'll get into trouble."

Miranda looked at her. "You have no problems with people dying?" She inquired, keeping her voice low as well.

The woman shrugged. "It can't be helped. Your family is provided for. Besides, where are you going to go? They have the right to pull anyone in and hold them to it."

Miranda smirked. "Right. Don't talk to me about legalities. Where I'm from, this would be illegal." She said turning and placing her hand on the door. She frowned as she wondered if she should have said that but shrugged it off. She didn't actually say she was a time traveler. Opening the door she quickly went through it. Following a long hallway she made her way into a lift and looked at the numbers. One always meant the bottom. But from her experience the people in charge always were on top. This way they could look out and down at the people below. Looking at the numbers she was surprised to see that there was five hundred levels. This place was enormous. Pressing five hundred she watched as the doors started to close.

"Hold it." A voice called out, as a guard quickly stopped the doors from closing. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" He asked.

"Hi. I'm Miranda. I'm looking to see who's responsible for this establishment?" Apparently her dazzling smile didn't affect him. Looking her over, he frowned. "You should be in the theatre room." He declared, still standing in the way so the doors couldn't close. "Let's go." He said nodding for her to step out.

"I'd rather not." Miranda replied giving him an apologetic smile. "I really would like to know who is behind the whole controlling and killing."

Frowning, the guard pulled out a device. Not sure what it was but knowing it wasn't good, Miranda went for it only to trip over the custom. Stepping aside the guard smirked and pressed the button. "Now, now. Let's go back." He said taking control.

Trying to resist the command, Miranda gritted her teeth. However, she had to stand up. Suddenly a pair of whitish/blue shoes appeared. Looking up, Miranda saw the Doctor. What he was doing here, she wasn't sure but he had impeccable timing. "The device." She managed to push out as she stood, attempting to fight the control.

"Drop your weapons." One of the soldiers ordered.

"We don't have weapons." The Doctor replied holding up his hands. "See, all good." He grinned at them his hands coming back down. “Let’s see, uniforms, plasma guns, creepy hats…” He frowned thoughtfully. “Yeah, no idea where we are.” He said looking over at Clara. Spinning back around to face them, he pointed at them. “So, fellows. Guns huh?” He said. “Couldn’t you point them at someone else?” He inquired.

“How did you get here?” The one soldier demanded.

The Doctor grinned. “The question I’d like to know is who are you after.” He said starting to walk around, ignoring the fact that their guns are were following. “I mean the Triad usually is after someone from what I know they’re usually innocent.” He declared.

When Clara asked who the Triad was he nodded toward the soldiers. “They are. Well, the organization. They’re like bounty hunters in the 81st century.” He bit a hand up and whispered. “Top secret supposedly. A bit lame.”

“How do you know who we are?” The one soldier asked gripping his gun tightly.

“Though the question is, either the person you are looking for is easy to find our you blokes are running low on recruits. Kind of raw aren’t you?” He asked.

The three straightened. “This is our first mission, Sir.” Another one stated.

“Don’t tell him anything, Alfred.” The leader lectured. “He could be a spy.”

“Or I can be doing a surprise inspection.” The Doctor said pulling out the sonic paper. “See, Triad inspectors. I’m the Doctor this is Clara.”

The soldier frowned. “It’s blank.” He said. “That’s physic paper.” He said eyes narrowing.

“Well it was worth a shot.” The Doctor said. He looked at Clara. “Run.” He said grabbing her hand and dashing off.

“After them.” The soldier yelled.

Dashing down the long tunnels, the Doctor was glad that Clara was wearing pants. It made getting away a lot faster though he didn’t think about the fact that his long legs might be making it harder for her. No, all he thought about was the thrill of having a companion and going on adventures again. Even if they were getting shot at.
Ducking into a corner they waited until the three soldiers the Doctor waited until the three soldiers ran past before looking over at Clara. He grinned. This was exciting. If only they could figure out what was going on, where they were and why the TARDIS brought them here. But then again, that was always the fun of an adventure. Finding out as you went along.

A click sounded and he spun around. A figure stood in the shadows weapon pointed at them. From the way the weapon was positioned it was clear that the individual was a lot more skilled then the three soldiers that they had ran across. “What are you doing here?” A young woman stepped out of the shadows and looked at them. Her blond hair was pulled back in a ponytail and there was a hint of amusement on her face.

The Doctor frowned. “No.” He said shaking his hand. “It can’t be. Jenny?” He inquired.

The smile vanished and the woman stared at him. “Do I know you?” She asked a bit suspiciously. When Clara mentioned his name asking him who person was, she looked sharply at him. “Doctor? As in the Doctor?” She frowned puzzled. “You don’t look the same.”

“Regeneration.” The Doctor replied a bit dazed. “You’re dead.” He said. “You shouldn’t be here.”

The girl smiled. “Regeneration. Except apparently I didn’t change features. Lucky for me.” She grinned and pointed the gun away. “Hello Dad. Miss me?”
Trex blinked a bit surprised as the exceed launched forward attaching itself to his leg. "Uh..." He looked down at the exceed and then up again. This was a bit awkward. Then of all times to show up, Zelia came around the corner. Giving a polite forced smile, he just listened to her laugh at him. Right. He rolled his eyes when she talked to the exceed. It wasn't that he was hard it was more like...focused. He didn't have a lot of time to get sidetracked with pleasantries - though when the job called for it he could. Shrugging at Zelia's question, he looked down at the little exceed. "Where did you last see your friend?" He asked not completely agreeing but willing to help. Maybe he just lost him. It was a large city, maybe they would find him quickly. "What guild is he from?" He asked. There was a few major guilds here in the capitol. All they would have to do is take him to his guild and he'll find his friend. When the exceed said they weren't part of any guild and went into the story of how he woke up several months ago with the dragon slayer gone. Trex frowned slightly. That seemed strange. Why would the dragon slayer leave? It just seemed...strange. "Did you two get into a fight?" He inquired curious. When the exceed shook his head, tears starting to show Trex cleared his throat awkward. "Don't worry, we'll help." He promised. He never did like seeing someone small crying. Or anyone for that matter. Not if he could do something about it.

He looked at Zelia. "We can take him back to Fairy Tail. Maybe Natsu, Gajeel, or Wendy will know where this Gyatsu is." He replied. It would take them a bit longer before heading to the farm but maybe they could help the little guy out. He looked back at the exceed. "What's your name?" He inquired not knowing what to call it. When it gave its name he nodded. "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Trex and you've already meet Zelia." He looked back at her. "We should probably head back to the wagon. Skye and Trex will be wondering where we are at." He looked at Bodo. "We have a bit of a ways to go." He told the exceed. "But I'm sure you'll like Flynn and Skye. They have a pretty fun game they can teach you." He stated walking back toward the wagon.

Seeing it parked on the side, he glanced over at Zelia as she mentioned that they weren't heading back. "What?" He inquired. "Why?" As she explained he nodded. That actually sounded like a good idea. Though, he had been hoping Bodo would hang out with the youngest member, maybe getting her to open up a bit. Females always seemed to like little animals thinking they're cute so it might. But it worked. This way after Zelia and him talked to Natsu and Gajeel about this Gyatsu, they could head to his parents farm. It wasn't that he didn't want Skye and Flynn along it was more of a matter of saving face as he knew his brothers would undoubtedly do something crazy. Besides, Skye was a bit fragile at the moment and he wasn't sure if his brothers would not overdue their teasing. Something they were really good at doing.

Skye had been impressed at the way Flynn had just smoothly tossed it in when Zelia have much time to argue let alone discuss it. "Smooth." She said jumping in the back and packing everything up. Sure they were in the middle of a game but they hadn't gone far. Quickly remembering where the pieces to set it up later, she put them all away. As soon as the wagon came to a stop, she grabbed Flynn's bag along with hers and jumped out. Handing Flynn his bag, she waited for Trex and Zelia returned. She would actually prefer to leave now and avoid the goodbyes but it would be rude. So she waited until they came out of the alley. She frowned at the little cat seeming to cling close to Trex. What was that? Why did they have a cat?

Trex paused in front of Flynn and Skye seeing that they were ready to go. "Eager to get started?" He smirked pulling out the reward. Diving it up, he handed each one their share. "Oh, and before you go, this is Bodo. Bodo this is Flynn and Skye." He said remembering his manners.

Eager to go, Skye thanked Trex and put the money in her bag. Then he introduced the cat. That was a bit weird but she wasn't going to say anything. Supposedly the dragon slayers at Fairy Tail had their own cats, flying ones at that, but what they could do she really hadn't paid much attention. The articles she read up on the guild were mainly focused on the wizards not their pets. She ignored the few articles on the cats not sure why they wasted time on a creature that could only fly and meow. Then, Bodo spoke startling her. Quickly composing herself she stared at it amazed. Glancing back at it as she headed after Flynn she waited until they were a bit before whispering to him. "It can talk." She stated. "How is that possible?"
Not interested? Not interested in the best method of driving a car????
Jk. It is a bit complicated. Not many people teach it anymore. I had to learn outside of the driving school by the man who sold me my car and helped me fix it up.
But it's not really needed anymore.
But cool. I'm glad you got to have the joy (or nerves ) of driving a car. Maybe one day you can drive along and say "Do you ever get the impression that you're completely wasting your day?"

Buzzed? Like a wasp? Or buzzed as in Lightyear?
Trex smiled at Zelia's comment on seeing where he came from. It might not be much but it was home. And not counting the short phase that he went through on hating the place, he had loved it. Despite that, however, he wasn't going to move back. At least not for a long time if ever. He was a wizard, not a farmer. His brothers would take care of the farm and the animals and he would travel around the world keeping people safe. Still...He was glad to be able to go back and visit. He hadn't been home in several years now. They would have to stop in Magnolia before heading to his parents as he had a few gifts he wanted to get them. He glanced over at Zelia when she started up the game again. Shaking his head, he couldn't displace the smile on his face. "And you say I cheat." He declared, eyes twinkling.

He nodded to the slate. "Do you think Skye and Flynn will want to head to the country?" He inquired. He didn't know much about their finances but considering they hadn't been making a lot on the latest quests due to looking more for keys then taking jobs, he wondered if they would rather get another job and earn a bit more in case they hear about the next key. Either that, or Flynn and Skye might go looking for another key. Suddenly frowning, Trex held up a finger cutting Zelia off mid-stream. "Did you hear that?" He asked listening. There it was again. It was almost like a pitiful cry. Hearing some children laugh, Trex tossed the reins to Zelia and jumped down from the still rolling wagon. Heading toward the sound, his fist tightened. If it was what he thought it was he wasn't going to be very happy. Heading into the first ally he spotted the trouble. Two adolescent boys were tormenting a little cat/frog creature by a barrel of water. Holding the creature by its foot, one boy would dunk it under water while the other boy poked it with a stick. From where he stood, Trex saw that the cat/frog creature's front paws were bound tightly by a string and it didn't look good. It struggled and tried to escape but couldn't. Taking a stance Trex sent a wood root up splitting the barrel in half draining the water. Both boys glanced his way. Before either could speak, both found themselves knocked backwards by wooden branches.

Dropping the creature they took off not daring to look back. Ignoring them, Trex went over and broke the string. Upon closer examination he noticed it was a cat in a frog like outfit. Kids. His jaw clenched. Sure, someone might think that being a male, his brothers and him would have done something like this when they were younger but that was not the case. They had always treated animals right. It was breed in them. Not sure how to get the custom or whatever it was off, Trex set the cat down. "There you are." He told it. "I would be a bit careful around young kids." He noted, though he knew it probably wasn't its fault and that it would undoubtedly be a lot more careful now. Turning, he nearly jumped when the creature spoke. Turning around, he looked back at it. It was an exceed. He was an idiot. He didn't even spot it, not thinking that one of those noble creatures would be ensnared. "My apologies, little one." He said. "I mistook you for a cat. Are you alright?" He inquired.

Keeping her expression the same, Skye was glad when Flynn turned to fix the lines on the Pai Sho game. Did he not realize that she knew what powers Ryzo and Tye had? After so many years with them she better know them. However, she was glad he either didn't know or forgot. Ryzo's magic would be easy. She could explain it. But Tye... She contained a shudder. Quickly turning her expression back to neutral right before Flynn glanced up, she nodded at his suggestion to play another game. "Sure." She said getting off the bench and sitting cross legged on the floor. Unstrapping the sword, she set it aside so it wouldn't be in her way when she played. Shuffling the tiles she pulled dealt them. Spotting the white lotus in her pile she set it aside and drew again. She wondered how long it would take before running across it. "We don't need to play with it." She explained catching Flynn's look. "It's a bit complicated to use and only a handful of individuals, mainly masters." Masters and a few others. Eldar had told her once about an organization that used it. They aided each other and any who knew the secret. Which, he taught her. However, after he had died and even after she came to Fiore she had yet to find anyone who knew how to play with the white lotus, let alone know the secret method. Maybe when Flynn got better she would teach it to him. Then at least she wouldn't be the only one who knew if it worked. Still, whenever she found someone to play, which wasn't often, she would try it only to get surprised looks at her "antiquated" way.

She placed her piece down. Thinking about it got her wondering. She looked up at Flynn. "You know, as we are in the Capitol we could go to the Great Wizard Library and see if it has anything on the keys." She informed him, referring to the enormous library accessible only by light guild members. Next to the Council, it was probably the most guarded building in the land. Now that she was a member of Fairy Tail she could actually go in. All that knowledge. Perhaps there would be something on those few items she wanted to look up. The white lotus was one but compared to what she really wanted to know, it was minor. "Think we could see if Trex and Zelia could give us our part and excuse ourselves?" She paused. "Of course we would have to word it in a way where we don't expect them to stay with us so they can continue to Trex's place." She frowned. That might be better left up to Flynn.

The wagon came to a stop and she looked up. Trouble? They hadn't gone far. Peaking out the end she looked around. There wasn't really anyone around. Jumping down, she headed around pausing when she saw Zelia get down. "What's wrong?" She asked not seeing Trex.
Trex shrugged. "I guess if you put it that way." He stated on Zelia's comment about it being ore romantic and that they really didn't cheat him. Returning her hug he waited for her to get into the wagon before he pulled himself up. He frowned when she mentioned Chen. He really hated that guy. His frown turned to puzzlement as he waited for her to continue. Realizing what she was saying he stared at Zelia speechless. They had always talked about buying the horses from the man and each month Trex had been putting some money aside to do so. He wasn't sure how much the man was going to charge - he was an annoying individual after all - so Trex wanted to make sure he had a large amount when he made his offer to cover in case the man upped the price.

Noticing he still hadn't replied, Trex shook his head to clear his surprise. "Zelia...You didn't have to..." He glanced away to get his emotions in gear. "Thanks." Glancing back over he smiled and shook his head. "You... You rascal." He declared. "Fine. Though I won't promise I won't find various ways to make it up to you." He declared. Glancing at the horses, a smile on his face he nudged them forward. "And sure, I'll bring you along to drop them off." It would be a bit awkward. His brothers would undoubtedly tease him about Zelia, saying he was bringing his girlfriend to visit. Not that Trex couldn't handle it. He had dealt with them for a good portion of his life and would be able to take any teasing. He just hoped Zelia would be fine. "Though I do warn you." He said looking back at her. "My brothers are extremely annoying and will undoubtedly come up with various ways to embarrass me and possibly you." He looked toward the road again to navigate the wagon through the gate. It would be a bit awkward but he was glad that he could show Zelia his home. For some reason he wanted her to see where he grew up and see what she thought.
~~~~~
As soon as she got into the back of the wagon, Skye frowned a bit puzzled as she watched Flynn listening through the slate at the front. "What are you doing?" She asked getting a sign from him to be quiet. Sitting down, Skye waited while the wagon started off. Finally, Flynn turned a big silly grin on his face. Coughing, he declared that they were coming down with something and wouldn't be able to go with them to "Trex's". She frowned at him. She wasn't feeling sick. However, realization hit her as he came over and continued. That made sense.
She shook her head. She would have to remember his excuse now if he tried to set her up with someone in the future. However, going on a job would be more beneficial for her then to go to 'Trex's', whatever that was. Maybe his apartment? "Sure." She said shrugging. "We can do a job. Better then just sticking around Magnolia doing nothing." She stated. Or getting pulled in as a third wheel to Trex and Zelia's trips. She wondered how Flynn handled that before she came along. But then again, he did have Lucy. "Do you know where any key might be?" She inquired curious keeping any emotion, especially the fear off her face and out of her posture. If they went after another key, would Tye and the others be there? If so, there was only two of them. Would they be safe?
A bit relieved when Flynn stated he wasn't sure, Skye immediately felt guilt. She should be grateful to help him. The more keys he had the more powerful he would become. Glancing down at her lap she played with a fingernail. "I'm sure we will find out soon where another one is." She told him. She looked up. "We'll find them." She said pushing away her fear. She would do it for Flynn. The stronger he was the stronger the team. The stronger the team, the better chance she would have against Tye and the others. Not to mention they would be better prepared in case she ever betrayed them. Something she hoped would never happen.
Freaky? Was it automatic or standard?
Either way though - Cool. Driving a vehicle is always a handy tool to learn. Especially if you don't live in the city where the buses and public transportation is set up nicely.
And it is a bit scary with a rush when you first start. The jerking. Slamming on the break; putting your foot on and off the pedal.
If you were driving an automatic just wait until you learn standard. They are so much fun but die so easily if you don't know what you are doing. I killed my car many times before I finally got it down. :)
Yup. Just got it up. Let me know what you think.
I didn't have the Doctor and the Dalek talk. I'm thinking maybe having that with Jen there instead would be better. This way she can hear what's going on.
[Universe 1]
If the Doctor had more time, he would have given Van Statten a harsh talking to. The idiot still wanted the Dalek alive not carrying that so many people have died already and that so many more will die if they don’t take care of the Dalek. Dashing up the stairs, the Doctor didn’t wait to see if the others kept up. The quicker they could lock the place down the better. As it was the Dalek had already syphoned most of the power off from the base when it had attempted to search the internet and all incoming signals for messages from anything Dalek.
At the Assistant’s suggestion, they continued past Level 35, with the intent to seal the whole thing off. As they continued up the stairs, reports came back that civilians were trapped. “Jen!” The Doctor called out as she turned and dashed back down. She was going to herself killed. He would have headed after her but Van Statten blocked his way.
“We need to have everything ready to seal off otherwise the creature will escape.” He stated.
Realizing he was right the Doctor turned and glared at him. “Anything happens to her and I’m holding you fully responsible!” He declared dashing back up the stairs.
Reaching Level 51, the Doctor and the others found the command post and started to get the place ready to shut down the vault. “We only have power for one time so we need to make it count.” The Doctor said, knowing they had to get the civilians out but keep the Dalek in. Worse comes to worse, he would have to seal in anyone left to avoid having the Dalek escape.
“What if we try to reason with it?” Van Statten asked looking over at the Doctor. “It is sentient, right?” He inquired.
The Doctor looked over at him. “What’s the closest town?” He asked.
“Salt Lake City.” Van Statten replied a bit confused at the change of subject.
“Population?” The Doctor waited for the man to reply before quickly snapping. “All dead.”
The humans looked at him as if he was crazy. “But it’s just one Dalek.” The assistant said a bit ashen.
“That’s all that is needed.” The Doctor said turning and looking at the computer. “Alright, what’s the access codes?” He demanded.
“Let me.” Van Statten said coming over and sitting down. Quickly entering the information he grinned. “I haven’t had this much fun in ages.”
The Doctor glared over at him disgusted. People were dying and he thought this whole thing was a game. When the walkie-talkie came alive with Jen’s voice, the Doctor snatched it away from the guard and spoke into it as Van Statten got the monitor up. “Hurry.” He ordered. “We have to close the vault so it can’t escape. You need to get to Level 51 before we do. Otherwise, you will be trapped.”
“She’s not going to make it.” Van Statten declared watching as the Dalek closed in. “We have to close the vault.”
“In a minute.” The Doctor snapped. Watching the screen, he willed for Jen to go faster. Holding up the walkie-talkie he spoke. “Jen, you need to hurry. We have to close the bulkhead doors.” He paused. “We can’t wait much longer.”
“I have power to the bulkheads.” Van Statten declared. “But it’s quickly going critical. It is either now or never.”
Watching them come around the bend and head toward the next level the Doctor hesitated. “Doctor!” Van Statten yelled, worry for his own life causing him to start panicking as the Dalek started closing in.
“I’m sorry.” The Doctor whispered hitting the button. The massive bulkheads slowly started to close. For a second it looked as if she was going to make it and then the kid pushed her aside in attempt to make it himself, sealing her behind with the Dalek.
Slamming the walkie-talkie down the Doctor hit the desk, ignoring the pain. When Jen spoke over the walkie-talkie he quickly snatched it up. But before she could finish or he could say anything the Dalek screamed exterminate and cut the feeds. Both the walkie-talkie and the video monitor hissed with static but nothing else.
The Doctor shook his head. “She was my responsibility.” He declared. “I brought her into this mess and I should have taken care of her.” He brushed off the assistant’s attempt at comfort and glared at Van Statten. “You and your precious toy.” He snarled. “I hope you’re happy.” He shook his head and turned to walk off.
“I’m sorry.” Van Statten said looking down. “I just wanted my collection…"
“Your collection?” The Doctor spun around cutting him off. “Let me tell you something Mr. Van Statten. One day humanity travels to the stars. They colonize new worlds and meet new species. In such a short time, humans become a major galactic player forming a great space empire.” He shook his head. “They were part of something.”
“I just wanted to touch the stars.” Van Statten replied.
“More like drag them to earth and bury them beneath piles of dirt and concrete.” The Doctor shot back. He sighed, the weight of his long years pulling heavy on him. He had failed her. Just like he had failed his own people.
Following after the Doctor, Summer tried to keep up. She wasn’t too sure what they were looking for but the Doctor seemed to have an idea. When he let go of her hand and dashed off, Summer wondered if she was going to lose him. For the second time in the past two days she frowned at the long dress. Already she had almost tripped a few times and now she might lose the Doctor…again.
Thankfully, he had paused to let her catch up. Reaching the theatre that they were at she frowned as he looked around. What had the theatre have to do with any of this? Was it tied into the plays and Shakespeare? Speaking of which…she refrained a sigh as he caught up and came up beside them. Thankfully, he didn’t give her much attention though it could have been because the Doctor started asking him questions right away. When Shakespeare mentioned the architecture was in Bedlam she exchanged a look with the Doctor. She wasn’t really sure what that was but apparently the Doctor did. Calling for them to follow he once again took off.
“Quite an interesting friend you have.” Shakespeare stated before Summer could take off. “Is he always like this?”
“You have no idea.” Summer replied looking at him. Afraid she would now not be able to catch up with the Doctor she swallowed her pride and glanced back at Shakespeare. “What is Bedlam?” She inquired.
“It’s a madhouse.” He replied. “The insane go there.” Turning he handed a copy of his script to one of the actors who had come out to see what was going on. “Copy these and memorize it.” He ordered. “Make it sharp. The queen might show and we want to be prepared.” He looked over at Summer only to see she had taken off again.
As soon as Shakespeare had replied, Summer shook her head. Why was she not surprised? Not waiting around for him she took off after the Doctor. However, it didn’t take long before Shakespeare was back up next to her, his long legs unhindered by the confining of a dress. “So, tell me what is it like where you come from?” He inquired.
“Different.” Summer replied not really wanting to talk about herself and not sure how to state it without giving away the fact they were time travelers.
“How so?” Shakespeare asked persistently. “Are all the women as lovely as you?”
That stopped her. She looked over at him. “Aren’t you married?” She inquired remembering something about it from history.
Shakespeare gave a grin. “Alas she is in the country while we are here in town.” He stated. “Besides, I’m just making conversation.” He replied innocently. “Unless of course you want more…” Resisting the urge to slap him Summer turned coldly and continued on. “My apologies,” Shakespeare said coming up after her. “I meant no insult. I’m just stating how much I admire...”
“Doctor.” Summer said cutting the man off and going over to where the Doctor stood waiting. Looping her arm through his she gave him a smile, though part of it was more to get Shakespeare to shut up. Spotting the hospital, her smile quickly faded. “Is this the place?” She inquired, the cries in the night sending shivers down her spine.
Following the Doctor inside she winced as the bailiff or keeper suggested wiping a few people for entertainment. Thankfully, the Doctor turned him down but she wondered again how different everything was for her time. At least here. In the future prisoners were not tortured for amusement despite what some people might think.
Keeping close to the Doctor, she followed the keeper down the hall to find the man they were searching for. She hoped that Shakespeare would back off and for the moment he seemed content to do so. He was not at all anything she expected.
Coming to a cell, the Keeper stepped aside so they could enter. “Call when you need to leave.” He said locking it behind them.
Summer stared down at the poor man huddled in the corner. He was in rags and he looked thin but what really concerned her was the terror she could see in the way he was rolled up and on the bit of the face she could see. Whatever happened to this man, it had scared the dickens out of him. She looked over at the Doctor. “Can we help him?” She asked not wanting to see him remain like this.
It might. We might just pretend we never thought about it or even questioned the validity of it. But then again, that might result in it never happening and ruining everything. And this is why time travel should only be conducted by a Time Lord.
No. I really didn't think to much about it. I just tossed the idea out there. Perhaps alternate reality - Amy never joined up with the Doctor. OR Amy is in his future and they run across her (sometime between trips with Eleven). Might be interesting...
right? Well Summer does know kickboxing. Maybe she can give him a lesson or two
But then again it would be difficult in a dress....
Also - replying to the posts is on my to do list. However, I got to get a few things finished first before I can "have fun" :)
Hopefully I'll have a reply up tonight or tomorrow.
Scowling, Trex brushed his hair down and glared at Flynn. "Just because you are older doesn't mean I can't beat the fire out of you." He declared a bit annoyed. Being the youngest of several brothers he had that happen to him often and he did not always enjoy it. However, he didn't dwell on it to long. Finishing his breakfast he looked up at the sky. "It's going to be a good day today." He noted changing the subject. "We should make good time to the Capitol getting there late this afternoon." He rose. "I'll start breaking camp so we can leave." He nodded and headed toward the pen to take it down.
After everyone was finished with breakfast and everything was packed up they hit the trail again, with Zelia and Trex sitting in the front again and Flynn and Skye in the back. Unlike yesterday, when they played Skye remained fairly quiet only replying when spoken to and then keeping her answers short. After a quick break for lunch they continued on the way to the Capitol reaching there around supper time. Trex pulled the horses to a crawl as they made their way through the going home crowd. The house they had to drop off the package was in the center of town and would take them a bit to get there through this crowd.
"I'm surprised we haven't been hit yet." He noted still keeping his eyes peeled for trouble. With the amount of money spent on this quest he assumed that someone would be desperately trying to get it. Either that or the man that sent it was a completely idiot, wasting money on them when he could have sent it with someone else. Knocking on the slate behind them into the wagon, he waited until it opened before speaking. "We're in the city. Stay sharp." He told Flynn. "Anything can happen." After the slate was closed again, Trex looked over at Zelia. Their conversation throughout the day had stayed casual not getting into the seriousness of the previous night. "I'm still not certain we are out of the water." He told her. "There had to be a reason it cost so much for us to transport it." He spoke quietly so that those passing by could not hear them.
Coming up to the gate Trex and Zelia showed their guild markings and explained their mission. The gateman let them in and Trex brought the wagon up to the front door. "Where here." He said knocking on the slate. Jumping down he turned to see if Zelia wanted help down but she was right behind him. Meeting up with Skye and Flynn they headed over to the front door. Handing the package to Trex, Skye removed the illusion spell so it would be visible again. Stepping back and out of the way she nudged the edge of her boot on the fine stone pavement as she waited for them to finish up the transaction.
A servant let them enter and took them into a large foyer where a large woman sat with a tiny dog in her lap. Matching the description of who to give it to, Trex handed over the package. "Here you go Ma'am." He stated. "Harold sends his greetings." He stated taking a step back. Exchanging a look with Zelia he waited to see if the woman would open it or to be dismissed.
The woman took the package. "Oh he's such a darling." She replied. Shredding open the package she pulled out a box of Cornia chocolates. Trex mouth dropped. True, they were a bit expensive but really? For that price they could have imported it from Bellum or Iceberg. The woman looked at them and Trex quickly brought his expression into a more professional look. "Thank you for delivering this. It's my anniversary in two days and poor Harold couldn't make it due to work." She waved a servant over and brought out some jewels. Holding the money out to Trex she beamed at the four. "You all are so nice. Thank you."
Giving a slight shake of the head, Trex didn't touch the money. "Thank you, Ma'am. However, we have been well paid. Enjoy your gift." He smiled and turned leading the team out of the house. As soon as the door closed he looked at Zelia shaking his head at the stupidity of it all. He scowled at her grin. "That's just...Just..." He went over and got into the wagon. "Let's go." He said disgusted. Some people just didn't make sense. Sure he was grateful for the money but really? Why would they waste that much money for something that insignificant? "As much as I like all this money," He confessed to Zelia. "I feel like we cheated them. Who really pays that much for a box of chocolate that I can get from several stores here in the Capitol?"
Nodding, Skye watched Trex go to sleep before turning back to look at the board. His voice telling her about his sisters caused him to look his way again. His tone when he talked about how that even if they were annoying they loved him held something in it that she couldn't help but envy. Looking back at the board, she couldn't help but wonder what her life would have been like if someone had taken her in like they did Flynn. Brushing the thought aside, she blocked her thoughts not wanting to think about it or the dream. Dressing quietly, she hesitated before picking up the knife laying on the floor. Forcing herself to grab it, she jammed its sheath in her boot and turned back to the game. No, it wouldn't matter what they thought of her. If they really knew what she had done they would hate her as much as Rzyo and Zen did.
By time morning came along, Skye had once again had control of her emotions, her wall once again raised. Cooking breakfast she nodded politely to Zelia as the older girl came over, being the first to wake. "Nothing unusual happened." She replied on the inquiry of how the night had gone. Turning, she poured some water into a cup before giving it to Zelia. She wondered what Flynn would say this morning. Last night he had kindly refrained from saying anything but she wondered on the long trip to the Capitol if he would bring it up.
As the others started to get up and come their way, Skye excused herself to go take care of the horses. She didn't want to face Flynn and see pity in his eyes. Or worse - caring. Going over, she watered the horses and started to brush them down getting them ready for the long trip. Though she hadn't had a lot of experience with horses, she knew what to do and preferred the animals that couldn't say anything to those who might judge or pity her.
Stretching, Trex came over as Skye left. He frowned at her monosyllable reply before remembering she really wasn't a morning person. Not to mention that apparently as Flynn was just coming out, she probably had last shift. Sitting down he sniffed the air smiling at the smell of breakfast. Taking his trencher he filled it up. He looked at Zelia. She looked rested. Apparently the spirit hadn't come to bother her last night. However, before he could say anything Flynn came over. He nodded toward the older man. "What's the big idea of keeping Skye up late with your game and then forcing her to do the second shift?" He demanded, though his eyes twinkled. He knew that Flynn would have split the remaining time equally, not taking advantage of their younger companion. "Apparently it was a good game if you guys played it all day yesterday and into the night." He remarked finishing his trencher and picking up an apple. "Maybe later you can show us how to play and we can enjoy it as well." He stated with a smile.
