History Post:

The Empire of Elduran lasted for tens of thousands of years. It was a rich empire, colonising and settling countless worlds in its time, growing rich off the resources of numerous solar systems that they conquered. Following millennia of expansion, the Elduran stopped spreading their boundaries, and instead simply studied the other lifeforms they shared the galaxy with. Six thousand years ago, they found the Araeneolus, a tribal species of Arachnoids. Feeling an interest in the development of this newly found species, the Elduran used their psionic abilities to advance the evolution of the spider creatures a few thousand years, leading to the creatures more closely resembling humanoids, not knowing such an action would come back to destroy them. About twenty-five hundred years ago, the Elduran studied a strange, pink skinned species in the Sol system. They may have stayed too long, as the creatures and their barbaric customs rubbed off on the scouts hidden among them. When the Elduran returned to their homeworld, they brought strange stories of a powerful religious culture, wealthy empires, crumbling ruins, tribal nomads, and barbaric rituals of sacrifice. Of all those things, the strange stories of the Catholic Church gave the Elduran pause. At first, the Elduran saw it as a good source of control in their Empire, to copy the practices and manipulations of this alien religion, but eventually it toppled their old pantheons, and a new monotheism in a grand Maker took root. The Elduran continually sent scouts to the planet of Earth, bringing back data and information in regards to the beliefs and practices. Eventually they began copying lessons from Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism, along with the original lessons they received from the Church. Disregarding the idea of a Divine being walking in the form of Jesus Christ, the Elduran started a new branch of Catholicism, that simply honoured prophets and their own 'saints', while worshiping a single, 'God' figure. However, the first impression is the greatest, and their Empire quickly began resembling the older Church, and Inquisitions began across the galaxy, as the now heretical polytheist religions were chased out of the Elduran culture. The Elduran eventually stopped visiting the Sol system, when the humanoids developed enough that they could no longer hide their presence, and as such they missed the development of modern religion, leading to a very traditional religious culture. The Empire spent countless years after this religious conversion in isolation, developing some of the most advanced technologies the galaxy had ever seen, but infighting and civil wars fractured the empire into multiple factions. Golden ages, art movements, and long periods of bloodshed went by in the Empire, with none but the Elduran to even notice. And so as the rest of the galaxy either conquered territory or banded with others, the Elduran shrank in size, influence, and reputation. It was not until the Dark Wars of the Spider that the galaxy took any more notice of the Elduran and their empire. The galaxy watched in horror as a young galactic race, the Araeneolus, left their own home system, leaving behind subjugated and wartorn worlds in their wake as they traveled. Young worlds not yet ready to face space crumbled, new galactic kingdoms devoured, and as seen with the Elduran, ancient and powerful Empire were consumed utterly. The Elduran fought viciously until the end, but it was useless. The Araeneolus conquered their worlds, one by one, enslaving and literally devouring the Elduran populace as they went. Finally, in just recent years, the Araeneolus descended on the Elduran homeworld, what had been the seat of a galactic empire for longer than human civilisation had even existed. Like the previous Elduran worlds, it fell quickly. The Empress herself feasted on the Elduran royal family, while leaving only two members alive. The Elduran Empire had fallen. It's military was forced to conjoin with their recent enemies, the people were either left autonomous but under watch, or they were enslaved. Nowadays it is a common sight to see a high ranking Araeneolus accompanied by multiple Elduran slaves. The Araeneolus look at the Elduran with great respect, despite this apparent mistreatment. After all, the Elduran led to the greatness of their empire. They are one of very few species the Araeneolus left alive and left mostly autonomous. Still, that doesn't prevent the Arachnoids from devouring Elduran from time to time, and they often treat their slaves as blood bags and pleasure toys for their sustenance and amusement. The Araeneolus also adopted the religion of the Elduran early on, when the first worlds were being conquered a couple hundred years ago, as like the Elduran, they saw it as an incredibly efficient way to control. Since the fall of the Elduran Empire, the Araeneolus have become the unopposed power in that sector of the galaxy, and surprisingly seem to have slowed down. Some hope this means the creatures have satisfied themselves with what they conquered, but most theorists will say that the most likely outcome for this cease in expansion is in fact the amount of losses sustained during the wars with the Elduran, as well as Araeneolus hope that the Elduaran military and technology will have time to integrate into their own empire. Only time will tell if their imperialism will continue, but it is believed that the only forces that can stop the expansion is the TGGD and the New Earth Federation, powerful powers that intimidate even the great Spider Empire.
Character Skeleton:
First Character-
Name: Obitus Blackmorn
Race: Araeneolus- A race of long lived Arachnoids; From the waist down, it is much like a spider, but from the waist up, the body is more humanoid. Of their more humanoid half, they are grey-skinned, have four arms (Females have the normal two), the 'whites' of their eyes are instead black, with irises that can range through many colours, with a central pupil that is slit, and four much smaller, rounder pupils surrounding the centre slit, they have short, pointed ears, and they each bare three pale scars around the mouth- one that extends from the centre of the bottom lip down, ending at the throat, and two that extend from each mouth corner, ending at the base of the ears. This allows them to open their mouths in both the usual way, and in an extended form, i.e. an advanced version of unhinging a jaw to devour large prey. Theirs is a vampiric species, as well as carnivorous. They can survive off blood and body fluids, but for pleasure and extra energy/strength will often devour a whole being. Their diet comes into play with their symbiotic partners in the galactic community, the Elduran.
Imagery (not exact, obviously, but it is basic enough)-
Age: 403 Earth years
Gender: Male
Occupation: Diplomat/Ambassador (official) Espionage for the Arachan Empire (Small Galactic Empire rapidly gaining ground)
Physical Description: As far as his basic appearance, he obviously has the essential features of his species as described earlier. Details wise, he wears his raven black hair at shoulder length, his irises are an electric blue colour, and he has a scar that cuts across his chest. He is rather large for a male of his species, reaching over 8 feet tall and well muscled. If one were to ignore his spider half, he cuts a supremely handsome figure. He has pronounced, high cheekbones, a strong, angular jaw, and an altogether attractive countenance by human standards, despite the grey skin tone, and spider- like lower half. His lower half is a mix of grey and black, with small, natural highlights of gold lining the carapace.
History: Obitus Blackmorn was merely one of thousands of children born to the brood of the great Spider Empress, Victoria of House Goldfang. His father had been a noble's son, of House Blackmorn, gifted to the Empress for mating in her brood. However, unlike most of his fellow male siblings who were quickly subjugated for their lesser size in the matriarchal society, Obitus was a rather large male. While most males stand around 6 feet in height at most, he towered over his brothers, coming close to the 9 foot average of the females. This brought him the notice of the Empress, who previously disregarded her male children, often tossing them to to high ranking nobility for mating, the gladiatorial pits, or into the vast army of the Empire. Within three decades of his birth, he won much of her favour by acting as a commander of her fleets, a 'diplomat' to soon to be subjugated galactic powers, and a champion fighter in arenas and coliseums. The Empress in turn named him the High Ambassador of the Empire, the Grand Admiral of the Imperial Fleet, and a member of the Council of the Inquisition. Since this time, he as acted as her voice to all those outside the Empire, and often acts as her voice within, as she makes less and less public appearances, finally reaching the age of Weakening, the time when an Araeneolus has reached such an age that breeding meets difficulty, strength wanes, and energy grows short, usually starting at about 2000 Earth years in age. It is highly probable that he will be named Regent in her weakened state, and may even become the first male ruler in the Empire.
Obitus came to the world of Profectum in order to act as a scout and spy for the Empire, which had grown curious over the uproar in this particular sector of the galaxy in recent years. It is his duty to observe and report to the Empress on the matters of this world, although to what means can only be guessed at.
Implants and Modifications: None
Skills/Abilities: Obitus is a tactician, a manipulator, an adept fighter, and has great levels of charisma he tends to use to his advantage.
Factional Relation(s): Obitus has recently been increasing his reputation with the New Earth Federation as an ambassador, and relations seem to be looking good for those involved, but of course both parties have daggers at the ready. Obitus has also been making quite a few deals and having negotiations with the mega corporations of Profectum. The government of Profectum regards Obitus and his Empire with intense suspicion, and often outright dislike. As for the TGGD, both parties appear to be neutral to one another, whether that is out of respect or just pure apathy is unknown.

Second Character-
Name: Demetrius (Demetri) Arminium
Race: Elduran- A race of technologically advanced humanoids, known for their intense religious devotion, cultural richness, powerful military and science sectors, their beauty, and their wealth leftover from their empire before it was absorbed by the Great Empire of the Spider. The species very much resembles the high elves of ancient Earth mythology, and it is theorised they may have visited Earth at some point in their history or another.
Age: 24 Earth years (A mere child in the eyes of the majority of the Elduran)
Gender: Male
Occupation: Servant, Courier, and Scribe for the Diplomat, Obitus
Physical Description: Demetri is of average height for his kind, standing at about 5' 6", and is lean muscled. His light brown hair is a rather disorganised mess and hangs in his eyes. Like most of his kind, his ears are pointed, and his face is rather angular. The irises of his eyes are gold in shade, and glow with a just barely perceptible luminescence. His clothing is rather simple, as befits one of his position. He also wears a gold half choker that rests on the back of his neck, the sign of belonging to an Araeneolus. Like most of his kind, he is what humans would think of as fairly attractive.

History: Demetri was born as the son of one of his species' Grand Clerics, a religious leader, on the homeworld of the Elduran Empire. This planet was one of the last to fall in the Dark Spider Wars, and as such, he had time to grow for a few years before his people fell. His childhood, although very short lived, was rather average, spent learning in the academies of the Empire and living the typical life of the Elduran young. From an early age, he showed a gift for the psionic, a common enough trait among the Elduran, but not commonly as strong as his. As such, he spent much of his 5 year childhood in prestigious academies for the gifted. Sending children to schooling days after their born is the accepted practice of the Elduran. When his homeworld fell to the Araeneolus' Empire, his family was slaughtered, along with much of the religious leadership of the Empire. His life was spared by his family's killer, the Admiral Obitus, who saw potential in the young Elduran. He took the boy as a slave, and Demetri has served ever since. He joined his master in coming to the world of Profectum.
Implants and Modifications: A bracer-like device around his arm, resembling gold, that is attached to his nerve endings. It acts as an amplifier of his psionic ability.
Skills/Abilities: Quick witted, psionic abilities, agile, and dexterous.
