Shay focused on Sun's voice as she stared at her brother she was "seeing" across the room. While everything horrific she had endured before was vanishing, melting in to the realty it really was, Shane was the last standing hallucination before her. She still could not see anyone real in the room as her eyes remained closed. She was understanding now through Sun's telepathy that what she was seeing wasn't real. This meant that seeing her brother was not real either. A heavy tear slid out of the corner of her eye and fell down her dirty cheek. It was as if she was losing Shane all over again. She never spoke of him to anyone except for Mother and Marcus when she arrived. She had been so close to her brother that speaking about him to anyone was still painful and was a memory she didn't feel like digging up or sharing with anyone else. She told Mother and Marcus in confidence, knowing they would keep her secret. Ravenia took her in and Marcus helped her heal at the gates during her first few weeks. Marcus was kind enough to let her vent, cry hard for several days, grieve, and finally heal. After that she promised herself she would be strong thereafter. Strong for her brother and for herself. Crying was a sign of weakness and she was not weak. She was determined to be as strong as any Blessed One. When she told Ravenia and Marcus of Shane a weight was lifted off of her chest and she had no need to speak of him to anyone else again. His memory was sacred and her own.

As Sun reassured Shaylly that she was hallucinating and explained the situation, Shay focused on his clear words, taking in what he was saying and putting everything together. The pain was still riveting through her body but she was able to focus when she heard Sun speak. At Sun's final words Shay saw Shane wave his arm softly back and forth, a goodbye for her as he slowly vanished from her sight, dissipating like her parents and the other hallucinations. Shay felt her throat choke. She was not one for tears and weeping, but she felt emotions pull at her that she had not felt in so long. Sun was all she could ask for in this moment. He was her adoptive little brother. He was not a replacement for Shane, but rather their relationship just came naturally and filled the hole in Shay's heart when she had first arrive to Paradise Land. She was always there for him, to protect him, to teach him anything she could. Despite playing the big sister role, he did so much for her that she secretly leaned on him more than he would know. His presence now made her feel secure, Sun her brother, taking care of her.

When Sun's voice grew silent she realized the connection between them was gone. Was that moment even real? She could feel the pain riveting through her body and as she lost Sun's voice her focus fell back on the pain torturing through her veins, her bones, her skin. Her body shook. She focused on what Sun said. Wake up! she yelled to herself. Wake up damn it, this isn't real. Sun is there for you! Get your eyes open and your mind focused! Sun's close touch relaxed her pounding heart and heavy breathing slightly, a physical effect she was not aware of but helped her.

Shay opened her eyes, pupils dilated and wide. She gasp loudly, inhaling deeply. She was laying on her side, knees tucked up to her chest still. Her eyes searched the room in front of her and quickly fell upon Sun. The pain seemed to be slowing. It wasn't shaking her body as harshly. She felt like she had been drugged, her body heavy, eyes fighting to stay open. She felt like she had been stuck in a nightmare, unable to get herself free until now. "Oh Sun" she cried out, reaching her arm to pull him close to her. She was still dust ridden and damp with sweat from her ordeal, needing a nice hot shower. Trusting Sun that what she was feeling would be over soon she would worry about that later. "H-how much longer?" she asked with a short breath. She wanted to know how much more of the pain she would have to endure. She couldn't talk much as the pain was still coursing through her body. Shay could see Sun was breathing heavier than normal. His telepathy must have been hard on him and she was not sure how much effort it took for him to maintain that form of communication. She would remind herself when she was in a better state to thank him many times over.

:.Born As.:

:.A Glorious Gift.:
Kaiden is a Metahuman with the power to communicate with animals. Kaiden also has dark red eyes that allow him to see perfectly well when darkness falls. Each species is different when it comes to communication, and needs a different approach, causing Kaiden to be constantly working on developing his animal languages. It is more of how he can communicate rather than speaking their language. Each animal approaches their communication differently and until Kaiden deciphers their approach he cannot communicate. It is not very difficult but it does take some time, thought, and practice. Kaiden's immense respect for animals allows them to be open to his reach for communication. His goal is to be able to communicate with any animal. He finds their view on life to be more simple and in many ways more peaceful. Kaiden had learned to communicate well with birds when he was young, leading to his close relationship with his falcon friend he named Akasha, which means open air, space. Kaiden saved Akasha from it's abandoned nest and nursed her to health, taking on the 'mother' role as he watched Akasha grow. Akasha is now 5 years old and has full trust and love for Kaiden, their bond unbreakable.

Metahuman - part of Cypher's gathering

:.People Say.:
Kaiden is a kind and peaceful person. Many people are full of anger or hatred for the way their lives have to be lived, but Kaiden is an optimistic and is always the one to help people focus on the positive in their lives and environment. Some find his approach to life obnoxious and arrogant while others find it relaxing and hopeful. Kaiden loves all of the animals, including the small insects that roam the ground. He is patient with them and is able to speak with just about every animal their camp has seen. Although he is quiet and usually keeps to himself, he is easy to speak to and is able to get along with many people. He is quick to give someone a smile and offer a helping hand.

:.The Past Was.:
Kaiden had grew up alone with his mother. They were traveling with a small group across the states from the west, looking for a safer place to call him. The group started out with 25 people. As they traveled across the land, the group slowly began to dwindle due to sickness, heat stroke, and some times the Dead. Kaiden's mother was a strong woman, both in her thick body and her quick mind. She protected them through their travels, putting Kaiden's safety above anyone else, including her own. Kaiden helped in his own way for them to survive. His mother knew of his power but they kept it their own little secret. Kaiden would find food for them. His communication allowed him to lure trust from small animals. He knew they needed to eat to survive and when these necessary moments came he killed with swiftness and dignity for their sacrifice. Kaiden is a vegetarian and only eats animal meat when he absolutely has to. With Akasha's help he eats lots of found berries, nuts, seeds, grass and even insects when needed; he particularly enjoys earth worms. Kaiden and his mother were traveling with two of their friends that survived their first group. It seemed they would be left to wander for the rest of their lives, until they came upon Cypher. Cypher offered to take them in, laying down the strict rules they must abide by. One rule was that they must disclose whether they were human or metahuman. So then it was at that moment that Kaiden's secret was finally revealed. They had to provide what service they would offer when staying with Cypher. His mother, Adie, was a wonderful cook and very resourceful. Their friends, who were brothers, were skilled in archery and knife throwing. Kaiden informed Cypher of his special power, revealing his metahuman status. Cypher accepted them all. They have been living in Cyphers camp since, enjoying a life with a large group that would protect them, as they would for them; safety in numbers and a place to call home. There were strict rules, but when followed, life was good, or at least much better than their nomadic life before.

:.What You See.:

:.Behind The Scenes.:
Kaiden can communicate through both telepathy and audible sounds.

Good question, Metronome.I was actually including this in with the backstories of the Paradise Lands and the breakdown of the surrounding area.I wanna say that the inside of Paradise Land's is covered in vegetation. There's green and foliage growing all around. This was poorly planned, I do apologize to everybody but when I first pictured Paradise Lands, I called it New Edens. It was waaaay different than everybody has kind of made it out to be.When I first thought about it, I wanted PL/NE to be in the middle of the desert, the Red Waste stretching out all about it. The first Mother (Mother of Water) had a knack of pulling water out of the air, she also could hear natural bodies of water calling to her. She found a natural underground oasis, untouched by the radiation of the wars. It was there that Paradise Lands first start. From the ground up they created a civilization. Families from all over flocked to the Lands, seeking peace and shelter. A well renowned family in the Lands built the walls up, standing over fifty feet high; they created them out of marble with veins of steel and ore running all through out. They were the ones who raised the gates of heavy steel, they stood almost twenty feet high. This family were known as the Iron-Root's. They were the keepers of the Gates. The winged protectors manned the walls, fierce some warriors who dove into battle to deter enemies and threats to their walls. They were skilled with bows and were known for descending upon the enemies, flying them high above and dropping them to their deaths. Over the years, their ferocity in battle slowly thinned out their clan, leaving only a few left. They were known as the Light-Feathers.A family of fierce fire controllers manned the boilers, providing warmth and light to the Paradise Lands. This family was the Blackburns. The people have built their homes up into the walls, stacking house on top of each other, accessible by high stairs that go nearly to the tops of the walls. Growing down in the middle and all about the Lands is vegetation and crops. An irrigation system of water runs through parts of Paradise Lands. There were bathing areas created underground, separated obviously, to be natural springs, the dirty water filtered out to become part of what feeds the crops. (<Hey, there's gotta be a little grime in this beautiful society)

Great description!

Oh good well at least I didn't make a rookie mistake. I used Blox as a character when I was first rping at age 13. Then when I was interested in graphic design I developed a persona of myself as Blox. Many of my old rp friends knew me as Blox. It's a nostalgic name for me :) It's a lot of fun to be rping again. I feel like a kid again lol
