The second man went to the ground as his feet were surprisingly swept away from under him. They were swearing, both of them. Hensen managed to get a few good punches in, but then the men's eyes recovered as well and the first attacker was actually getting a grip on Hensen, still not a fully grown man. The pirate was effectivrly starting to fight him off.

"You little cunt!" Your attacker had regained siggt as well and you had now pretty much lost your advantage of the first attack. You'd have to make the difference now or you'd be in trouble.

Meanwhile on the background the console continued. Beep. Beep. Beep.

Warp is the wrong term. That applies to faster than light travel done by a space ship. You mean teleportation (short distance).

You can write Hensen's part as Pria would only see him dive onto the one before she attacks the other. She'd be too occupied to pay attention to exactly what he does.

I take it you intend to duck. He can hit you lightly or miss younalltogether, but he will fire off a few shots, one of them making the computer go beep with warning over something being hit. This vould be something critical if you wish, or something more minor, so they're still capable of getting home onbtheir own. With the attackers blinded blinded, Hensen will dive atop the one who toppled over because he's closest to him.

I imagine for beaming the two back to their own shuttle -or better yet, the shuttle with no beaming/transporter/teleportation capabilities (warping in my universe applies to space bending, which they use for faster than light travel), they would need to get the two to a platform for that. They could also keep them in the bavk, where a force field can be erected, but if the force field fails they'll be in trouble.

The other assailant did try to shoot you as the first man toppled backwards, but the mirror sucked up the blast. "What the..." The second man aimed at you, but you could see Hensen pull something from his bag.

He held a small ball, which he had sgown before was a prop he'd made tp go with one of his superhero costumes. Except this wasn't just a prop, it actually worked. He'd shown you on the trip towards the convention what it was capable of, which was giving off a blindingly bright light for two seconds, it had rendered you nearly blind for a short time, after which he had apologised over and over again, hanging over you with his foul breath.

If you were paying attention to him, you would see him get the device and activate it, turning away and closing his eyes as he did so. You'd better close your eyes as well. Oh and duck away as the second assailant made to shoot you again.

Modern day magic world

I'm looking for someone to put his/her character in my modern fantasy world. In this world witches exist, though they are in hiding, acting like normal people, trying to live a normal life. Demons with various powers exist in the underworld, often trying to get more powerful by stealing powers from witches living above ground. And of course between witches everything is not always happy either.

Your character would have one active and/or 1 passive power. They would be able to do spells or brew potions, but both of those take some preparation/organisation. So it's not like in teenage shows where they screw up their face, lift their hand and shout in an unfamiliar language and the demon is left gasping for air, you'll have to make do with the one or two powers you chose until you had time to prepare for more.

I was thinking they could either live in the city where we place the story and only just find out they're a witch or they could know already and move there from another city. That way we can map out the go's and no-go's for our magic world together as we get familiar with each other. Who your character is, where they're from, what kind of power they have, what their family is like or why they came to/live in the city is yours to decide.

Hensen clutched his bag in fear, his knuckles going white as two men appeared on tge ship, each holding a weapon. They aimed their weapons at the two of you. One of them quickly checked the ship to see if there were more people here. When they were satisfied one of them laughed. "Just two kids?" He said. "What are two kids doing in a luxurious shuttle like this? Well, no matter. You!" He pointed at you "Sit over there." He pointed necxt to Hensen. He wanted to get you away from the controls.

Hensen gave you a look that begged you to just do as they asked.

Sounds pretty cool. It's limited enough. The prayer needs time (maybe she needs to pray to 'reload' the mirror every time she wants to use it?). Also, she needs to hold the mirror for the reflection magic so if she looses it she can't use it. How about she can use the barrier magic at all times, but the barrier only holds for a short while? The stronger she makes the barrier, the more impact it can take but also the faster it wears off?

I take it she can either use the barrier or the reflection magic but not at the same time? I'm alright with her being pretty fast. She's not very tall and she's a woman so she will be underestimated easily, giving her an initial advantage in a fight. How does that sound?

As for the ship, right now I'm basing its behaviour on what self-driving cars would act like. They stop when they get too close to ther vehicles to prevent collision, which is why the ship stopped. There ahould always be a manual override. This particular shuttle has no weapons of itself. Do you think ships should have a shield of some sort?

Also, I was thinking that transporter technology is possible but only short distance, like a kilometer max (or a mile if you will). That way people and stuff can be beamed from ship to ship, but you can't beam down from the athmosphere to a planet. lso, woth the technology being pretty advanced even then it could be limeted available. The shuttle they're on is quite luxurious so I would guess they would have the tech. The ship behind them as well, but the shuttle in front of them doesn't.
