Personality: Shiro is disciplined and focused in almost all things she does, evidence of her military like upbringing from her elder brother. She approaches most problems with logic and conviction, normal looking for a way to diffuse issues before they becomes anything more than a minor dispute. That is not to say she will back down from a fight or cast aside her ideals all that easily. If anything, when shes backed into a corner, she becomes the most fierce defender you could ever meet. She simply prefers to avoid a conflict when possible. Though in some ways it is like a young girl trying her hardest to pretend to be a solider. Don't take that the wrong way mind you, Shiro's focus an dedication to solider like discipline are indeed very serious, but she is still only a teen age girl and every now and then you'll catch that adolescent insecurity, youthful uncertainty, teenage fire, and child like wonder beneath the composed military surface.

Brief Backstory: Shiro is the youngest child of a mild level politician. While much of her early childhood was fairly normaly of the child of anyone in any kind of position of power, a great deal changed after the first world wide Nephilin invasion. The first attack had taken the life of her mother and badly wounded her elder brother who was part of Japans Self Defense Force. The death of their mother traumatized and distance his father from his family badly. It pushed him to become a very outspoken supporter of increased military, rebuilding, and defense spending, especial in areas of anti-nephilin counter measures. While she now recognizes that his almost madden political agenda probable helped many people get government funding to rebuild their damaged homes and cities as well as even saved lives with gather aid and support, she still had trouble accepting that her father all but abandons his living family on an emotional level.

She spent a good deal of her child hood living with her elder brother. He became her primary care taker, though while he was still recovering from his wounds her father took care of all of their expenses. Her brother had been honorably dismissed from the SDF for being to badly injured to continue serving became a mechanic. It was a logical leap as he had been an mechanical engineer for the SDF before the attack crippled him beyond the point of service. From there they were able to mostly support themselves, though father still put forth a fair amount to help them along. Seemed to her money was the only way he knew how to express himself anymore.

As she grew she became more and more interested in her brothers work, both past and present. She spent a good deal of time after school in his work shop rather than out with friends, learning about machines and engineering work and listening to stories about his time as part of the SDF. She had made the decision she was going to fallow in her brothers foot steps and also become of defender of her home.

Abilities: Thanks to spending a lot of time with her older brother she has become a budding mechanic in her own right, She enjoys working with her hands and dealing with engineering problems. She is also a devote student of Judo. She had wanted to take a more direct martial art like karate, but her brother recommended she do something that better taught her how to deal with larger foes. Shiro isn't that big of a girl after all.

Powers: Shiro can create fields of solid force, that appear as shimmering, rose-pink energy. While it is suspected she could possible develop this power into the ability to create constructs of the force, her control of the size and shape of her force fields is very limited at the moment. Given that, her power primarily defensive nature. She can most easily make a disk, dome, or sphere of defensive energy. They are at their strongest and most stably around or near her person. She can also encase her fists or feet in the energy if she is forced into unarmed up-close combat for added defensive and offensive capabilities, or make smaller disks of the energy about her hand or fore-arm for shield bashes or cutting thrusts with the edge. Shiro's Magigear, is called 'Wicked Rose' and allows her a great deal of speed and mobility as her power acts as her primary defense. Allowing her to quickly get between deadly attack and a vulnerable ally to provide defense and support.

Weapon(s): Shiro's Wicked Rose deploys what she calls her 'Flyers'. 5 floating offensive satellite devices vaguely shaped like humming birds. They are directed with her hand and respond to vocal commands. They are as quick and nimble in the air as she can be, and are meant to allow her a measure of offensive abilities while she is holding a larger stationary shield. Given their size and how swift they are their own primary defense is speed, but if one gets destroyed she has 5 spares with her. This brings up a total of 10 flyers capable of being used in a single engagement, though she can only manage to deploy 5 effectively. Each can fire a small energy blast with only minor power but decent rate. Individually the Flyers aren't much of a threat but all together they are a great distraction, deterrent, even a dangerous to less armored foes and a good for finding weak points in a foes defenses quickly given their multiple angles of attack.

Shiro's more deadly offensive option is Crossbow like gun she can deploy that fires an arrow shaped bolt of magic with intense piercing power. It only has a mild rate of fire and her Flyers need to be deactivated so all the power can be focused into the arrows.

Ah, okay then, could a characters 'power' then be the use of and manipulation of Magical force fields? (That is sort of where I am leaning character concept wise at the moment.)

Now I just need to decided on a power/theme...Do you have any examples of what you'd expect or like to see? I'm a little fuzzy on the specifics of the Magitech you are going for here and don't want to put effort in the wrong direction so to speak.

This game would be much more like a free form DnD game, I would give scenarios, directions, and foes, we would deal with the challenges in more ways than combat, though a good deal of it would be a combination of battle and stealth.

Something quite different. (Worthy of tilted heads and begrudging interest,)

Personality Ellia is often described as a even keel, sensible mage by her piers. When one is in need to unbiased advice or a 'reasonable' opinion Ellia is a good friend to turn to. It is best to say that Ellia has two faces. Her friendly face and her business face. Friendly Ellia is straightforward girl who loves music and live performances. She has a dabbled in music herself, but it is the only thing she is shy about. Other wise Ellia is a rather open girl who enjoys being with other friendly faces and giving aid and advice when she can.

Then there is business Ellia. Very formal and stern. Far less likely to budge or compromise, when in a business situation Ellia prefers to be playing the beat everyone is matching to rather than having to be the one following all the rules. To this end Ellia is very money minded. Always looking for a way to earn a buck or save a buck. When it comes to this can be as ruthless in fiances as she can be in battle.

That being said Ellia has a very strict standard of 'Fair'. She does not do underhanded work or tricks for even money. If something doesn't seem 'fair' to Ellia she will not participate in it. That being said; 'Fair' does go both ways sometimes. While something may be 'Just' if Ellia feels it is 'Unfair' there is a strong chance she will oppose it. This applies both to 'Normal' Ellia and 'Business' Ellia. It likely explains her affinity for the magic she uses, as she describes it as 'A fair way to fight; turning what is given back to the giver'.

History: Ellia Had a fairly normal life growing up, all things considered. Mother was a merchant, always traveling and doing business around the world, Father was the accountant for the company back at their headquarters in a decently large Fioro port city. She grow up being raised mostly by her father, who stayed at home tending the books and finances of the company while her mother went around doing the more active jobs of running the trade enterprise. She, like her father had a gift for numbers and calculation, and spent a great deal of time being something of an assistant to him. She had a bit of magic in her as well though it was not very practiced as her parents were more interested in developing her business and intellectual talents. While she didn't have to much of a problem with that, given she did enjoy working with numbers or reading on cultures and such, she didn't want to simple let her magic gift wither. She didn't know really what exactly to do with her magic really, but it was enough for the young girl to want to practice and improve if just a little bit.

To that end she ended up bringing some local mage guild children and they swiftly became her closest friends. She spend much of her free time with them at their parents guild hall, practicing magic with them, enjoying their company and hearing the fantastical stories from the adult mages of the guild. It was something of a fantastical break from her more mundane real world studies. Over the years the members of that guild became a second family to her, their children became more like brothers and sisters than just good friends.

When she was just 14 she was going to join to see them after a long session of studies one night. As the Guild Hall came into view she saw several hooded figures rushing away from the building and they quickly disappeared into the shadows of early night. She noted something odd, the light of early night stars blinking in and out of sight above the guild. It wasn't till she got closer and could distinguish the smoke from the dark night sky did she realize the inside of the guild was on fire. She rushed in to find a blazing inferno consuming the interior of the guild. She found that inside many of the guild members lay already dead or wounded by violent injuries sustained in some kind of fight. She could even see the figures of her friends in the smoke and fire. The blaze was to intense for her to venture deep into the guild she rushed our to summon help to deal with the fire and hopefully save lives.

Her actions were only swift enough for the locals to keep the neighboring buildings from catching as well and starting a fire that could have damaged more of the city. The guild was reduced to ashes one and all.

She learned that the guild had gotten in a habit of getting in the way of the operations of a supposed Darkguild that operated in the area. They suspected that the Dark Guild in question got tired of the interfering nature and took action. Hunter Guild reps came soon after, question her as the only witness to the crime. Wither her testimony of what she saw, they could easily conclude that this wasn't an unfortunate accident and began to take proper action to deal with the dark guild. They promised her revenge and peace for the fallen guild members, and they delivered in spades.

The terrible loss of all those good people and close friends, as well as the success of the Hunter Guild in bringing justice to the villains behind it inspired her to devote more time to her magic studies with the goal of becoming a hunter herself. Facts and figures were pleasant and all, and she certainly didn't need to do that full time. She had found what she wanted to use her magic for. To repay the violence of the wicked back on them.

Magic: Master Impact: A magic all about the manipulation of kinetic forces. Straight forward to learn, but very hard to master. While true masters of the magic can do fantastic feats such as absorb and control great deals of force with their own bodies while taking no damage Ellia is far from that. Her, like most users of the magic, work through a focus. She uses a staff as a medium to interact with the kinetic forces she encounters. At her current level of skill she is much more of a supporting and defensive mage than a proper fighter. You may wonder what exactly her magic can interact with and effect. It's a simple answer really, Anything with Mass and density. Things with low mass or low density are difficult to effect ( like water for example ) things with none or next to no density can't be effected (Fireballs for example ). Her magic is best employed at dealing with the physical threats she may encounter.
Signature Spells: You start with five spells.

Ricochet Radar: By tapping her staff against the ground she can send ripples of magically charged kinetic force about her in all directions much like a form of echolocation, It allows her to get a sense an area and even allows her to map out a zone in about a 1/4th of a squar mile area around her.

Disperse: Ellia Focuses a field of anti-kentetic energy about her, that will absorbe some of the kentic energy of any object that passes through it, as if the object was passing through a nearly solid patch of air. Punches will with no force, arrows go from lethal to dangerous. Ect. She can't yet extend the field more than 3 feet from her staff in all directions of it, but she can set it up and leave her staff holding the unseen field as a trap or surprise defense.

Absorb: By taking a blow on her staff, she can absorb its energy, robbing strikes of some of their threat but also storing the power for other uses.

Redirect: A quick counter spell that only works on one object at a time. She turns the kinetic force of a blow or projectile back on itself so it flies back to where it came.

Re-enforce: By using stored power she has taken from using the Absorb spell she can give objects or people an aura of kinetic armor to defend them.

Skills: Ellia is good with numbers and calculations, She actually does some part time accounting jobs when she's not doing guild jobs.

Inventory: her mystically reinforced staff, A tough old thing tall as she is and made of polished oak.
