Hail!

I want to check if the interest level is there before I go full steam ahead writing the backend, character sheet and opening scenario.

Disclaimer: I'm a mediocre storyteller and roleplayer when at my finest. But what I do have is a very particular set of skills. Skills for creating battle systems and running them. This is my first post on this forum! The forum I would normally attempt to make this happen on I think would not be hospitable to this idea.

I submit this RPG I created and ran for some months as my credentials: A FNCFFXIIIRPG and it's ad.

This RPG is based around Destiny, the video game by Bungie. The game is truly rich in lore though you must do a lot of digging to find it. You play as a Guardian, one of a special few chosen by and bonded with your own Ghost to fight back The Darkness that is encroaching on one of the last bastions of Humanity, the City, and to carry out the dying will of The Traveler. The setting is a Halo-esque post apocalyptic future of Earth and it's solar system. Guardians filled with the Light, a sort of magic bestowed by the Traveler and is found in all living things otherwise, perform missions and collect bounties on behalf of the Tower and participate in the Crucible to hone their skills with other Guardians. There are three primary types of Guardians, each with their own history. They are the Titans, the Hunters, and the Warlocks. As well you can be of three races; Human, Awoken, and Exo. There are many factions in the Tower you can associate yourself with. You manage your way in combat through a combination of Primary Weapons (Auto Rifles, Pulse Rifles, Scout Rifles, and Hand Cannons), Special Weapons (Shotguns, Fusion Rifles and Sniper Rifles), and Heavy Weapons (Rocket Launchers and Machine Guns), and various Grenade, Melee, and Super abilities fueled by your Class options.

I loved the idea of Destiny very much and the systems it has lay a great foundation to make a PBP RPG. In general I try to run statistical mechanics as closely inspired by the original game as possible. Certain aspects about the original game piss me off, like how Warlocks, who should be the frailest armored class, are in practice the HIGHEST armored class with their perk and gear selections.

While I am emphasizing the G in RPG here on my end, I will work with everyone to make their stories their own, including personalized EXOTICS as a long term goal. I hope I can learn a lot from you all in the fields of mutual story telling. Though note I AM stubborn about my mechanics, a well founded analysis of imbalances and impracticability has certainly had me rewrite mechanics before.

Quests and Bounties distributed by your personal Ghost and the various personalities at the Tower (or wherever else the game takes us) will be the main form of direction from me. I do encourage you to work with me to make your story your own and that of your fireteam's.

Prepare a backup character! If your character dies, players may need to go on rescue missions to secure a Guardian's Light from the forces of the Darkness and return your once deceased character to active duty!

Amateur one liner or master linguist? All are accepted! I am here to make epic scenarios and boss battles!, not judge your writing talent.

Random tidbits of information:
You choose your name, race, class and starting subclass. Access to your alternate subclass will be tied to a quest later on.
Earning XP will unlock your perks, but I'm dropping base level altogether. Light will be relevant but I'm still brainstorming on it.
Primary/Special/Heavy gun loadout style in effect. Still brainstorming on ammo.
Perks and their unlock order will mirror the game as much as possible.
On Defense (from equipped armor): Instead of being a vaguely obscure stat that is itself meaningless to the player once you start collecting Light, it will be renamed Armor and will effectively be your HP.
Agility/Recovery/Toughness are still in brainstorming a bit. Either they will be direct chance to evade, HP(Armor) recovery per turn, and damage reduction or they will be used as saving throws.
Similar situation for Intellect/Discipline/Strength. Possibly to be used as checks and how many times you may use the associated abilities per mission. Still brainstorming on this.
