Like many, many stories before it, this tale is set in a magical, unreachable land that resembles Medieval Europe. Of course, like many magical lands before it, this one is plagued by war and evil. More specifically, this land, known only as the Kingdom of Vorvelade, is being attacked by the cruel Dark General Nox and his army of ferocious demon beasts that rip villages asunder with their fearsome claws and razor-sharp teeth. Like many, many stories before it, this land must be saved by a group of heroes that were born for this specific purpose. These heroes, you, will harness the ancient powers of light and seal away the Dark General Nox forever. Or maybe you betray your "friends" and join forces with Nox, who takes over Vorvelade and molds it into a Kingdom for the Devil himself. Only you can decide your destiny, and, whatever that may be, it is a great destiny...
OOC and Game StuffAs with most role playing games, you will start at level 0 with 5 points to distribute as you wish, however, you must be aware that you could get ultimately screwed if you don't distribute your points wisely.
Your stats at the beginning (before you use your points) are
Strength: 5
Defense: 5
Speed: 5
Magic: 5
Free: 0
And the cap for level 0 is eight for every stat except Free, which has a cap of one.
The abilities you can start off with are
Sturdy Punch
Leathery Skin
50/50 Dodge
Basic [elemental attack]
and Raw Spirit
You can only choose three unless you have a 1 in your Free stat, in which case you're stuck with two choices and Raw Spirit. If you don't have any Free, you cannot choose Free Spirit.Sturdy Punch raises your Strength for one turn in battle and can only be used three times a day.
Leathery Skin raises your Defense for the whole battle and can only be used once a day.
50/50 Dodge isn't just a fifty percent chance to dodge your opponents attack, it's more than that depending on what you roll. Of course, it can only be used twice a day.
Basic [elemental attack] is where the fun starts. It's a magician only move and it also sets your element. Say you wanted to be a fire mage; you would set this as Basic Fire or Basic Flame.
While most attacks and abilities can be easily resisted by a good defense roll, Raw Spirit can not be resisted by
anything, and it raises you Strength and Speed stat greatly when in use, while cutting 75% off of your defense. This means you hit like a train, but if someone so much as pokes you aggressively, you take massive damage. Good thing that speed stat is raised, eh? Only problem is, you're stuck with hand-to-hand combat if you pick this skill.
Character Sheet + Classes
OK, these are pretty simple, but they get better. Mage, Warrior, Rogue, Shield Brother, and Brawler. Each turns into a different class later on in the game, depending on how you play.
