He could have been there for a couple of years. Alternatives I was thinking of was from another dimension of a medieval times influenced with modern weapons or a knight enthusiast. Besides, why would the benevolent beings go through the trouble of giving random teenagers magical powers in the first place? In most anime, virtues they have. There is the rare occasion that a knight is born to act like a paladin and sticks to his morals. So in the event they couldn't find a last member to the team that was virtuous enough to use said powers, they searched all living beings that ever lived up until that point and chose the best match.

Also, it just dawned on me that we have interacted before on another forum.

Medieval ages knight being sent to the future by these benevolent beings to work with the rest of the cast. It would work with the titles and such, plus he could train the others how to use the weapons they have.
