The Academy of the Arts - Western Section
Moira groaned to herself and rolled her eyes as the others began to argue over the line. A little hypocritial of her, sure. But hell, it was more interesting than just standing around waiting for paint to dry, as it were.

Syed similarly didn't say a word, although a small frown began to edge onto his face. Between Dylan acting strangely and Tobias being... well... insufferable, he had just about had it. He was just about to tell Angel to press the button so he could tell them all to calm down and get a grip when-

Screams, shouts and the line suddenly going completely dead.

Moira blinked a couple of times. What the hell had happened?! Her eyes widened as she looked from Angel to Syed and back again. Sure, they sounded more decisive than fearful. But that was the kind of girl Estelle was.

"Soooo... they found the thief. Told you guys statues were too cliche."

Moira sucked through her teeth, although she now kept her hand firmly on the hilt of her sword. "Well if they found the bugger we gotta go support, ain't we?" While she trusted Estelle and Aria, she knew nothing about Dalia other than how she seemed a bit... wussy. She said nothing more, turning and beginning to run in a random direction. Whichever way she needed to go, she didn't know.

"...Moira, wait! What if it's a trap?"

Moira turned midstride to her partner, a look of clear irritation on her face. "You what?"

"Doesn't this seem wierd to you? Why would he get caught that easily? He evaded a whole party last night, staff and all. Like it was nothing. This isn't adding up..." Syed looked back towards Angel, his face tinged with worry, his voice slightly strained. His eyes then rested on the communicator in particular. He knew Estelle could look after herself, but... "what if he's trying to bait everyone away from what he's aiming for?"

Moira stared at him for a second in disbelief. "Fuckin' hell," she murmured resignedly. How was it possible for him to have gotten more paranoid over their travels?! "Just do us all a favour and stop thinking already. He ain't coming here. Statues are too... whatever the word you said was again. Let's just catch the fucker before he does another runner!"
Oh god that sig lmfao! I can't get over it.

Oh and I'll deffo check that anime out. The disagea one or however you spell it lmao. And lol never played DD but I've seen my bestie play it. It looks 2hard4me :(

The stunning sunset eventually faded to darkness, the natural brilliance replaced with artificial light - some electrical, some candlelight. In the sculpture wing in particular, the chandeliers sent cascades of shimmering light down across the remaining works. It was indeed no suprise that this department was left more intact than most.

The trio were back to patrolling again, passing the various work-rooms nearby. Their contents of hammers and chisels and other various equipment was similarly packed away, although into storage cabinets in the room rather than elsewhere. It was more a case of hiding equipment which could be used to aid a break-in than it was not wanting them to be stolen.

"Fuck, I wish he would hurry up," Moira complained. "Stopping a thief is all well and good when he actually shows up. Could all be a joke for all we know." She looked around them. She doubted he would make an appearance in this part of the school anyway. As much as Angel had earlier suggested it could be one of the older pieces such as the suits, she doubted the thief could carry them. Especially on his lonesome.

"Urgh he'd better not be a mage. Fuck mages. Us non-mages have gotta stick together, right?" Moira nudged Angel and flashed one of her slightly intimidating grins. Syed cringed. She hadn't even asked him if he had magic or not!

"I did feel some magic last night. When he dissapeared," he admitted. If anything, it felt slightly familiar. "Although with the amount of people in the room it might not have been him. Best keep your guard up in case."

"URGH!" Moira groaned. At this rate she would be better off in the pub.
???
High on the roof and out of sight from anyone below, a man rose from a crouching position and pushed his hat back in place. Here they were, ready for another heist.

The faint moonlight glinted against a set of grinning teeth. He'd follow The Masked Phantom whatever he decided to do. That was his promise to himself after all. And this? This looked like it will be the most fun yet. Life is far too short to not have fun.

Well that, and the women. He looked over to one of his partners as his heart beat harder, waving enthusiastically, before blowing her a silent kiss. It took all he had to not call out her name, but he knew better. To be working with a goddess like her... was something he would never get over!
Dude don't look at me for sigs, I haven't even thought of one for myself :P And I've been loving your (and everyone's) posts too lol

Right posting this from my phone (which won't let me scroll in the text box so this will be small) but I'll be skipping this round. Work kicked my arse extra hard tonight and I need the sleep. I've been pretty consistent with my posting lately so I think it should be fine. Sorry Rex, but either way I shouldn't force you to skip a day with Angel unless you want to of course.

I'll catch up tomorrow seeya later!
Awww it's a game, I was hoping it was an anime or something. Ah well lol.

I'd rather skip, but if things turn out more natural to go one more round then so be it.

Kathi are you going on a world tour or something?! lmao!

While Amy may have viewed her group with mild dismay, Moira was quite relieved with hers. Angel seemed like a pretty cool guy, plus as he wasn't a member of the Pride it would be a welcome relief from how awkward things were for her. At least he wouldn't-

"Not that I mind or anything, but you two don't really like to split up, huh? Hahaha, don't worry. I won't pry."

Fuck. What a day.

"We're stuck together," Syed replied, keeping a cheerful tone to try and ease the tension. He gave the man one of his trademark, goofy looking dorky grins as he stepped away from her. "Literally. Come on, pull my arm."

Moira's eyebrows lowered. Idiot. She couldn't help the corners of her mouth twitch a little though. Well. At least... at least it looked like this should be fairly interesting. Patrolling around the school grounds was probably not the most exciting job out there, but if this thief was anything like last night he'd probably make himself known.

She closed her eyes for a moment, reaching back and allowing her fingers to brush across the hilt of her greatsword. Whatever happened, she'll be ready for it. As long as she didn't need to think too hard for it.

"Anything you guys wanna do before we split? I'd offer another tour, buuuut that seems to be out of the way right now."

"Nah, sunsets aren't really my thing," Moira said, crossing her arms. "Art schools aren't really my thing," she admitted. "I like to be doing shit, not lookin' at it. But... if you want," she smirked, a glint in her eyes. "We can discuss business. Since we got interrupted yesterday."

Syed simply shrugged. He reached out to take the communicator off Angel. Well he was certainly interested in it, even if the sculptor wasn't. He moved the object around in his hands, locating all the various buttons and dials on it. How cool was this?! He pressed on the speak button, unable to really hide the glee on his face.

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!

He yelped, being assaulted from all sides as every communicator erupted with awful, static screaching noises. So his magic interfered with it. Damn, he was gutted! He flushed, mouthing apologies as he gingerly gave it back to Angel. Yeah. He can look after it.

It wasn't just outside where pieces had been stored away. The walls were covered in slightly darker rectangles, where drawings, paintings and photographs had been removed and stored away. Anything small enough to carry was being removed, leaving only the largest pieces and those too delicate to move safely. No doubt it would be the same across the campus - everything from musical instruments and more costly props right down to equisite sketchbooks.

As a result the building seemed even bigger, flooding light into large, expansive mostly empty rooms. All that really remained was cupboards and other various storage, the massive chandeliers which reflected glittering light across the room through their many glass shards, and the odd large piece of sculpture or instillation work.

A couple of staff members carrying a particularly large painting shuffled by, eyeing the Pride suspiciously. However the sight of Dalia, Rose and Angel seemed to put them at ease somewhat.

"Okay yeah whatever. What if he tries to steal that fountain outside? That looks pretty valuable. Oh, wait, what if he tries to steal the whole stage. I'm sure the entire room- wait, he can't steal whole buildings, can he!? Cuz designing buildings, man that's art too. So--"

"Trixie. Shut. Up."

Syed grinned, patting Trixie on the shoulder. "We were trying to figure that one out earlier, although we didn't have much luck." He nodded towards Marcus and Xan, making sure to make eye contact with the metalurgist in particular to reassure her. Thankfully in the hours that had passed Moira had calmed down a little, although she still was avoiding talking to anyone. Even now she was just keeping to herself, walking beside him but avoiding eye contact with everyone.

"I don't think he'll be able to steal a building though. They're pretty heavy." He brought a finger to his lips in somewhat mischevious thought. "Imagine though. If he tied a load of balloons to it and floated the school away..." he chuckled. "That would be cool. I mean..." he seemed to catch himself, flushing a little. "I mean I don't want him to do that, and I don't think it's even really possible, but it'll still be pretty cool."

He went to fiddle with the scarf he wore around his waist. He had grown to quite like how it looked, and it seemed a waste to only wear it with those formal clothes from before. So here he had it over his uniform too. Trixie had good taste.
Hahahaha yeah good point about Don. I stand corrected :P Also you reminded me I need to update my backups lol

Rex, just out of curiosity, what have your sigs and avatars been from lately? They look pretty funny, I've been wondering for a while lol

RIGHT I'd better go get ready, gonna go go-karting with work. I am very competative and a sore loser so if there's a pile-up and I end up with a broken limb then you know it's probably me who started it lmao :D

Oh also I'll leave you with the theme for my favourite boss in FFXIV:RR. Shame I could only find it with the fight attached, so don't watch if you don't want to be spoiled. Although I don't think any of you really care about that much lmao.

Timeskip sounds good to me too!

I think everyone knows fully well what kind of driver Moira will be lmao. And of course, in typical road raging fashion, she'd think she's the only person on the road who can actually drive. Syed will probably one of those drivers who sings badly to the radio until he hears a funny noise in his car then oh gods the car will explode then flip into the air and into an orphanage for small children.

Aria in anything less than a fancy convertable is sacrelidge I'm sorry. Much like Don riding anything other than a motorbike is.

Or Lucien riding anything other than a panda.

Oh crap I remember you talking about that dream that was the best dream ever. Seriously.

La Mansión de Cervántes - Library
Short and to the point. Nonetheless, the lack of information if anything made the attack sound worse. Even Moira, as familiar as she was with the brutality of life, couldn't help but cringe a little at the thought. Bears were massive, powerful creatures. It could probably take a limb away in a million ways, each as gruesome as the last.

Syed meanwhile brought his hands to his mouth briefly, before clutching at his own arm in empathy. It must have been absolutely horrifying - and he doubted Xan's injuries would be purely physical after something like that. Especially with it as recent as it was. He knew that from personal experiance.

Nonetheless Xan dealt with the question admirably. Who could blame her for turning it round on them?

Moira froze. There was a moment of silence, her knuckles going white as she clenched her glass. Syed watched her warily, although he had similarly gone pale. Well, she definately deserved this. And then suddenly, without any warning at all, the glass shattered beneath her grip.

She wanted to be angry. She wanted so badly to be angry. Her fists clenched, her right now dripping blood from the glass shards, she gritted her teeth and her pupils constricted. She wanted to throw the table. She wanted to hit someone.

And if it were someone she didn't know that well, she probably would have told them to fuck off, and lashed out if they persisted.

But this wasn't someone random. This was someone she knew, someone she trusted. A blood sister. Someone she had fought with. She wasn't there when Moira warned the others not to ask about it, and Marcus was keeping out of it. Moira had asked her a personal question, and got one in return.

Moira averted her eyes, her entire frame trembling with repressed rage at her situation. "I..." she hesitated, averting her eyes to Syed. The mage looked up to her from his seat, apprehensive as to her answer. The Pride were their closest friends. Like family, even. They could trust them with anything, right? Even something like this?

No.

"...I made a mistake..." she finished through gritted teeth, her voice low. "It... it wasn't just Sy's life I ruined that night."

Without another word she turned around and strode towards the exit, not waiting for her partner. As a result he stumbled over his chair as he was magically pulled after her, and left unable to do anything but grimace apologetically as he was dragged out of the room.
