Los Paraisos: Hotel Pellagio - Moira and Syed's room
Moira flung open the large, balcony doors with a flourish, her eyes wide with amazement. Fuck, how high were they? She could see for miles out here! From the beaches to the more metrolipan areas and everything inbetween. The view would probably be even better at night, when all the lighting would illuminate the landscape below them like a bright, glowing patchwork. The view of the sky above them was completely unobstructed by any other balconies too. Was this the top floor?

Syed hovered around behind her outstretched arm, craning his long neck past her to look around too. "No expense spared, huh..." Between this and the absolutely massive room behind them, the thought of how much this must have cost made his head spin.

Moira strode out onto the balcony, coming to a stop just before the railings. She threw her arms out to her sides, and bellowed; "GET READY PEOPLE, HERE! I! AM!!!" Her voice could be faintly heard echoing around the resort.

Syed flinched and flushed tremendously. Oh Vayu he couldn't take her anywhere.

Once their belongings had been put away and Moira's sword hidden under the massive, king sized bed's mattress (Syed was dissapointed they didn't get a twin room though), they got ready and went back downstairs.

Los Paraisos: Hotel Pellagio - Lobby

Moira and Syed arrived a little after some of the others, which was a little unusual for them. They were usually one of the first. Syed gave Dylan an apologetic look, it seemed the artist was looking particularly impatient. Had he been waiting here a while? Moira on the other hand didn't even notice.

Moira had swapped her dress for a smaller beach dress, and a one piece swimming costume under that. Not that she was planning on going anywhere near the water. It was more to help prevent the sand going places she'll never see again. Although hopefully, she'd be too busy with the bars to bother with the sand.

Syed looked exactly the same as before, like he hadn't bothered at all. No, there was no way he was getting his legs out if he could help it. Still, he had swimming trunks on underneath in case. You never know.

"Don, we need to buy you a beeper or something," Syed laughed as the pair approached him, Aria and Xan. He would have said something earlier if Moira hadn't dragged him away in her eagerness to see their room. He grinned towards the two girls and patted his bro's shoulder. "Seriously, he gets lost all the time."
Aaaaand there it is. Wooooo!

D: @ not being able to see snow in so long. Ah well, you're in a hotter part of the world I guess. Fwiw what little we had which actually stuck has melted again since it's got really sunny. Good old fashioned changeable British weather haha!

Huh @ your wierdass internet. Yeah I have no idea!

“I’m not saying that we should forget about the disappearances for today, but we are at a resort and if we go out and start interrogating people we’re going look suspicious, get found out and maybe deported, botching the entire mission. Instead we could go out, have fun and mingle with the people here to try to get more information from them. People’s lips are looser when they’re relaxed and enjoying themselves, after all.”

Syed's expression immediately softened. He didn't think of that. He just... urgh, yeah, calm down. Stop letting stupid things get to you. He focused instead on Aria, giving her a small smile. Thank the gods she had more of a level head than he did. "Yeah, that makes sense. Thank you."

Moira shrugged. Yeah, there was that too. In fact that probably made more sense than her thought that they were just going to lurk around wherever they were told to and pounce on anyone who looked a bit dodgy.

Syed finished his soda, stood up and pushed his chair back under the table, before slinging his bag back over his shoulder. "Come on then, the sooner we get rid of our stuff the better." His eyes cast over her sword - the thing was so huge, and it was really starting to worry him now they had the knowledge that they weren't actually supposed to be here. People don't tend to carry weapons while on holiday, and there were a few people in their group with them.

Moira said nothing for a moment, bringing her bottle once more to her lips. Well so far they had some for the waterpark, some for the beach. She supposed if they were supposed to be gathering information, it'd be better if they split into smaller groups than one big one. Also screw the idea of a waterpark.

"I won't mind trying out some of the bars," she said nonchalantly as she squinted at the label on her bottle. Bloody hell she didn't even know what half of the words on here were. She turned to Aria and Xan. "You reckon there's some bars on the beach? I won't mind the beach either if it's got bars."

She then looked up to her partner, who was starting to look a little fidgity. Urgh, fine. She too got up, her chair scraping loudly against the floor. She kept her grip on her bottle, however. "Alright then, ready when you lot are."
Yeah Kathi, pay no mind to how many people have posted since your last post. There isn't really any fixed posting order, so long as you're posting once a day/round then you're good to go. I've posted before with only one post since my last one!

I'm not confident I'll be able to get a post up after work tonight, so I think I'll write a little post before instead. I'll probably start writing in a couple of hours. Then if I can get a post up after work bonus, if not I covered my bases haha!

And woooooo we got snow! Finally! It isn't sticking though because it's too wet, but it's here!
Happy birthday Rex! Hope you're having a good one. Oh my goddddd Kathi that picture is adorable hahahahahahaha!

Moira rolled her eyes and leaned back even more as Thunderhawk spoke. To be honest, she had already sort of drowned out most of the questions being thrown about. She really wasn't interested in the answers either. All she wanted to know was where and when and she'd be there.

It didn't look like she was getting even that right now.

Syed took a deep breath and closed his eyes, his furrowed eyebrows twitching. Perhaps unsuprisingly, Thunderhawk was somehow worse when in charge. What the hell did he expect?! He was the one who said 'that's it', if he had more to say he should have said it! He pushed a hand through his hair. Was he baiting them? Trying to wind them up? If he was, it was working. For him at least. It was taking all he had to not start sparking up.

Instead he decided to browse through the crumpled and torn paperwork, trying to find anything they might have in common. Race, class, even just hair colour. If it was something like he was thinking of, he would imagine there would be a... type. The thought made him sick, but as usual his brain leapt straight for the worst situation possible.

He continued to listen throughout though, trying his best to not let Thunderhawk's sometimes patronising manner get to him. Although the knowledge that Guilders were forbidden to work here was new to him. He thought that there must have been some sort of arrangement. Well, that put a spanner in the works.

Moira blinked a couple of times. Awareness was never her forte. "We're... not in Artar?" she stared, her eyes wide. Her mind was blown. She had never left Artar before. "Why didn't anyone say anythin' earlier?"

She would have probably stood at the front of the boat bellowing about crossing the border if she did.

Even she pulled a face a little at the idea of setting up some of the group as bait though. Thank fuck Estelle shot that one down. Everyone bar Amy was younger than her son. The thought of offering up girls young enough to be her daughters as a trap to fuck knows what... no. No, fuck that. She trusted her friends in situations of life or death before, but this was different. A glance to Syed (who was absolutely glowering at the spot Thunderhawk was before Estelle clocked him) confirmed that his thoughts were along the same lines. They both opposed it.

They had no backup after all.

And with that they were to split up and relax, with the intention of meeting up later. Which Dylan quickly protested. "Our best chance is probably at night, love," Moira sighed. Well, she guessed that was why. She sat back and downed some more of her wine.

Syed glared at nobody in particular. Even if that was the case, but how the hell could he relax or have fun with something like this on his mind?

Xan's expression wasn't the only one which became confused. Sy too became visibly puzzled when the pair shook hands. He couldn't tell until they made physical contact with one another, but something felt a little odd. Not physically, but magically. What the?

He then caught sight of her expression before he quickly released his grip. That was wierd. "Haha..." he didn't know what to do with himself anymore, and it was painfully obvious. "Probably static... yeah. Sorry about that." With a quick forced smile he quickly averted his eyes back to Thunderhawk, cupping his hands around his soda nervously.

Moira pulled a face. Well, that was probably the most awkward introduction ever. She shrugged at Lucien. Fuck if she knew what happened.

Well, time for the briefing. Moira sighed and rolled her eyes. Eh, Sy will have it. She'll just enjoy her wine. She took a sip. Oh bloody hell she was right to trust Amy's judgement. This stuff was better than the wine she shared with Harrison at Museo! She could almost hear the chorus of the angels already. How expensive was this stuff?!

“The mission is this: Young women around the island have been going missing..." A pause. "That’s it. Any questions?”

Moira was seconds away from spraying a mouthful of wine across the table, the bottle just touching her lips. Instead she stared wide eyed, before slamming her bottle on the table. "You what?!" She didn't even have time to stop paying attention! This was worse than Fenaru! "Fuckin hell...!"

Syed started coughing, having to push his chair back to allow himself to double over. Ow ow ow ow! Unfortunately for him he was in mid-sip, and instead of spitting out his drink it went down the wrong way. He spluttered as someone slapped his back to help him out. What? Was that it? Literally that?

Thankfully Dylan had already started to indeed ask questions; the really obvious sort which should have been told in the first place. "Yeah people don't just... vanish in thin air," Moira scowled, before bringing her head back and taking another gulp of wine. There had to be something.

After thudding his chest a little, Syed's coughing fit lessened enough for him to add a couple of questions of his own. "Do we at least know anything about the women?" He coughed again, eyes watering with pain as he did so. He'll be okay, he'll be okay. "Like, if they're locals or tourists? If they have anything in common?"
Woop woop woop should probably go bed soon!

Sorry if the quality of the post is a little off, I'm exhausted both physically and mentally after this week. And I'm at work again tomorrow boooo. Probably gonna just drop lolololol.

Have a good day/night/whatever everyone!

Moira cupped her shot glass in her hands - containing a clear, very powerful smelling liquid which would probably set aflame if you so much as let a spark near it. Well, the bartender did exactly as she asked. She downed it in one, although it was so strong it made even her eyes water a little. Blimey, what the heck was that? It was certainly stronger than vodka or tequila or even bourbon.

Whatever, she needed it.

“Ahem! My good man! Grant my friends here any drink they’d like, the round’s on me!” Thunderhawk announced uncomfortably before walking off to a pair of tables.

Amy then proceeded to order three bottles of some wine or the other. Well, if there was one person Moira trusted with when it came to knowing their alcohol (who didn't run away from the group at any rate), it was Amy. "Cor, is it that good? Alright then, I'll have a bottle of that too."

"Oh, and I'm Trixie. Nice to meetcha!"

"And I'm Syed," the mage added with a smileand a nod, before adding with adding with a grin, "and don't worry, I'm pretty good with names." With that and another nod towards the quieter of the pair, he turned away from them and back to Moira. Everyone was heading to another table after all, so they'd best join them.

"Ey Sy, Thunderwhatsit is buying a round," Moira said as soon as he reappeared, shoving her newly aquired bottle in his face and causing him to recoil a little. "Aims thought this one was good."

Well looking at her, she must think it was good if she'd ordered that much of it. "Ha... well, it probably is. But I think it's best if one of us stays sober, since we're working and all." Syed glanced around for Thunderhawk, his somewhat displeased expression returning when he spotted him. Well, he was trying to be nice to them. He guessed. He turned back to the barkeeper, although he then found himself at a bit of a loss. What did he want? Due to the heat he didn't really want a hot drink either.

Luckily Lucien was nearby. The man did like his soft drinks. "Lucien? What's a good soda, you reckon?"

Soon they were newly armed with their drinks, both taking a seat at one of the two tables. Moira proceeded to put her feet on the table, then almost immediately be told to take them off again by one of the members of staff. Damnit. She leaned back on her chair instead.

"Thanks for the drink," she held her bottle high in the air with a mild look of approval. She was feeling less angry at Thunderhawk already. Alcohol fixed everything!

Syed chose to be quiet, sipping at his drink thoughtfully. Well, so far this all seemed too good to be true, even with the knowledge of who they were working with. The mission had to be the catch, right?
