Seven Days Ago

Curtis sniffed the humid Tennessee air from his vantage point on the top of a small apartment building. Nashville was busy and any other night, the tourists and locals pouring into the various country bars hoping to see the next big singer or songwriter. Curtis really did love this city, it felt like home to him. Alex loved country music, he would have loved it here. Curtis was interrupted from his daydream by a buzz from his cell phone . The kid just left, get in there and check it out.

They had been watching this kid for weeks, for suspected occult activity. The kid hadn't been seen at his high school for weeks, and recently he had been buying all of the materials needed to construct a grimoire. All he needed was a human sacrifice, and a demon would be summoned. That's where Curtis came in, he had to scare the kid straight or, if it couldn't be helped, put him down. Curtis saw the kid exit his small home across the street, look around and head north down the sidewalk. This was his cue, he quickly went to the fire escape and climbed down to the street. He jogged across the street and walked up the stoop to the front door of the house. He tried the door, it was locked. "I am going loud." Curtis said into a small microphone clipped to his shirt. He took a step back, and kicked in the door.

The door flew open and smacked the wall behind it, causing a large wooden clap to echo throughout the seemingly empty home. Curtis quickly moved the door back to where it appeared shut, it would fool anyone who happened to walk by but it would be obvious if someone approached the door. To the left of the doorway was a small living room, but something was off. A layer of dust covered all of the furniture, almost like no one had sat on anything for at least a week. Suddenly a familiar scent caught Curtis's nose. Blood. "Shit. Shit. Shit." Curtis said to himself, following the scent to a doorway in the back of a small kitchen. Luckily that door was unlocked, and opened up to reveal a flight of stairs that lead down to a basement. The flickering light of multiple candles could be seen from the top of the stairs.
Curtis quickly ran down the stairs and was greeted by an all-to-familiar sight. A circle was drawn into the ground with various symbols scattered throughout it. A leather bound book was sitting in the center of the circle, opened to a blank page. Hanging directly above the book was a middle aged women. Ropes tied to her wrists were binding her to the ceiling, and her sweatpants and t-shirt were matted with blood. Curtis rushed to the woman untied the ropes. She fell into his arms, and Curtis carried her upstairs. "He is attempting a summoning, he was going to use his mother. I have her and she is still living. I need a pickup crew ASAP." Curtis spoke into the microphone while nudging the front door open with his foot. He hadn't even made it down the front steps before a black van pulled up and a large man stepped out. Curtis handed the woman to the man. " I am gonna head back inside to wait for the boy." Curtis said was turning back to enter the home. "Wait," the man said while placing the mother into the passenger seat of the vehicle, "We have some other agents coming to wrap this up, you are needed back at HQ, stat." Curtis stopped walking towards the house, This can't be good. He quickly ran back across the street to his car and drove back to HQ.

Two Days Ago

Curtis still couldn't believe that he was being transferred, especially as someplace as swanky as LA. He smiled to himself, and looked at all of the other passengers on the bus. Greyhound wasn't exactly the most luxurious way to travel, but it was inexpensive and would get the job done. It would take two days to get to LA, and that was minimal rest stops. Curtis didn't mind, the majority of this bus was filled with the youth groups of two small churches. After all of the things that Curtis has seen, it made him feel good to see some real faith in the world. He slouched in his seat and looked out the window, it was going to be a long trip so he might was well get comfortable.
Tollank was finally getting a few moments of rest when he was awoken by someone shouting.

Brasslazer said "Okay, what's the deal with all this vanilla!" he shouted, looking around to see the old-timely dressed boy, his eyes then focusing on the girl who had taken the bags earlier.
"Oh, I see you had something to do with it." he said, his voice full of contempt.

Tollank quickly sat up to see the bug faced boy from earlier, standing in the doorway of the traincar. Tollank still didn't know what Leon and Aeria were talking about, but he assumed it was important if it required they went to a less crowded place. And peaches here was gonna mess all of that up. Tollank rose to his feet and walked over to the boy.

"Hey Peaches, the name's Tollank, My friends here are trying to do a little conversing in private and I don't feel like they would want to be interrupted." Tollank puts his hand on the boy's shoulder, "How about you and I go wait outside, and when they are finished we can come back in and sort all of this out?" Tollank turned his face towards Leon and Aeria, "We will be waiting outside, just come and get us when you two are wrapped up." Gently leading the boy he opens the door of the holocar and steps out into the station.

The door clicking behind him, Tollank lets go of the boy. "I don't know what beef you have with Aeria, but I couldn't imagine her hurting anyone, she is way too quiet for that. If you want vanilla so badly I am sure we could find some once we get deeper into town. If Aeira or Leon wants to talk to us then they will come get us," Tollank moves himself in front of the doorway and crosses his arms, "but for now we are gonna wait right here."
Tollank stood up and began to follow Aeria into the next traincar, however soon Aeria stood aside and allowed him to enter the traincar first. There were quite a few more people in this traincar compared to theirs, but it still didn't compare to the number of people that were gathered into the previous meeting hall.

WinterNightSky said She turns to look at Tollank and slings her bag over her shoulder. "You can go on ahead without me. I'll catch up as soon as I can." She smiled and reached for the pocket watch inside the pocket of her coat. "In 30 minutes or an hour, maybe? I just have.. some business to attend to." She said in a gentle manner as her eyes flickered to where Leon was sitting.

"That's okay, I have nothing but time." Tollank looked towards the row of seats that lined either side of the holocar. "I am not too keen on losing track of my two new friends just yet. I may sit down and rest my eyes for a bit, just come and nudge me when you are done." Tollank walked over to the seats on the adjacent wall and sat down. He watched Aeria walk over to Leon, and eventually move to a different spot in the traincar. Tollank leaned his head back and closed his eyes, it had been a long day so far, and he felt it was only gonna get longer.
Stopping by to say that my interest still stands :D How many players are we up to?
Marx said "Oh, that's your bag?" Leon rose an eyebrow at Tollnak, deciding immediately to have a bit of fun with him. "I assumed it was Aeria's bag, what with it saying Girl Power in bold print across the front of it." Leon held back a smile, giving a gentle nudge to Aeria with his elbow

WinterNightSky said "Uhh.." She was now looking at Tollank but was sending Leon nervous glares from time to time. "Um y-yeah. It's even pink.."

Tollank listened to Leon and Aeria describe his bag, and he almost believed them for a moment. However it obvious that there was some kind of rouse going on, Leon was practically choking trying not to smile and Aeria was obviously uncomfortable with her statements. Well if they are gonna have, I might as well have some too...
"Oh thank you two so much! With me being blind and all I can't see colors, so thank you for telling me about my bag before I made a fool of myself!", Tollank hunched over in a huge fit of laughter, the sound echoing through the holotrain. "The next time you guys try to pull a fast one on me, at least TRY to make it believable!"

The holocar came to a halt at the station, and the squealing of the breaks gave Tollank a clear view of the station. People were already shuffling out of another holocar, Tollank assumed that they were the kids who picked a different district. Your loss kids, at least my alien seems to be a trustworthy one. Each footstep of the crowd gave Tollank a little picture. The place had been scrubbed clean, with no discarded wrappers or insects scurrying around. In a few places he could even see where there was a slight bit of water left, it had not yet dried from the cleaning.

Marx said "No way in hell I'm gonna walk around a crowd like that again anytime soon." Leon muttered under his breath, plopping back down into his seat. "Ya'll can hop off the train without me," Leon said aloud to no one in particular, "I'm going to stay behind and wait for the crowd to die down."

Tollank looked up at Bowtie and smile knowingly. He knew that crowds weren't most people's forte, and unlike him people with sight were actually hindered by a large number of people. "Its all good bro, take all the time you need." Tollank went to zipping up his bag and slinging it across his shoulder, when he looked up Leon was already walking into another traincar.

WinterNightSky said She shook her head to get rid of the jumbled thoughts and focused on Tollank who was sitting across her. "Let's head to the next train?" She said and stood up to picked her bag up.

"Oh, sounds good too me!" Tollank stood up and stretched out his legs, he turned to the boy whose hand he shook and sat next to. "Sorry we didn't talk too much, maybe we can meet up in the city sometime?" He smiled at the boy and then turned to follow Aeria into the next train car.
Okay :D Sounds like a plan, stan!
WinterNightSky said "It's okay, his offer was rather surprising." She said nonchalantly. Before she could answer his question, She noticed that something had caught Tollank's attention and he followed his gaze to the boy with the bandana. "Nothing at all. Someone just managed to put me in a foul mood.." She paused, "Possibly, the one you're staring at." She finished with a half smile.

Tollank continued to study the boy with the mandibles, his constant crunching of the cans and the slurping allowing shockwaves to wash over his body. All the better to see you with Tollank thought to himself. It was perhaps one of the strangest things that Tollank had ever seen, a blend of flesh and hard exoskeleton. He shifted his focus to Aeria, "Well then, whatever could that sweet little boy have done? All he seems to do is want to eat peaches. Not that I can blame him though, peaches do happen to be one of my favorites as well." Tollank suddenly felt footsteps approaching, announcing the return of his new friend Leon.

Marx said "Hey, hey." Leon said, looking at the two for a moment. Leon could feel Aeria's distaste at the current situation, being the bug-boy insulting her, and let out a sigh as Tollnak said something to her. "She's annoyed because the bug boy said something rude to her for no real reason." Leon explained, having the gist of Aeria's personality and that she wasn't much of a conversationalist. Leon reached across and picked up his luggage, yanking it over to his lap.

"Bowtie returns! Well I guess everybody picked up on the whole insect making Aeria mad thing, damn my habit of over concentrating." Watching Leon open his bag reminded Tollank that he should check on the condition of his luggage. He moved the small duffle bag from the seat next to him onto his lap. Unzipping it he snapped his fingers, sending a small wave of sound into the bag. A few shirts and pants, a couple pairs of shorts if it was warmer. His MP3 player was in his pocket, he would never let that thing leave his side. Suddenly a thought occurred to Tollank.

"Leon......what color is my bag? I just kinda grabbed it before I had to leave. Please say it looks halfway decent..."
*Begins CPR*
DON'T DIE ON ME, DAMMIT!
Tollank was deep in thought, still pondering the pros and cons of Leon's offer. He didn't always think quite as deeply as this, but when he really had a lot of thought to put into things he found it quite easy lose touch with the outside world.

"...and you are?"

Tollank suddenly snapped back into reality, and saw a younger boy standing boy standing before him. The boy was well dressed, wearing a clean button up, and a tie and vest to accent the whole ensemble. "Damn son, between you and Leon I am starting to feel a little underdressed," Tollank chucked and brought up his robotic arm to receive the offered handshake, "I am indeed Tollank, but pardon by obliviousness but I didn't catch yours!" Tollank noticed Aeria walking up with two bags in her hands.

"I saw your bag while I was getting mine."

"Oh thank you Aeria, that was really nice of you." Aeria sat down in her seat, and seem more than a little annoyed. Tollank broke off the handshake with the boy and returned his attention to him. "Feel free to sit down, there is plenty of room here and I always like good company." He smiled at the boy before turning his attention to Aeria. "Hey I am really sorry that I was kinda out of it for a bit, its just that Leon's offer really caught me off guard. I was lost in thought and I kind of zoned out." Aeria looked rather annoyed, and Tollank really hoped that it wasn't due to his zoning out. "What is wrong Aeria? Did something happen?" He waited for her reply, but he didn't feel like he should press her any further.

Tollank felt a shuffling towards the back of the train. He took note of the boy standing there, awkwardly slurping at the contents of a can. Tollank was surprised to see that under his bandana he was hiding the mandibles of a large insect. That's freaking awesome, after I sort out whats wrong with Aeria I need to talk to that guy, Tollank thought to himself. The boy was trying to hide his mutation for some reason, but since he was trying to hide he felt like he shouldn't mention it to anyone. Tollank smiled to himself, these people were going to be his family from now he. He really hoped that they would all be as cool as Aeria, Leon, and boy whose hand he shook.
