Sally sat alone on some random street corner, she looked poised and slightly respectful. At least she wasn't a drunkard sitting on the street expecting cash.
As she sang songs for couples, the random man or woman, even the kids that looked to be in their teens, she slowly got more and more money. It filled her bucket and she thanked the givers with numerous amounts of praise.
As she finished up for the day she sighed, taking her bucket and rubbing her worn throat as she thoroughly counted her intake. After this she would head to the bar, or scope out the city for an abandoned building to call her own. "Nice, six hundred." She muttered to herself, stuffing the money in her pockets and picking herself up. She headed towards the nearest mall.
As soon as she arrived she went straight for the food court, not taking the time to think about the toiletries she needed to buy. Or the luxuries she wished to waste her money on.
She made a few stops, first at McDonald's, taking the time to order twenty burgers, and a soft drink. She then traveled to the Little Ceaser's, and picked up two pizzas. Afterwards she was left with five hundred, sixty eight dollars. And low self-esteem, gifted to her by some prissy little girls.
She traveled through the mall, and ended up at Bath and Bodyworks. Where she allowed herself one nice smelling bottle of lotion, and chapstick.
Next up was a cheap clothing shop, JcPenny's, to be exact. She grabbed some cheap ten for ten white shirts and left before she convinced herself to buy a nice little dress that called her name. She also bought two pairs of sweats, and three pairs of jeans. By the end of this little shopping spree she was left with fifty dollars, and that was after buying a few necessary toiletries. She felt good about her purchases, but near the end she couldn't help herself, rushing to buy three cans of pepper spray, and after a little convincing, a sharp pocket knife. At that point she was stuck with fifteen dollars. And a little safety.
So she abandoned the tempting mall, carrying all the bags she could hold and scurrying across many streets. She was searching of course, for a new home. Her last one had gotten busted by the cops, but they didn't arrest her fortunately.
When she found it she stopped, gasping in a thick sense of awe. A seemingly abandoned hotel. That she just had to check out. Or, across the street sat a warped house, gang signs covered it from head to toe. But it looked salvageable. Now she had to choose, and since she hated the hotel lifestyle, she ran to the house across from there.
She used her tiny fingers to pry open the door, and smiled at what she found. It had been picked clean, old unwanted furniture covered in strange plastic, dust on every surface. It was so...beautiful. She dropped her bags and grabbed a slice of pizza, plopping down onto the couch and eying the mysterious hotel across the street.
(I know, the angles on her face are strange, that is what I mean by colorful(Basically my word for different) it is a stretch from my usual black and white sketches.)
